I would like to share information for those who are thinking about choosing a hotel, while memories are fresh. And also for those who have already decided and are planning what to do after disembarkation. Everything below is my personal IMHO, of course, someone may think differently.
The main advantages of the hotel:
1) Large beautiful area. Lots of tropical flora (corresponds to the name). From the fauna - nimble gray squirrels, various birds, small lizards are constantly available. Occasionally you can see monkeys and fairly large lizards. All fauna is harmless and cowardly. There are cute fish in the ponds.
2) Quite high-quality and quite varied breakfasts. Except for breakfast, there is no point in eating at the hotel, IMHO.
3) On the territory of 2 swimming pools, where you can swim around the clock, which is important.
4) Fairly clean (for Pattaya) beach.
Nearby is a local hotel monster of monstrous proportions - the Ambassador. Main cons:
1) Far from the center of Pattaya.

2) Most of the rooms have not been renovated for a long time (not critical, but noticeable).
3) Inconvenient road crossing (Sukhumvit Highway).

Now some practical advice for those who decide to go to Botany:

Which rooms to choose in Botany.
Price ascending:
1) Regular room in a three-story building. There is a balcony and a small bathroom. The buildings are located in the middle of the territory (between the road and the sea). The cheapest option.
2) Bungalow. This is a small house with 2 rooms. They share a common staircase. At the top, it is divided into 2 separate terraces. The terrace is larger than the balcony in a regular room in the building. They are closest to the sea near the large pool. The plus is that it is a separate house, the neighbors are at most alone (or maybe not).
3) Thai villa. Also a house for 2 rooms, but more than a bungalow. Large bathroom (shower, bath, toilet) in which palm trees grow! The stairs are separate, you won’t even cross with your neighbors there. The terrace is the largest.
The decoration of the room is better than the previous ones. Located around a small pool, closer to the road. Maximum greenery.
4) Balinese villa. It looks like 2 combined Thai villas, but with a common hall. You go in it, then you scatter on numbers. It is convenient if you eat in a large company and can capture such a villa as a whole. Located closest to the road.
We lived in a Thai villa. There it is important not to forget to completely close the door to the bathroom at night. For the noise from the street and from the neighbors, and a mosquito attack is possible. Everything is acceptable with the door closed.

How to get to the Ambassador and adjacent markets and other things.
There are 2 ways: along the road and along the beach. It is better to walk along the beach, and a serious hike for goodies, a foray into shops or cafes - along the way.
Along the beach - the direction against the pier. Along the way there will be a small market (expensive), a massage parlor and cafes. Everything is of a crumbling type directly on the beach.

On the hotel path, go up to the highway.
It runs parallel to the coast along the whole of Pattaya. Standing with your back to Botany, turn left and go to the crossing. Along the way, you will meet a shop 7-11 (important, because often you don’t need to go further). The main building of the Ambassador is a huge orange building. Illuminated at night.

Where to change currency.
It is better to carry the currency itself in dollars in hundred bills. The first $100 can be exchanged at the stop on the way to the hotel (most transfers stop at this place). We need to find a Thai holding an announcement about the exchange. The course will be average. With exchanged money you can buy any small things at the bus stop. After arriving at the hotel, you can change at check-in (the exchange rate is the worst). You can walk to the Ambassador, there are several exchangers near the road, find the best rate, but it will be average here. The most decent course can be found in the city. We changed at the money changer on our way to the night market across from Lotus (see below).
It is important that not the exchanger at the entrance to the market (there is a terrible exchange rate), but somewhere halfway from the road. The course there was consistently good.

How to get to the night market.
The night market, IMHO, is a must visit : ) It's just interesting to get into the spirit of Asia. You can buy local clothes, try exotic dishes.
The nearest decent market is opposite the Lotus supermarket. Works from Friday to Sunday. Catch a white Tuk-tuk and drive 15 minutes along the road to the left of Botany until you see the Lotus sign. It's hard to miss, but check out that the next one will be an even bigger Big-C supermarket sign. Perpendicular to the road there will be a street leading to the sea. Walk along it for about 5 minutes, you get to the market. Along the way, there will be a useful wholesale shop for Thai medicines, cosmetics, teas, etc. It is convenient to buy for gifts.

How to get to the city center (Walking street, etc. ).

Catch a white tuk tuk on the road in front of the hotel and go to the Big-C supermarket sign.
At Big-C go outside perpendicular to the main road towards the sea. Catch a blue fat there and pass 2 traffic lights (yellow Buddha landmark). You are in the center. Walking Street - on the left, if you stand facing the sea.

