We woke up at 4 am, because the next bus left Poltava at 2 pm. To go about 2 hours, the ticket costs about 60 UAH, the road was good, we also slept a little on the bus.
Our local coordinators, Natalia and Roma, were waiting for us at the bus station. We were immediately fed a delicious breakfast and a portion of stories about the village.

Then we settled in the living room on "Khutor" in a real Ukrainian mazanka, I decided to spend the night today on the stove.

Then we had a trip to the Poltava Center of the Ukrainian Leadership Academy. Children from 16 to 20 years old study here for 10 months, travel a lot, do social and business projects, develop in every way to become leaders of Ukraine. We were sincerely glad to communicate with such active youth.
Afterwards we had a tour of the village. Krasnopil (the old name of the village Velyki Sorochyntsi) has been mentioned since 1660, so it has a long history.
There were many estates of Cossack officers. Hetman of the Left Bank of Ukraine Danylo Apostol also had an estate here.
In 1734, the Church of the Transfiguration was built at his request.
This church currently has the tallest wooden iconostasis in Ukraine, it reaches a height of 7 meters!
In 1809, the well-known prose writer and playwright Mykola V. Gogol was born near the house of doctor M. Ya. Trokhimovsky. On March 22 (April 3), 1809, he was baptized in the Church of the Transfiguration. The godfather was Colonel MM Trokhimovsky, the son of doctor M. Ya. Trokhimovsky, who gave birth to Gogol's mother. The National Museum-Reserve of Nikolai Gogol, where I visited, is now located in the city where the writer was born.
Preserves about 4 thousand exhibits: personal belongings of M. Gogol, drawings, poems, first editions of works, photocopies of manuscripts, photographs, works by artists I. Repin, P. Korovin, I. Kramsky, K. Trutovsky, V. Makovsky , Kukriniks, M. Deregus and masters of folk art.
Then we visited the site of the famous National Sorochyn Fair, which takes place every year - the last Saturday and Sunday of August.
Since 1999, it has acquired the status of a national event by Presidential Decree. Be sure to come! Here are concerts and master classes and interesting products of folk artists!
In general, the village has very beautiful fences and huts, very cozy and quiet.
Dinner was waiting for us in Georgian style in the restaurant "Djigit", I love Georgian cuisine, so for me it was a real feast of the stomach, khachapuri in Adjara was yummy, yummy, which is delicious! ))
After a good meal we went to spend the night and prepare for a trip to Velyki Sorochyntsi.
