The roads are good. Motels are inexpensive and comfortable. Why not? My route was from New Haven (Connecticut) to Niagara, then New York and down through all sorts of Georgia and the Carolinas. All the way south to Florida. Stayed for 2 days only in Daytona near Miami. He met in 11 days, though he did not get to Washington. Drove at night in the fog congresses from the highway.
