The food is good, but the breakfasts are of the same type, the rooms are small if someone is traveling with children in one room . . a bit crowded. There are TVs, no hair dryers, so take your own. The soundproofing in the rooms is very poor, you can hear everything, we had a room with a sea view on the 1st floor and just opposite the transition, it caused problems. When ordering additional excursions, ask Svetlana for more information about what you want to see, she comes to the hotel... Monday and Wednesday only in the morning. Despite the pros and cons, I enjoyed my stay.

Clean, comfortable hotel, very good value for money. We got a spacious room overlooking the courtyard, but not the pool (there is a courtyard that can only be accessed from the rooms on the first floor), so it was quiet, a small balcony and a spacious bathroom. The air conditioner did not work, but it was not needed, because we practically only slept in the hotel, and the nights were very comfortable (as far as I understood, you need to take the superior room type for air conditioning). … More ▾ Clean, comfortable hotel, very good value for money. They cleaned the room every day, towels were also changed every day (even if you don’t throw them on the floor), linen once a week. The staff is friendly, at the reception is a very nice girl Oksana (Russian speaking). They fed well: breakfast was standard and easy to remember (cheese, three types of sausage, buns, jams, fried eggs, bacon, sausages, beans in tomato, boiled eggs, four types of breakfast cereals) for dinner, 4 types of salads, marinades, fresh vegetables were lettuce and tomatoes, two types of meat (pork, chicken, beef or their derivatives), two types of fish, many side dishes, fruit for dessert (apples, pears, plums, apricots, peaches, nectarines, melon or watermelons) and cakes. There was a lot of food and if something ran out they brought more. Drinks for dinner 2 euros 4 glasses (wine, beer, cola fanta, juices). The hotel is quiet and practically without its own territory, you will not get much entertainment there. The hotel is located very well, right next to the station (trains are quiet, they only run once every half an hour), the beach is right across the railway at the crossing, there is always a lot of space at the beginning of the old town, it’s nice to walk along the quiet streets in the evening. The beach is coarse sand, the sea is clean, but there is one feature - it’s deep right away and the waves hit hard, so you can’t really buy with little peanuts if they are afraid of the sea. It is very convenient to travel from Malgrat to Barcelona and Blanes (then you can take a bus to Lorret or Tossa), with one transfer to Girona. By the way, if you are going to Barcelona to ride bass tourists, then immediately buy a ticket for bass tourists + train at the station, it cost 21 euros - the same price is just bass tourists in Barcelona, i. e. the train ride is free (it was on our arrival) see the ads at the box office. We also often traveled to Blanes and therefore bought a ticket for 10 trips (Bono), it turned out to be half the price, so if you are going to travel often or take a lot of you, take Bono.

We were a little afraid that, judging by the reviews and information, there would be no air conditioning. But then we were told that the owner of the hotel had changed and apparently he introduced some kind of innovation. In short, there was air conditioning. Although in the beginning we didn’t really need it. The first week was cold. In the evenings, the wind blew from the sea, everyone wore sweatshirts. The sea is windy, the waves are cold and swimming. It's been hot all last week. For food - this is certainly not 5 stars in Turkey, but in principle it is normal. And they gave seafood and some typical Spanish dishes - paella there, for example. There is a wide variety of fruits - up to pineapples and cherries. Of alcoholic beverages, you can only drink beer - the rest is the same local swill as in Turkey - kakafka. The first week, the feeling was that they arrived at the nursing home - only the elderly. . then it began to seem that they had arrived at a pioneer camp - some teenage children were arriving. . . But it's not particularly stressful. The hotel has no animation, no entertainment - so the music is put on for an hour and a half - like a disco. To the location of all discos, hotels - 5 minutes walk. . . there is noise and din. And in our hotel at 12 everyone goes to bed. : -))) And who does not want to sleep goes to the disco. In principle, I was satisfied with the hotel, rest.

Hotel Sorra d'Or is really located next to the sea - literally a couple of minutes. A big plus for swimmers (like me) and non-lovers of long walks. Also near the railway station - another plus for those who like to ride and see.
The rooms are not very big, but every morning we were pleased with the sea view…
Information for those who like to eat: the food is good : ) even excellent! A variety of meat, fish and fruits, plus our favorite Olivier salad; ) And ice cream : ) There is also a restaurant and a cafe with a disco.
Pleased with the price / quality ratio. Only in my opinion, European youth left this hotel to the elderly - there were too many elderly foreigners there.
In the courtyard there is a swimming pool with a paddling pool, so it’s the best thing for families with children! Or for those who can't swim : )

We rested in this hotel in August 2007... I have long wanted to write a review, but there was no time. At one time, I was looking for some valuable information on the hotel on the Internet for a very long time and found little. The rooms are not very large, we, as Russians, generally got a small room, overlooking the courtyard (view of the pool), but with the largest terrace, on which you could dance if you wished. The main disadvantage is the lack of air conditioning, we were lucky that at the end of August 2007 it was not very hot, it was rainy for several days. But on the other hand, we live in Russia almost all without air conditioners, and when it's hot in summer, we don't see anything wrong with that. But again, I would like to have better conditions in the hotel : ) I was pleased with the staff - both the girl "at the counter" and the waitresses (one of them was very prudent and turned out to be Ukrainian : ) True, the cleaning lady did not change bed linen every day and made the bed. . . But we take it easy. (Towels were changed daily, we didn't leave tips ; )
The first day we were surprised by the smell of bleach, the tap water is more chlorinated than in Russia, and the water in the pool too. I liked the interior of the hotel, although there is no unity of style, but very, very nice, sincere and nice. The food is very good, quite varied, there were no problems with this... True, after a week of stay, breakfasts began to become boring - they are quite monotonous. (But as I understand it, this is in almost all hotels in Spain). The hotel has two large "dining rooms", in the sense of restaurant halls, there are rooms for relaxing and reading, there is a cafeteria (dances are held there in the evenings). Mostly foreigners live in the hotel, and the elderly, and it seemed to me that mostly Germans. The hotel certainly corresponds to the price-quality ratio, and we did not regret that we chose this hotel. Not a very expensive hotel, but very close to the sea. Although they chose it almost "at random", the travel agency could not really tell about it. I just had a fixed idea to find a hotel close to the sea, so that you don’t have to walk to the sea for 10-20 minutes, but a maximum of 5 minutes. And by the way, this hotel is almost the only large hotel in the old part of the city, so the beach is not as crowded as in the new part of Malgrad (it takes about 10 minutes to walk from the new part of Malgrad to the railway station).
So we chose this hotel for the price and on this basis. By the way, if you think what is the difference between Malgrad de Mar and Kalela and Santa Susanna, then I will say that - nothing. I was in all these towns, they are all the same type, tourist. We really liked Malgrad, a small, cute town with an old church and its own park with the remains of a fortress (located above the church). In the evenings, we walked around the town, there are sometimes concerts in the local park and all that. You can walk along the sea along the coast, there is a special road not far from the sea... By the way, the advantage of Malgrad is that it is not only close to Barcelona, but also close to Blanes, where there is a wonderful botanical garden (I recommend it! ). I also advise you to take a boat trip to Tossa de Mar. . . I didn't regret this boat trip for a second. . . Tossa is an old town with its fortress. . . It's just awesome, it's just a pity that it's far from Barcelona : )
In general, the hotel is not bad, no complaints, the rooms are not very large, there is no air conditioning. So decide for yourself whether to be or not to be; )