How to drive around the city.
According to the schedule, a minibus runs from the hotel to the center and back, it costs 60 baht.
A regular taxi costs 200-500 baht, depending on how you agree, time and distance.
Who loves taxis, it is better to download the uber application, then you will fit 200-300 baht.
There are motorcycle taxis. They cost less than cars, but this is the most extreme, taking into account local non-compliance with traffic rules. Plus, sitting behind the driver is not the most pleasant, IMHO.

IMHO, the best transport is tuk-tuk. An analogue of our open minibus. It is the most inexpensive, frequent and exotic. Tuk vary in color depending on the street they drive on.
A white tuk walks along the main street of Sukhumvit and costs 20 baht.
Blue ride on perpendicular Sukhumvit, cost 10 baht.
Other colors were not used. Riding on the bandwagon is an unforgettable experience : )

Sometimes (especially in the evening) tuk taxis disguise themselves as route tuks. You can't tell them apart by sight. But it's easy to spot; Such a "werewolf" will be empty and instead of driving along the route, it will persistently ask you where to go. Calmly sit down and wait for him to go along the route. If he doesn’t go, but tries to find out where to go, get out and wait for the next one.

Where to eat.
In Pattaya, this is not a problem. I will describe the situation around the hotel;
In Botany itself there is a bar next to the pool, a couple of restaurants. Everything is expensive and not very tasty. During the day, shrimp are brought to the beach, quite decent and inexpensive. On the street nearby, food can be taken from the 7-11 store and from merchants next to it. Especially noteworthy are the delicious local pancakes with banana. This is the closest zone.

The middle zone along the beach is cafes on the way to Ambassador. The prices are average and so is the taste. But - a view of the sea.
If you go to the Ambassador along the road and cross the passage opposite him, then there will be a small market and a "glutton row". The market prices for fruits are very good. And the "glutton row" is a small lane with cafes. The choice is large, the prices are average, the taste is also average, IMHO. All these cafes are too Russified, there is little color.
We found a decent cafe there, a little off to the side. Go along the obzhonom row, there will be a small branch to the right. There is a Thai cafe at the end. The taste of the dishes is amazing, especially compared to the average in the series. Prices are surprisingly lower. Apparently, most tourists do not reach there. In general, in order to understand where it tastes better, it is better to look at where local Thais go to eat. For lovers of the exotic and a large selection, it makes sense to taste dishes at the night market.

The main danger of Thai food is pepper.
As well as a view of the sea, lying under the palm trees.
2) Massage parlor on the beach on the way to Ambassador. There are no pajamas and normal couches, as in a hotel. But the quality is slightly higher (the ladies work for themselves), and the prices are lower, 200 baht. There is also a sea view.
3) Normal massage in the salon. There are 2 lounges right in front of the hotel, across the road. But it is dangerous to cross there, there is no transition and the quality is not impressive. It is much better to walk to the transition, go, there will also be 2 good salons right next to it. Personally, I liked the neighbor more. The quality is maximum, all the props are there, Thai massage costs 200 baht. But there is no landscape view and you need to walk a bit.
Everyone decides for himself what is more important to him. But in any case, it is better to find a personal master and give tips consistently, then there will be happiness; )

What to take (not to take) excursions.
1) Do not take anything from what the tour operator imposes.

The quality is ordinary, the most average, and the prices are one and a half to two times higher, even taking into account the discount from the cape. Full of tour desks in Pattaya (nearest at 7-11). And we ourselves ordered on the Internet.
2) The choice is a matter of taste, everyone chooses for himself. But the general principle is to avoid any promotional trips (shops, latex factory, pharmacies, etc. ) This is a waste of time and mood.
3) From specific recommendations - be sure to take a trip to Kwai (preferably with a visit to the waterfall). IMHO, the best tour ever. But for 2 days! The price in a decent bureau is about 2000 baht. Another of these heavy saturated ones is a trip to Cambodia (they didn’t go themselves, but many praised).
Next to Botany is Nong Nooch Garden, close and interesting. Mimosa transvestite show right at the crossing. Once you can go to a similar "exotic". There are other similar shows, but why go somewhere, waste time, if this is almost opposite the hotel.
For lovers of a good beach, it is better to take trips to the islands, or a more budget option - remote beaches on the coast ("Military", etc. )
