Near Pattaya Park, or rather the park of this hotel with fun slides that rumble and squeal, but in general, such a neighborhood did not interfere. Air conditioners blow decently, you can't leave them working all night. We slept with an open balcony, though the mosquitoes bit us. people at night by the pool did not fool around, it was quiet. Quiet music starts playing at 6 am. The entire period of stay sang New Year's songs children's choir (in English, of course). I think it's not in the New Year season, the music changes
Breakfast, as in all hotels, is always bacon, eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, juices, vegetables, fruits, pastries, rice, soups and a couple of dishes changed, those of the type with meat. In the restaurant, a salad from 200 baht, the second from 400. True, the portion is decent.
The territory is well-groomed, plumeria blooming everywhere, we swam in the pool in the evening (no one forbade it), the aroma was fabulous (if there was no breeze). And with the breeze, it’s also interesting - a building with a Thai style - on the roofs . . I don’t know what to call them - not the main building, but let’s say the protruding part of the hall... bells, not the “wind music”, but bronze, very melodic .
Next, the pool, by the standards of Thai hotels, is huge! very clean, pleasantly smelling of chlorine (and how could it be without it? a guarantee that there is no infection, this smell soothes me so much). It is not poisonous, no, it is slightly felt. Even with a long swim in the pool (I do not mean, of course, children who can jump into it for hours), there is no characteristic effect on the skin. Sun loungers with umbrellas, but not many. Upon arrival, there were few people in the hotel, a third of Europeans, a third of Chinese, but by the 30th, compatriots arrived - in the morning, sun loungers occupied with towels, on which no one could appear in a day, we take two towels, why are we going to lie on one, spread two! The sun loungers were all occupied, there were not enough towels. After a couple of days, the Thais entered the situation, everything was fine with the towels.
The sea is outside the hotel right away, which is very convenient. we lay by the pool on sun loungers and went to the sea to swim, again, until the people at the hotel increased. The sun loungers were 50 baht, the people were added 80. The beach is generally clean, the sea is normal, bright at high tide, muddy at low tide. I believe that we have a rare body of water that has such transparency, except perhaps mountain rivers and lakes. With my height of 170 cm, I could see my legs, there was no household garbage. On the beach, of course, merchants do not bother much, "madam buy", you say no, they move on. Of course, it’s better when no one bothers, and you don’t have to say “no” every minute, which is why I chose sun loungers on the territory, and swimming in the sea.
Get from the hotel to the city by taxi. I think if you find 100 thousand to go to this hotel, there will be another thousand to ride in a taxi. It didn’t cause me anxiety or inconvenience, I still don’t know how to ride their tuk-tuks: it’s not clear where I’m going and I don’t navigate the terrain to understand where I can get off it, but I calmly drove by taxi. 150-200 baht, this is to the center. Don’t give it MORE, taxis hang out at the festival, ask for 400-500 baht . . you step aside, wave to an empty tuk-tuk and it’s 150 baht, if you bargain, you’ll take it.
Of the main inconveniences of the hotel, a kilometer (maybe a little less) on foot, you have to go to the nearest cafes (on Russian street, which goes from Pattaya Park). where they sell fruit. For some reason they don’t sell green pineapples there (if the Thais understood me correctly, and I call them pineapples patavier, but I didn’t check with other merchants for correctness). Sell yellow oblong, and yellow round. Greens are sold only near the Mike shopping mall, but expensive - 40 baht per kg, but they are very juicy and already transparent!... saliva flowed from the memory. Be sure to try these pineapples. They differ from yellows (yellows can also be green) in that they are smoother, and the yellow variety is very bumpy.
There will be questions both about the hotel and the country, write, I will definitely answer
To go to Pattaya for about two hours, all the time the guide told interesting and useful things, we arrived not stressfully. Having stopped at two hotels, they brought us to Grand Heritage. Already entering the hotel, I realized that everything would be super. Quite a large area, a lot of greenery, through reception. Within 10 minutes we were settled, took a deposit of $ 100, I was reminded of a welcome cocktail and went to look at the room. The room is large, about 50 meters, everything is there! Large bathroom, bathtub and shower. (the bathroom was never used) Daily change of linen, towels and bathrobes. Toothbrushes, combs and shampoos were replenished every day, by the time we left we had a battery of this stuff. Two bottles of 0.5 liters of drinking water were daily. Minibar for a fee, I put everything on the table on the first day, and the refrigerator was used for its intended purpose. Nothing was charged upon check out! On the balcony there is a wooden table and chairs, a clothes dryer.
The hotel is built with the letter P, all rooms look at the pool and the sea, in my opinion there are no bad views. We lived in the Ocean view room, this is a direct view of the sea, it is better to stay from the 5th to the 7th floor, because the trees cover the sea on the lower floors, but the view is still wonderful! Lagoon view rooms with access to the pool (only 1st floor) and Garden view rooms with access to the pool area (1st floor). They have their sun loungers on the terrace, but the sun does not get there.
Two large two-level pools, with hydromassage and fountains + pool with access from the Lagoon View rooms with hydromassage. Around the pools are wooden deck chairs with mattresses and sun umbrellas. Wooden and stone flooring along the pools, everything around is in palm trees, magnolias and other vegetation. From the wind, magnolia flowers fall into the pool, which adds romance and exoticism. The pool has a bar with drinks and snacks, they also give out towels. Towels are turquoise, clean, without extraneous stains and holes.
