I want to go, I know when, I know where, but the trouble is...
I can’t figure out how to combine an excursion with a beach holiday? Rather, on the contrary, beach holidays and excursions.
I want to fly to Thailand in January. I thought about the DR, but now I'm still leaning towards the beginning of February, it's interesting to get to the Chinese New Year. Again, is it worth it? Or is it still a week earlier to fly and celebrate 45 there?
Decided on Phuket, Movenpick. Was in Movenpick in other countries, the hotel .. well, probably the best for me. Karon Beach is beautiful, Patong is nearby, everything seems to be fine :-) BUT, I will be bored. I will definitely be bored.
So:
two days Bangkok, five days Pattaya and a week Phuket? Why do I need Pattaya in January? And what will I see only in Bangkok and Phuket? Please help me sort out all this exotic :-)
Many thanks to all the experts in Thailand who answered.

(rubbing hands) mmmm =)))
good program!
two days Bangkok. The first day - we flew in, settled in, took a shower, it was already three or even four in the afternoon .... Oriented on the ground, ran to the nearest hypermarket for flip flops, shorts and T-shirts, it's time to have dinner.
Second day: it all depends on whether you have already been to Thailand or not. If not, start with the royal palace and Wat Po (reclining Buddha), and then - a boat trip along the canals. If you have enough strength - the Winamnek Palace Museum for the afternoon.
If you have a lot of strength and quickly mastered everything, then you will also have time to see the aquarium in Siam Paragon. If you are an Energizer battery, then the Siam Niramit evening show should finally calm you down =)))
Pattaya: the first day - look around the area, and in the evening on Walking Street. Hang out. I think Amir will complement me by skillfully writing a program for you for the remaining 4 days.
Phuket: Settled. Bathed. We looked around.
Rest. Get some sleep =)) I'm sure it won't hurt
You =) The second day - you can go to Phi Phi right in the morning, or (even better) go on a two-day trip to three beautiful places on the sea James Bond - Krabi - Phi Phi with an overnight stay on Phi Phi
аватар Waldi
You will spend the third day there. Fourth day - beach rest and sleep =)
Day 5 - Go rafting or Khao Sok National Park.
Sixth day - you can go see a transvestite show or take a Phuket History tour (fortunately, not a sightseeing tour and there is no shopping).
Seventh day - it seems it's time to pack your bags =)
Questions?
аватар Viltis
Oh thanks man!! I printed it out and put it on the fridge.
Is two days not enough for me in Bangkok? Or maybe three, but in Pattaya 4? So it is possible?
I’m still that battery, no question :-) But here’s my husband, I’m not very sure that he will master everything in 1 day ..
Haven't been to Thailand. In general, I didn’t fly “from the hut” for more than 5 hours and I think with horror how it will fly :-)
What about NG? Is it worth it? The difference is only a week in terms, you can easily adjust the trip for the Chinese New Year.
аватар Viltis
Another question: if I bring shorts, swimming trunks and others like them, what can I see on the day of arrival?
Do you need to book hotels back in Bangkok? From plane to plane?
аватар Waldi
Well, there are a lot of details, actually. The program can be drawn up so that you will gallop on excursions. But - it is not necessary. You are going to rest. Let you and the battery, but even the battery needs to be recharged periodically, otherwise it will quickly sit down. Not? =)
Two days is enough for Bangkok. If it seems a little - catch up next time.
Chinese New Year is a colorful spectacle, if you get where you need and when you need. In Phuket - worthy. There are many Tai Khia here - Thais with Chinese roots, who honor them and respect traditions. I'm sure it will be something to see. I won’t say about Pattaya - I don’t know how it is there. I think it's colorful too. But you need to know the places =)
аватар Waldi
it all depends on connections at the airport. How many connecting hours do you have? There is no need to book - cheap guest houses (modest but cozy hotels) are always available in most areas of the metropolis. And if the docking is small, then the hotel will not be needed.
Keep shorts, t-shirts and other clothing to a minimum. And then you will go home with a cosmic advantage. Buy so much here that your husband will then measure it for a year. You too =)
аватар Viltis
Thank you, I'm lucky you answered.
And if you miss Pattaya? Or is it better not to?
аватар Waldi
It is completely different, unlike any other corner of Thailand. So - do not deny yourself Pattaya pleasures.

I will not refuse :-) Thanks again :-)
Well, actually it turns out:
Bangkok - 2 days
Pattaya - 5 days
Phuket - 7 days.
Is it necessary to plan in advance when the tickets will be on hand? Maybe it will turn out Phuket 6 days?
It seems that you can’t stay in Thailand without a visa for more than 2 weeks?
аватар Waldi
which country do you have citizenship?
Ukraine - 15 days.
Russia - 1 month.
аватар Viltis
Smena, thank you :-) Damn, this year the New Year is right on my birthday :-)
аватар Viltis
Waldi, yes, I know, that's why they are worried about the length of stay :-(

