First time in Thailand. Where to go?

Please advise where to go, which resort (hotel). On the one hand, I want to see, walk around the city. On the other hand, I want to get away from the city (closer to nature). I read the reviews - a lot of negativity - dirty, damp, ants.
For the price, well, somewhere from 2 to 3 thousand bucks (for two, sorry, I don’t know the prices and write at random).
And another huge request - maybe someone went to Thailand and Vietnam (for example, or some other alternative to Thailand) - where is it better to go? I want to hear your opinion (price, service, nature, excursions).

We were in Thailand last year, we are going again this year !! The country is just a super sea of emotions)) We stayed in Pattaya, there were no ants or dirt in the hotel! You get used to the smell in the city, and I would not say that it is as terrible as they say! We went to the islands to swim - the water is crystal clear there! In terms of nutrition, I think lunch and dinner should not be taken to hotels! there is a sea of cafes and food is not expensive! Well, if you choose between other countries, now I choose only Thai !!! very exotic and beautiful country! Holidays in Turkey or Egypt can not be compared with Thailand!

We were in Thailand two years ago. We lived at the Natural Park Hotel in Jomitien. The hotel has a nice green area, quite large. We took one breakfast. Quite decent, a set of products as always. baht (about a hundred rubles) you can eat together and drink two bottles of local beer. Buy excursions only on the street, exactly two times cheaper. Moscow is quite tiring. This is the only negative!

Are you going to relax or see, decide? How many days? If you look, the hotel is cheaper. Relax, the hotel is more expensive. We were in Pattaya. The hotel paid only for breakfast, lunch and dinner anywhere. A normal lunch and dinner of fish dishes +2 beers cost us from 400 to 700 baht. Taught by bitter experience, excursions were taken from their agent from Sayama Travel. Kwai, Bangkok, the yacht (monkey island) cost us $700. Excursion to Cambodia is exhausting. Have a good rest.

I’ve been to Thailand 5 times, all in Pattaya, in a few days I’m flying to Phuket, but I advise you to go to Pattaya first, I’ve been in Garden Sea View 4 * hotels (next to it, by the way, there is a Zign 5 * hotel beautiful inside) they are in the north are located, but far from the center as I recall, I didn’t like the Balitaya hotel at all, I would give it less than 3 * due to the lack of territory completely, just a building and a tiny pool, but it is located in the very center, everything is very close and from the hotel they take free buses to the pier every day, I was also at the Botany Beach hotel, a very good hotel, a large beautiful area, but it is very far from the center, it takes about half an hour to go by tuk-tuk, maybe more, with a change, of course I didn’t like it, I liked the Island View 3 * hotel, I was there 2 times, it is located in the south of the city on a hill, not far from the center and from the pier, from which everyone goes to the nearest Koh Lan island, because in Pattaya itself many people don’t like the sea , although this hotel (Island View) is quite good beach, a lot of cafes on the street, in general, everything is fine there, from excursions I advise the Kwai River for 2 days, Nong Nooch Garden and some island, Samet for example. You will fall in love with Thailand, I assure you! So go boldly!

For the first time, in Pattaya, combine both the city and nature - excursions. You can tour Pattaya + Koh Chang (island-beach felting). There are a lot of combinations of tours, but this is already for the next trip :) If you prefer an active holiday, in Pattaya, take a hotel in the center, breakfast. Who is dirty, damp and ants, let them go to Turkey. The price for two 2000 is only from Moscow, but of course you can meet 3000 (how many days?).
