As you already know from the name, today we plunged into Zhytomyr.

What do you know about this city? The only thing that comes to my mind are Zhytomyr socks and Korolyov. I saw both. But not only that.

From Berdychiv there are minibuses to Zhytomyr from the railway car. Walk often. Ticket price 24-27 hryvnias.

We went to the entrance to the city, and our coordinator - Anya met us there. Immediately at the entrance is an old music factory. A few years ago there was an art festival and since then murals and graffiti have remained on houses. It immediately reminded me of the Malaysian city of Georgetown with its murals. There are all sorts of cool things!

And then we went for a walk in Zhytomyr.

We are so used to small towns that the presence of trams and trolleybuses even surprised us.

The tram took us to the city center. A tour of the city is conducted by a fan of his city and history - Yura. I really like people who know how to charge with the positive, charge with the love for what they do. Yura perfectly managed to convey to us the atmosphere and sympathy for the city.

We started the tour to the Castle Hill. Once there was a mountain, rocks and Prince Zhytomyr, according to one legend, decided to found a city here.

Unfortunately, Zhytomyr burned many times and was destroyed many times, so there is not a single castle left. Like other old buildings in the city. The city is over 1000 years old, and the oldest buildings are only 19th century.

We passed the Holy Dormition Cathedral, which used to be home to a mammoth stuffed animal.

We walked down the theater street and found a heart-shaped house.

And this house is cool because on the one hand it is a house-wall, as in Odessa, and on the other hand it is a heart.

We also saw an interesting building called Lawyer. At the time when Zhytomyr was a Polish city, a Jesuit mission was sent here to spread Catholicism. The Jesuits were given a place for a monastery in the center of the city. And they built a city within a city there. And because the monks did not pay taxes, but produced many products, the locals always wanted to cover up the law. And with the advent of the tsarist period it was possible to do.

But thanks to this law, Zhytomyr received the status of a regional center. To obtain this status, the city needs a prison. And when it came to granting this status to Zhytomyr or Novgorod-Volyn, they began to look for where the prison is. She was not there either. But in Zhytomyr there was a law school and a monastery, whose cells are easily converted into prison cells.

We were also shown a monument to Bulgakov's hero - Lariosik from Zhytomyr.

Unfortunately, the weather did not accompany us and it rained almost all day, then increasing, then decreasing.

Walking around the city, you can collect murals and do your quest. There is even an alphabet of the city - the houses are painted in different letters. A great idea for the quest is to gather the right word.

We waited for the rain on the main pedestrian street Mykhailivska. And in the afternoon we went to the place that is the first on the list to visit in Zhytomyr - the Museum of Astronautics.

This is a cool museum! Entrance fee - 20 UAH. But unlike those museums where we have been, you can walk for a long time, see the exhibits, watch and listen.

The topic of space has always been interesting to me.

And in the museum you can clearly learn about the first flights of dogs, the legendary Squirrel and Arrow, Gagarin and, of course, the rockets and spaceships of the Queen.

Among the exhibits are models of satellites, moonwalkers, and there are originals. Here you can touch the ships, capsules, look into the capsule that returned the astronauts from orbit. There are also new exhibits donated by astronaut Kadenyuk.

After the museum we went to the suspension bridge. We were told that this is the highest suspension bridge in Ukraine. But we could not verify this fact, so let's believe the word =)

The bridge overlooks the Teteriv River, the dam and the forest. According to the plan of the bridge, it was to lead to the other shore before the continuation of Gagarin Park, and this park was to end near the Monument of Glory. But something went wrong and now the bridge leads straight to the woods.

I was also very impressed by the water tower in the city center. Against the background of other buildings in the district, it somehow stands out.

It's a pity you can't get inside right now.

And our walk in the center of the city, on Mykhailivska Street, ended. Today there is a concert in honor of young people. I learned about many new bands. I lagged behind the youth trends. We met the guys, danced, listened to music and went to rest at midnight.

And here are the top places in Zhytomyr:

- Mykhailivska Street - the main pedestrian street of the city

- The head of Chad is a rock where locals like to gather. This rock is located right next to the dam and from it everyone jumps into the water. It offers a great view

- Museum of Astronautics

- Suspension Bridge

- Castle Hill and Law

- Hydropark

- Water Tower
