I rested at the Aslanbey Hotel with my mother from August 16 to 29.2009. I really want to write a detailed review for the reasons that I will indicate below. If someone has no time to read, go straight to the conclusion.
On the evening of August 15, I read a review about the hotel, with a promising headline: "Thanks for ruining my vacation! ". And she was horrified! The photo of the stairs leading to the sea looked especially creepy. But there was no way to change the hotel. I had to go, internally shuddering.
We arrived at the hotel at 4 am. The person who met us did not speak Russian, but was friendly, polite, took us to a room overlooking the sea. Then he explained quite clearly in English how to turn on the air conditioner, wrote down the opening hours of the restaurant and bars. I was not too lazy to ask questions, frightened by an unflattering review. He said: “There will be problems, press “0” on the phone, tell me the room number, I will come up, ” and left, wishing good night. But I was under the negative impression of the review, so there was no time for sleep: you need to see the “creepy” stairs! At 4.30 in the morning (! ) I went to look at it, as a good beach for me is one of the prerequisites for a normal vacation. The steps of the stairs are wide, not steep, the first flight is lit with lanterns. Between the second and third bays there is a platform with a bar, which was also lit that night. There was enough light to see the stairs, I did not see the cliff. But I still didn’t dare to go down the third flight at night: a terrible photograph with a cliff stood in front of my eyes.

In the morning I considered the road to the beach. The width of the road is approximately 10 meters. The flow of cars is large, but the traffic is one-way. We didn't experience any problems crossing the road. The stairs are old but reliable. The descent is gentle, tireless. Once I was vacationing in the Crimea and I know that the descent to the sea is much more difficult there. After the first flight of stairs - clean toilets. There was no bad smell, no rubbish. The bar area is small, but there was enough space for everyone. Only here the alcohol in the bar on the beach is paid. But most importantly: the stairs are not at all as terrible as the one in the photo! The last span without a railing, but NO CLIP! Of course, it would be unpleasant to fall, but during the two weeks of our stay no one fell, neither the elderly nor small children: the stairs are wide enough, the steps are gentle. The entire journey from the room to the beach took 7 minutes. Of course, with a broken leg, it's hard to go to this beach. If you are planning an extreme vacation with possible injuries, it is better to choose another hotel. If you do not plan to break your legs, I think the way to the beach will not be difficult. The beach is small but cozy, there were enough sun loungers and umbrellas for everyone. Only a beach towel needs to be taken from home: there are none on the beach, but it’s a pity to take it from the room: they are so white, then they won’t be washed off. Nearby is Cleopatra's cave. And the Cleopatra beach is nearby. I went to our beach to swim at night. The first flight of stairs is always lit, the second and third were lit on those evenings when there was animation in the beach bar. But I also walked in the dark: I really like to swim. And if you don’t forget to take your phone with you, you can light the way for them too... But are all the streets in Russia lit up? Sometimes you have to go not only in the dark, but also on ice. And it never slipped! In general, I'm not picky: if only the sea was clean.
From morning until 7-8 pm there is a person who speaks fluent Russian at the reception desk. All wishes can be expressed in Russian, and they will, if possible, be fulfilled. Another manager speaks good English. All hotel staff are friendly, friendly, but unobtrusive. They speak a little English, German, but in any case they try to understand and fulfill all wishes: my mother does not know foreign languages, but she did not experience any inconvenience. The hotel staff tried to guess all her wishes. They are very attentive to vacationers, quickly eliminate the slightest technical inconvenience. Never had a problem with the cold water supply. Hot water was turned off once, but for us it was not a big problem: cold 40◦ . After the repair of the installation, hot water was available from 9 am until late in the evening. When the air conditioner broke down in our room, they changed the room for us, providing a choice of all available rooms. Helped move things and apologized for the inconvenience. When my mother got sick (NOT POISONING! ), the Russian representatives of the insurance company reacted, in my opinion, not fast enough (by the way, my call to Russia from the hotel was free). Noticing that I was nervous, the hotel manager asked in English: "What's the problem? " I explained. He replied: “Give me an insurance policy, I will call the hospital myself and invite a doctor, without waiting for a response from Russia. ” The doctor, who arrived 10 minutes later, spoke excellent Russian, and turned out to be a good specialist: the very next day, my mother again swam in the sea. And everyone was interested in the state of mother's health: not only Russian tourists, but also managers, bartenders, waiters, masseurs, maids. None of the staff remained indifferent. Therefore, recalling the unflattering review, I could not understand: how could a woman lie in a room with poisoning for three days without assistance from the hotel workers ? ! Perhaps she forgot to dial "0" on the phone that hangs above the bed and ask for help... After all, the staff cannot track all the tourists: they left the room today or three days ago. And if you forget to remove the sign: "Do Not Disturb", none of the staff will dare to enter the room.
Contrary to my fears (it was scary to eat after such a review), the cook did not poison anyone. On the contrary, he cooked very tasty food. (Perhaps the woman did not have poisoning, but her body's reaction to prolonged exposure to the sun? ) The food is varied, the pastries are good. And I liked sweets too. I was used to eating fruits in an incredible amount, so what was in the restaurant was not enough for me. I went to Konakli: there on Wednesdays the bazaar is a day when fruits and vegetables are sold at ridiculous prices (in Alanya the bazaar is on Fridays, you can ask the locals for directions to the bazaar). Came back with lots of fruit. This was noticed by a worker who speaks Russian. He said, “I'm sorry. I'm very embarrassed. Now I will make sure that there are more fruits. ” And kindly provided a place in the refrigerator. No juices, though. There is Cola, Sprite, Fanta, cherry drink, mineral water. I don't drink lemonade. But she didn’t suffer from thirst, because all the bars have very tasty tea: apple, lemon, mint, chamomile, green, hibiscus. We went to Konakli or Alanya to drink fresh orange juice: the hotel is located on the highway 5 km from Konakli and 7 km from the center of Alanya. Fans of long walks even went to these settlements on foot. I went by bus for 1-2 lira.
The rooms have been recently refurbished. Everything is simple, but convenient. Room cleaning was daily. When the maid first appeared on the doorstep, I again remembered the unpleasant review: the rag stinks. Specially sniffing a rag, of course, did not occur to me. But with my heightened sense of smell, this is not necessary: if there was an unpleasant smell, I would immediately feel it. DID NOT HAVE! There was a slight and not unpleasant smell of a disinfectant solution. The maid is very nice and kind, although she only speaks English. But this did not interfere with her work: the room was always clean. And we tried not to interfere with her: we left the room so as not to get under her feet and not delay her.

