Staying in Girona with my wife for the first time, I could not find the entrance to this great wall. Not that I ran and looked everywhere, but, let's say, passing by, there were no rises. The 2nd time, I acted more carefully and immediately found the first climb right next to the central square.

The wall is striking in size and condition. Watching how the former multi-storey new buildings begin to decrepit right before our eyes, the wall erected at the beginning of our era without a level and a concrete mixer is simply amazing. Of course, the skillful Spanish hand of the restorer also applied here, but, most importantly, there was something to restore.

A walk along the wall invites reflection, bright thoughts and recreational activities to lift the mood. The whole city is visible, including the nearby green mountain ranges. It is impossible to get the full impression of Girona without climbing the wall.

If you do not give in to mortal laziness, then you can climb the observation towers located along the way and reach the last descent, which will lead to the cathedral. I recommend that those who are especially interested go to the Museum of History, which is located at the foot of the cathedral. When descending from the big stairs - on the left.

And we breathed fresh air, enjoyed a walk and along the way played role-playing games with my daughter, for which I have an expert.

Girona impresses with the fact that being a popular tourist site, it is not oversaturated with tourists. This is the second time we are witnessing a calm course of events and the absence of tourist excitement. Therefore, exploring Girona is easy and not forced!

Fresco - buffet

Having dined with the usual McDonalds for traveling around Europe back in Lloret, I wanted to find something more edible and appetizing for dinner. I just can't agree with the Europeans in terms of their lunch routine.

After all, their lunch is considered, as it were, between times, but for dinner it is customary to eat off for the whole day. Therefore, the usual "menu of the day" will no longer be found, and in some cafes the usual dinner set in the evening will cost more.

So here. What you would have been offered for 9.95/4.95 during the day, in the evening it was already going for 11.95/6.95. It cost 30 euros for our team, but at least we ate what we wanted. And my daughter didn't go hungry.

Last time, when I went to some cafe with my wife, we paid 15 euros for a terrible pizza and a small vegetable salad, so we didn’t stop running here, but settled at the buffet.

Cafe FresCo has many counterparts throughout Spain and is already familiar to us from Barcelona, where there are many more people.

Daughter always liked buffets and, if not for her parents, then in her plate one could find all the sweets presented at the table.

This time, under our supervision, she made herself a Kate Moss dinner, Korean carrots, sunflower seeds, unpeeled peanuts and a slice of watermelon. Straight raw foodist in the third generation : )

Museum of Cinematography

I'll start with the subtext. Having visited Girona in early June, we joined the sect of visitors to Girona museums. When you approach the first projectile - any museum, and having paid its cost, you will receive a brochure with information about all state museums and a 50% discount on admission to all others, valid for 6 months. There are 5 museums in total. Well, plus a few private properties in the spirit of the Arab baths and exhibition halls.

Since this time we were with my daughter, we needed something interesting and exciting. We chose the Museum of Cinematography. Entrance is 5 euros, at a discount of 2.50, and for children under 16 there is a green corridor. An audio guide is also available for 2 euros.

The museum begins with a hall with a film, which tells about the search and undertakings of future directors.

In ancient times, filmmakers walked in the same bundle with magicians and charlatans. You just wonder how before, with the help of static pictures and lighting, as well as the skill of the author of the voice acting, people were transferred in space and time, captivating the plot of the story.

The museum really promotes children's fascination. Here everything is spinning, spinning and transforming. Starting with the shadow theater and ending with the first heroes of Walt Disney. My daughter was delighted from the very beginning. We just couldn't get her out of the shadow theater where you can put on your own show. In addition to us, there was another family in the museum, so the expats had enough space for everyone.

The museum is not big, but managed to accommodate on 3 floors. So you will first take the elevator to the 3rd floor and will descend back to the 1st as you go.

Do not miss the hall on the 1st floor located in the area of the toilet rooms.

There will be a large screen showing the technique of street tetras of the past centuries, as well as a small art gallery.

Spend an hour at this wonderful museum and your mood will noticeably rise to the "excellent" mark.

Girona - Spanish Gate

It so happened that all our past, and, I think, future planes land at the Girona airport. Low-cost airlines Wizz Air and Ryan Air prefer it to their adult brother El Prat. Excellent communication with the city, Barcelona and the entire coast contributes to the mass of possible options for visiting this part of Spain.

So it is this time. Arriving here late in the evening and going to Lloret, our good friend a little later helped us move from Spain to France itself. But a little about the city.

Every hour from 5 to 24 a comfortable bus delivers passengers from the airport to the city and back for 2.60. The journey takes 15-20 minutes.

But if the departure is earlier than 6 am, then you will have to spend the night in hotels located even closer to the airport, and there are several of them.

The city itself deserves attention and everyone is obliged to spend the night here at least a night. The city is beautiful, rich and every pebble of its paving stones is saturated with history. Its narrow streets, the chic Cathedral and the mass of museums for every taste will not let either adults or children get bored.

Having visited almost all tourist sites, we enjoyed walking along its magical streets. And several bridges thrown across the river will give you gorgeous pictures, especially in the rays of the setting sun.

When choosing a hotel, I was guided by 2 principles. Loyalty to children and proximity to the bus station. Morning rise at 4.30 was met without initiative by my female team. But, as skilled travelers, we were able to pull ourselves together and drag our kilograms and bags with dowry over the given 400 meters.

The city was unreal in the yellow illumination of street lamps and not warm in the morning.

Together with us, on boarding the bus, the flight attendants also showed up, who, together with us, will fly to French soil. Marked on the list as a pioneer leader, they, along with their eternal companions on wheels, were placed on the bus. We were calm, according to the test poll of this very leader, none of the heavenly swallows overslept. The flight will take place!