At the lower pool there is a restaurant where breakfasts are served. Everything is beautiful, stylish, clean and, most importantly, tasty and varied! Eggs in different types, cereals, sliced vegetables for salads, 2-3 types of pasta with fillers (vegetables, seafood, meat, eggs), rice, 3 types of soups + different additives to them, meat and chicken sausages, yogurt, fruits, baking, etc. , I don't remember. Everything is constantly updated! Juices, cold tea. Hot tea and coffee (not tasty), we drank our coffee in the room. In the evening you can eat at the hotel, but it turns out more expensive than in the city + another % for service. The hotel is very quiet, nice and clean. We went to the territory of neighboring hotels, we didn’t like it very much - noisy, dirty, darkness for people, everything was somehow shabby. (my personal opinion! , no offense) When leaving the hotel, the promenade (pedestrian path) and the beach. The beach is not wide, tall trees grow, many sunbeds, paid, the sand is removed. The sea is muddy, but there is NO dirt and foreign smells!
It smells like the usual sea, algae and coral. In Egypt, Greece and other countries, the smell of the sea is similar! I didn’t see any garbage and dirt, leaves, sticks and algae floated, the usual natural “garbage”, not critical. I was very pleased with the hotel! It was a pity to leave him on excursions. Of the 12 days we spent less than half the time at the hotel, it’s good to go to relax, and for trips and walks around Pattaya it’s better to choose a simpler hotel, it won’t be so insulting !! ! Excursions and trips will describe in the continuation of the review! The Pattaya Park Hotel is located nearby, Russian Street goes from it to the intersection with the intersection, where tuk-tuks go to the center of Pattaya and to its northern part. The center and large shopping centers can be reached in 10 baht. There are many restaurants, massage parlors, travel agencies, exchangers on Russkaya Street. There is a large beautiful massage parlor "Orchid" with spa programs.
We often had dinner on this street, and we booked all excursions in the Reka Tour travel agency there. A Russian girl Ksenia works there, we told her our wishes for excursions, she made a schedule for us, gave recommendations and made a discount. Their prices for excursions are much lower than those of Tour Operators. All our trips went off with a bang, without punctures and complications. From the River tour we went for 2 days to Koh Kood (Coconut Island), to Bangkok, for 2 days to the Kwai River + Ayutthaya + 7 level Erawan waterfall, Tiffany show. We walked along Volkin Street several times, got on the weekend, there is a night market + Music Festival. Noise, crowds, Thai food is fried at every step, everything is immediately sold from underpants to shoes, t-shirts lure customers, bars and restaurants invite to their place, Go-go shows, striptease bars are full of stuffing for every taste. Fun at first, then boring.
My friends and I went to a restaurant on the embankment, various sea delicacies swim in the aquariums, shrimp of all sizes, lobsters, different fish, crabs swarm in the ice. You choose the taste and wallet, the method of cooking and after 10 minutes you have a ready dish in front of you. Very tasty and reasonably priced! At night, return home by taxi or motorbike. Tuk-tuks work like taxis at night. We rode a motorbike, it was great, I liked it. Fast, not scary, even fun! 50-60 baht per person to the hotel, by taxi from 200 for everyone, if the company is large, it is better to take a taxi. I love the famous Tom Yum soup! I ate it every day, at every visit to the catering. The taste is different everywhere, the price also varies from 55 to 250 baht. Not everywhere I liked it, I have to choose. The most delicious was in Bangkok at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel and in a cafe near the Adriatic Palace Hotel. The latter cost 80 baht and was served in a huge bowl.
I brought home sets for making Tom Yum soup, I already cooked it once, however, no one except me ate it, it was too spicy. And I love!
12 days was categorically not enough, more than half could not be seen!
On the last day I went to Lukdot, bought a bag, wallets made of python and elephant skin, souvenirs. From trips to Kwai and the islands, she brought ointments and oils, fruit wine (very tasty from mangosteen), bought Thai cosmetics in Boots at the Central Festival. In the evening, I bought a fruit basket and pineapples with manga at the local market. As a result, the overweight of the suitcase is 10 kg. Fruit was carried in hand luggage, they let it pass quietly. I paid 5.200 baht for overweight at the Bangkok airport, and I had to change dollars at a very low rate. Keep in mind that an excess of more than 500 grams per person is paid 520 baht for each kilogram, neither persuasion nor scandals work on locals, you still have to pay or put it out of your suitcase.
Hand luggage is also weighed - 5kg limit.
There are long queues for registration, they move slowly, including because of the preponderance and scandals. We got seats in the second half of the plane, by the window, I was quite comfortable. They fed me twice, the food is tastier than from Moscow, I slept through almost the entire flight, even though we flew during the day, the daily lack of sleep affected. Almost all nights were walking or talking with friends over a glass of rum and cola, or early (at 4 am) departures for excursions. We flew to Moscow on a newer Boeing, clean and comfortable.
I am now forever a fan and lover of Thailand and Pattaya in particular!! !