As for excursions (I was in Phuket), the most worthwhile: the Fantasy show, something like a theater, but the performance is unreal! And most importantly, this is a two-day excursion to different islands. An expensive pleasure, there were doubts, but later I was ready to pay more for this fairy tale. Wherever we just were, the main ones that are, of course, the island of James Bond and the island from the movie "The Beach" with Leonardo DiCaprio. If you decide, you won’t regret it, out of all our vacation, out of all our many entertainments, this excursion was remembered and I recommend it to everyone.
аватар Viltis
Thank you! Let's definitely take it. I really love natural monuments, more than historical ones. How about a two day tour? Where did you spend the night? Thanks for the details.
аватар Liasik
The whole excursion is on a boat, they immediately give out pills for motion sickness, the boat is large, comfortable and beautiful, the trip does not bother you, especially since there are a lot of islands and you will walk and sunbathe and swim a lot. We spent the night on the island, honestly, I'm trying to remember what it's called, well, nothing, if I remember, I'll write. It's not empty, it's mostly full of nightlife. We spent the night in a hotel, we were all settled, the rooms are normal, but you will spend nothing there, because the island is insanely interesting and we lit it all night. There was also a fire show, went to Thai boxing, a lot of discos. Entrance is free everywhere, the only condition is that if you enter, you buy yourself something, such as a drink. This excursion also includes three meals a day (you eat in different places, but everything is very tasty), plus fruits and water are given on the boat. To be honest, I have never seen such water, or rather such purity anywhere (I'm talking about the islands), but the color !!!!! This is something extraordinary, emerald, blue, white. . .
аватар Liasik
Oh yes, of course, we jumped from a boat into the water, after the tsunami a hole formed somewhere (I don’t know what to call it more precisely) 30 meters deep, a small perimeter, although around no more than 2 meters, and of course snorkeling, this is with masks and flippers swim and view the underwater world, if you're lucky, you will see sharks (small, of course, and not dangerous)
аватар Viltis
Oh wow!!! I will definitely take this tour. Moreover, from today I started training in tai bo. I'm going to learn from experience :-)
Thanks a lot. Do you remember the name of that tour? And if you also remember the travel agency, my gratitude will know no bounds!
аватар Liasik
I don’t remember the travel agency, but Biblio Globus worked with us there, I am very pleased with them. The guides are all Russian, but they have been living in Tae for several years, so they know everything and everyone. The story is very interesting and humorous. I don't want to lie about the tour, I have a problem remembering foreign names. I remember that it was exactly two days and three islands were written (although in reality there were many more). Oh, I remember, the island from the movie "The Beach" is called Phi Phi. It seems that Krabi was also written, but I don’t remember that we stopped by it. By the way, I did not like a separate tour of Krabi and it was very tiring.. As for Thai boxing, in addition to themselves, visitors could also perform, the men fought among themselves with a bang (of course they put on protection), I’m the only girl who deigned to spar, I was even taken to the ring as if for a show (I’m only tall 159cm), but unfortunately the girls got scared and no one agreed. So if you want it yourself, it’s not a fact that they will come out.
аватар Liasik
And about the adoption of experience, at first I was also under the impression, and then I realized that a lot was done. I made friends with them (while I was being taken) and after their fight, she scolded, allegedly why they were deceiving, beautiful, but not true, to which they smiled and said that it was for tourists.
аватар Liasik
just in case, if you suddenly really go, at Biblio Globus this excursion for one person cost (I returned 2 months ago, I don’t think prices have changed) 7,700 baht (7,700 rubles, respectively), but I repeat, I would have paid more. Almost forgot! Even if you have everything paid for and food and accommodation on excursions, still take money with you, because a lot of people need to tip, plus if the locals take pictures of you, then the photos will also cost money (usually 200-300 baht ), and tips where 20, where 100 give, in different ways.
аватар Viltis
You have described everything very interesting, thank you very much!
аватар Liasik
I hope it helped! Good luck.
аватар Viltis
Very helpful, I'm already looking for this excursion on the Internet :-)
Thanks again.
аватар Liasik
I also climbed onto the Biblio Globus website, but I didn’t find it (((Only individual ones. Maybe the tour operator himself will be able to tell.
You are welcome!
аватар Waldi
This excursion is called "Three Islands".
The island where Liasik spent the night is called Phi Phi Don, the place on the island is called Tonsai Bay, or Tonsai Bay.
Question to Liasik: why didn't you like the tour to Krabi? I understand that the taste and color of all bikes are different, but in detail, if possible =))) I collect statistics of negative reviews on excursions =))
аватар Viltis
Wow!! Thank you very much. I don’t see this tour at all yet, but now I’ll at least know what to look for :-)
аватар Waldi
You won't find. I have already written everything to your personal mail. Look there. And then they will take it for advertising
аватар Viltis
Thank you. I'll take a look now
аватар Liasik
And this is a kind of advertising, advertising their emotions!
Exactly, we spent the night on the island of Phi Phi Don, there is also a Buddha tree, with huge roots.
Regarding the excursion to Krabi, we had it up to 2 days, so it faded in all emotions. Now I can already confuse a lot, because where we just haven’t been, there’s already a hodgepodge in my head, but I’ll try. The tour itself is very exhausting. All day you ride on a mini bus (like our minibuses), all parts of your body become numb. They feed only lunch, because we did not have time for breakfast at the hotel, we took it very early. I took this tour only because of elephant riding, it was cool and I also liked the temple where the huge statue of Buddha lies, but I liked it only when the monk made a wish and only again because of emotions, when he began to splash water (this is like our priests with holy water), I burst into tears, something turned everything inside, I don’t know, maybe some kind of purification. Everything else is monotonous, the temple of the White Tiger, some other temple and the symbol of the island is a large crab (iron or copper, I don’t remember), against which they were photographed, although krabi means a sword in translation. In general, the beginning is not bad, then everything is too monotonous and tiring.
