I found on a Bulgarian website that the hotel I booked on Booking requires a deposit from a credit card of 100 euros upon arrival. Is it possible to refuse it and what are the nuances?

Do they return this deposit without any problems, is it possible to give cash instead of a credit card, or is it better to cancel the reservation and take another hotel? I will be very grateful for the answer.
