We arrived in Uman from Legedzina in the morning. About 20 km, we went by bus.

We started our journey through the so-called Hasidic Quarter. It was as if we had moved to Israel. All the signs, store names and advertisements here were in Hebrew, as well as street names.

Next we visited the synagogue, where the body of the Hasidic spiritual leader Tzaddik Rabbi Nachman from Bratslav is located.

That is why every year more than 30 thousand pilgrims from different countries come to Uman. They usually celebrate the New Year loudly here. The Hasidim consider it their duty to visit the tomb of Tzaddik Nachman at least once in their lives.

They also believe that if they celebrate the New Year of Rosh Hashanah at his grave, then the next year will be very happy for them. Hasidism (translated as "righteousness") is a branch of Judaism. Ironically, Rabbi Beshta, who lived in the town of Medzhibizh in what is now Khmelnytsky Oblast, is considered to be the founder of Hasidism. He created his own doctrine, according to which, above all, religious ecstasy was applied, not the verses of the Talmud. The fact that an illiterate Jew could be closer to God than the most skilful doctrine was liked by the population, and very soon the number of Hasidim began to exceed the number of classical Jews. Hasidism rejected all rituals, even visiting the synagogue. When the Hasidim come to Uman, housing prices rise and the local population has the opportunity to earn a penny.

But not everyone is happy with such earnings, many complain about the slovenliness of guests, and there are still legends that they sacrifice animals, etc.

We heard different rumors, we did not see anything)

Then we had an exciting master class in pottery. It seems that I will turn home into a real folk master.

The master class was conducted by a very young Grandpa Panas. We have made even more gifts for our loved ones)

Then we visited the picture gallery upstairs, some of the authors even managed to catch there.

After us there was a tour of the dungeons of Vasilevsky Monastery, from a very cool and charismatic guide. The only thing you want to warn about is that it is cold underground, so dress warmly and enjoy.

After the dungeon we were driven to a press conference, where Uman journalists were tired of waiting for us))

And finally, we could not miss the tourist highlight of the city - Sofia Park.

In honor of Uman Park even named planets (planet number 2259 since 1985 is officially called "Sofiyivka"), dedicated to him works (Stanislav Trembetsky, the poem "Zofió wka"). There is something to tell about it, and there is something to see.

About half a million people a year come to see this miracle of park construction every year.

The total area of Sofia Park in Uman is 179.2 hectares. It is decorated with statues of ancient gods (Apollo, Cupid, baths - Venus), heroes (Paris, Orpheus) and philosophers (Socrates, Homer, Euripides, Aristotle), picturesque bridges, gazebos, ponds. Sofiyivka also has the Champs Elysees, the Parterre Amphitheater, and much more. In the park you can see many wonders, such as the Snake Fountain - the most beautiful and original of all Sofia fountains. It is arranged in the middle of the Lower Lake. A column of water up to 20 meters high breaks out of the wide open mouth of a giant snake. Truly an unforgettable spectacle!

We stopped for the night in the hotel-restaurant complex "Koliba", located near the forest, and everything is made of wood. We liked it here. And tomorrow Beech trees are waiting for us.
