About life in the forest and the oldest academy.

Our day today was very bright, varied and interesting.

We had almost no time in the morning, but in this case we always have a quick and hearty breakfast from iidlo. com. Today I ate oatmeal with dried apricots. And Sergei - exotic buckwheat porridge with seaweed.

We started the day in Ostroh, where we went to the book museum in the morning.

In the Lutsk Tower, in the center is a book museum and there are real treasures! Entrance fee - 20 UAH.

We thought we would fall asleep walking through the cool corridors of the museum and absorbing monotonous information.

But we were very surprised and glad that we found the guide very interesting, and the exhibits were able to surprise us.

The museum consists of 3 floors, on the ground floor the oldest copies of books. 98% of the exhibits in the museum are original books.

I was very impressed with the books. Here is a handwritten Gospel, which is already 500 years old! Just imagine, the book is 500 years old! She has seen so many centuries, so many events, changes of kings and epochs! It is impossible to imagine and feel without being in a museum. Only when you see this book, see these letters and years, can you feel the tingling on your skin.

Of course, there are many exhibits related to the printing house of Ivan Fedorov. But it is in this museum that one can see that Fedorov was not the first to publish books in Ukraine. Books published in Lviv a few years before the printing house were found!

There are books written up to 1500 years ago - incunambala. And they are wonderful!

The museum also keeps another Ostroh Bible. Surprisingly, there are no typos on such a huge number of pages.

We left our autographs and impressions in the museum!

By the way, the museum staff came up with a great way to attract people and new books - "Book challenge". They pass each other a set of books. If you have been given a challenge, you must bring a book to the museum and pass on the challenge! So now the challenge is behind you!

And now the academy. Locals say that without the academy there would be no Ostrog here now.

The famous Ostroh Academy was opened in the 16th century. But first she was near the castle, closer to the prince. And now the academy on the site of the old Capuchin monastery.

Anyone can walk around the academy.

Our coordinator Valentina agreed on a tour of the corridors of this school. And without a tour it would be clearly more boring and nothing is clear.

Initially, only boys could study at the academy and studied here for 10 years. About times about customs!

The most famous graduate of the academy is, of course, Petro Sagaidachny.

Currently, about 1.5-2 thousand students at 6 faculties will study at the university. Yes, students are called that.

The most popular specialties are journalism, German philology and law.

On the territory of the academy there is a temple, a dungeon and a museum.

In the dungeons, I even managed to freeze. Bring a jacket even on a hot day.

Capuchins used to be buried in dungeons and now there are their burials and remains. Awful little.

But it's time to say goodbye to Ostrog and go to Slavuta.

There are minibuses that go directly, but they rarely go. Therefore, we took a more difficult path: first we reached Netishyn, and there we immediately moved to a minibus to Slavuta. A ticket from Ostroh to Netishyn costs UAH 10, and from Netishyn to Slavuta UAH 12.

In an hour we have already left the bus station in Slavuta.

And here we fell into the safe hands of the public organization "League of Active Slavutych".

Although the town of Slavuta is not big and not everyone knows what to see here, the guys showed us interesting places.

Slavuta is famous for its pine forests, many factories and the Sangushka family. And this is not only a beer with this name, but also a famous Polish family. Sangushki lived in Slavuta and after them some of their possessions remained here.

Famous for a little 400 years.

Therefore, there is a potential that can be developed and attract tourists.

But so far tourists rarely come here.

In recent years, the guys from the league began to hold the festival "Art in Ruins" and are actively involved in the development of the city. Sometimes it seems to me that only thanks to such active inhabitants our cities can somehow develop and not be covered with mold. Because the government does hundreds of times less than these guys.

We visited the park in Slavuta, where the festival usually takes place. The children even showed us the remains of underground passages. There used to be underground passages the size of carriages connecting Ostrog, Slavuta and Izyaslav.

We were able to get to the Catholic church. Usually the church is open only on Sundays, and the guard on other days is responsible for the service and does not let anyone. But we managed to walk near the cathedral and even get inside.

The border with Poland immediately ran behind the church. And smuggling flourished in the region. And the most famous smuggler in these parts was Ostap Bender! Yes, the same. He even erected a memorial stone to him at the place where he crossed the border according to the first version of the book. Locals say that there are many traces of the prototype of Ostap Bender here, and there are even his descendants.

And we became a bit of a roofer and climbed to the roof of the shopping center, were able to see the waterfront, the longest bench in Ukraine and the forests that stretch for many kilometers.

And our evening ended quite unusually! You may think that we have come to another hotel or dormitory. But no.

Today we are received in tents on the shores of the Blue Lakes.

This is the favorite place of the guys and they try to come here for picnics every week.

On the way we visited the Chetvertinsky Palace. There was a prince who married a young girl and decided to somehow test her fidelity. He returned earlier than scheduled and found her with a lover. Out of grief, he drank acetic acid and threw himself out of the window of his palace. Now the palace is in disrepair, no one is doing it. And in the walls of this palace, his master and his beloved still live, but in the form of ghosts.

And, it turns out, under Slavuta there is a tunnel of love. Everyone knows only Klevan. But here we were shown such a cool tunnel.

And here we are in a pine forest. Beautiful clean air, lakes, tents, bonfires, guitar and barbecues!

I even mustered up the courage to go swimming in the lake.

The water was warm and so great to bathe in the morning sun.

I haven't been to a campsite in a long time.

In our intense schedule, it was a real shock of emotion and relaxation.

Of course, there is no electricity and internet in the forest, so in the evening there was a real vacation without reports, Wi-Fi and computer =) And only mosquitoes tried to distract us from the forest relaxation!

Thank you very much to all the guys from the league for such a holiday and new experiences on our route! And for a warm tent with sleeping bags =)
