The observation deck is located on a rock, southwest of Gord. From here you can enjoy beautiful views of the mountain range, Gordes Castle, after which the city was named, as well as partially view the fortress wall and Saint-Firmin church from the site.

Very colorful town

A place worth visiting! Were last year in May in Provence, we decided to call in the "outback" - in Gordes. A very colorful town, not yet visited by tourists. It was described by Emile Zola in his novel, the film "A Good Year" (2006) was filmed here...But it is microscopic, you can walk around for an hour. But there is where to stay - the stunning hotel La Bastide de Gordes 5 *. This is a unique place!! ! Recommend!! !→

City view lovers

At the entrance to Gordes, do not miss the intersection of Route de Cavaillon and Chemin de Gaumaud, this is where the observation deck with classic views of the city is located. Moreover, having parked and getting out of the car, you will need to go down a little along the path trodden by numerous tourists. By the way, Gordes is included in the list of "The most beautiful villages in France. " To obtain such a status, it is not enough to pay annual membership fees (2 euros per resident). It is necessary that the population does not exceed 2000 people, and also that the village has at least two buildings classified as historical monuments.→