The masseurs in the bathhouse at the hotel are very good. I can say this with confidence: I regularly go for massages in Russia, and my mother herself graduated from massage courses. I had a massage with both Mamet (who was praised in the hotel review) and Murat. The massage was done very well by both. Mamet speaks English, Murat speaks Russian. I opted for Murata, as his upbringing and manner of communication are more pleasant to me than Mameta. But my ideas about good upbringing are subjective, and upbringing does not affect professional qualities: both do massage very well! I recommend everyone to take a full course of massage.
I can’t say anything about animation, because I don’t need it. In the evenings, I preferred to walk around the old town in Alanya. But I know that discos were organized in the hotel, there was a fire show. There was a beach disco with a yacht trip to Konakli in "Summer garden" (an open-air disco, which is praised by Russians, Czechs, Turks, and Germans). Some tourists went to discos in Alanya.
CONCLUSION:
- the hotel is new, located in a quiet place (buses run every 5 minutes to Alanya and Konakli)
- air conditioners work
- no problems with water supply
- the room has a telephone, hair dryer
- room cleaning daily
- varied food
- tasty beer
- the wine from the refrigerator is good, I didn’t like it from the barrel: a bit too much alcohol (but this is my subjective opinion: many tourists drank with pleasure)
- the beach is small but clean and cozy
- no beach towels, bring from home
- alcohol in the beach bar is paid, other drinks are free
- the beach is across a narrow one-way road, but it is better for small children to cross the road accompanied by their parents (although, I think, parents do not let small children go to the beach alone)
- stairs leading to the beach, gently sloping and safe
- highly qualified massage therapists
- Internet
- small pool
- in the pool bar alcohol is free until 23.00, in the second bar - until 22.00
- STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY, POLITE, FRIENDLY. EVERYONE IS TRYING TO MAKE OUR HOLIDAY PLEASANT.

And again I want to return to the negative review. Fortunately, none of my fears were confirmed. We had a great two weeks vacation! Maybe a positive attitude is important. . . Or maybe it is necessary to realize that when choosing a hotel with a 3-star category, you need to be prepared for the fact that minor inconveniences may arise. It seems to me that because of this you should not get annoyed, spoil the mood for yourself and the hotel workers. All unpleasant little things should not be shy to voice: the staff readily comes to the rescue. Most importantly, ask questions, express wishes. Of course, they are not able to move the road and remove the stairs. But that's why the hotel has 3 stars. Service is 5!! ! Perhaps my mother and I are picky, so we all really enjoyed it. It seems to me that people who are very whimsical should not opt for “three rubles” so as not to spoil their vacation, not to upset hotel employees and not to scare other tourists with negative reviews. Tour operators have a large selection of 5-star, 5-star-ultra, and even 7-star hotels. Therefore, if you want an extremely comfortable stay, you can opt for one of these hotels: there will be a beach at the doorstep of the room, and a towel on the beach, and huge restaurants, and constant room service, and water delivery to the room without prior notice. requests, and even laundry will be washed. But for a different price. The Aslanbey hotel has a good value for money: yes, the beach is across the road and there are no beach towels, yes, the hotel is far from the center, but the rooms are good, the food is varied and tasty, and most importantly - VERY GOOD STAFF. My mother and I are very grateful to all the hotel staff for the pleasure we received from a wonderful holiday.
I was not too lazy to write a detailed and long review about the hotel. Firstly, I want to reassure tourists who, like me, first bought tickets, then read a disgusting review. After reading my review, you will understand that you have bought tickets to a good hotel. And I also noticed: there are a lot of good reviews, but they are all short, and one bad one, but long, so it sticks in my memory. It is a pity that when we feel good, we talk about it briefly and without details. But if you don’t like something, we are ready to pour tons of negativity! Therefore, secondly, I do not want to look ungrateful to the staff, who spent two weeks only trying to make our holiday enjoyable. And I want everyone who reads my review to have a good opinion about the hotel. Because the hotel is really good. I wish you all a pleasant holiday!
