About rocks, forgotten palace and songs.
In the morning we went to the village of Denishi. Minibuses come here from Zhytomyr. Fare 10-11 hryvnias.
In the village of Denishi we had a local song contest. A new stage was opened here and on the new stage today in honor of Youth Day and in connection with our arrival there is a competition. This is the 11th year in a row that Denish has held such a competition. Children from the surrounding villages come here to show their talents. This is great! And while the children are singing, adults can watch master classes, eat kebabs, walk in the park. And it's great that these guys have alternatives to leisure and a place to come and relax!
We were, of course, met according to all the canons of Ukrainian hospitality: fed, watered, invited to the stage, showed master classes.
And after bread and spectacles we went to see the surroundings. Roads here, oh May! Probably, we were thrown so hard only in the area of Synevyr.
There is a palace here - the Tereshchenko Palace. The Tereshchenko family were sugar magnates who could afford to keep many palaces and estates in Ukraine.
They were so rich that they arranged sleigh rides in the summer, sprinkled with sugar.
Here in the village of Denishi was one of their estates. It used to be a beautiful palace, where all the nobles came for balls and festivities.
And now ...unfortunately, now it's just ruins.
About 10 years ago, the palace was bought into private ownership, but nothing was done with it.
But tourists come here to look at the remains of the main entrance, the remains of the tower and take glamorous photos.
We are no exception =)
It is very convenient to come to Denis and visit several more objects along the route. After the Tereshchenko Palace you can go to the dam.
There is a large dam here, and rocks next to it. These rocks are popular among climbers and in summer there are many fans of extreme sports.
Now we did not notice the climbers, but there were many lovers of sunbathing and fishing.
Actually, the water is not very clean and I would not swim here. But the nature around is very beautiful.
And right next to the dam there is another cool place. Huge ancient oaks grow here. 5 oaks over 30 meters high and about 5-6 meters in volume.
One of the largest is the Oak Patriarch. We even tried to cover it all together.
The same way, if you move deeper, you get to the village of Trigirya and the monastery. Holy Transfiguration Monastery. The year of its foundation is unknown. But there is a date on the wall of the cathedral - 1925.
Here you can walk along the paths, go down to the water, admire the scenery, rocks.
From Trigoria we went back to Zhytomyr.
On the way back, we came out near the Glory Memorial. A huge monument to those killed in the war, eternal fire and the descent to the dam.
I was surprised that locals like to swim here. Water is not attractive at all. But the scenery is very beautiful. And the sound of water pouring tons from the dam is soothing.
Even today, in cloudy weather, there were picnics and vacationers. Well, in the sun probably a lot of people.
We spent our evening in a pizzeria, analyzing our impressions of the city.
My opinion of Zhytomyr has changed.
It used to seem to me that it was very gray here and there was nothing to do. But murals, cozy streets, monuments, interesting buildings and people were able to change my mind. Of course, there is no tourist flow here yet, and we need to work on it. But here are the most interesting places, legends, history. And if you take the neighborhood, you can spend 2-3 days, discovering new places.
