Academy Bridge

Ponte dell'Accademia
Italy, Venice
The Accademia Bridge is the southernmost of Venice's bridges across the Grand Canal. It connects the art Accademia Gallery to the San Marco area. Initially, the bridge was built in 1854 in the form of a steel structure, but due to inconsistency with the historical appearance of the city, it was converted into a wooden one in 1934. In 1985, due to wear and tear, the bridge was again replaced with a new one, but its appearance and original wooden structure were preserved.

This bridge is one of four bridges across the Grand Canal. The bridge is wooden and leads across the Grand Canal from the center of Venice to the Dorsoduro area. From here you have a magnificent view of the canal and Santa Maria della Salute. This is probably the most photogenic bridge in Venice. Do not deny yourself the pleasure of taking pictures, especially since there are so many sights around - the church of Santa Maria della Carite, which houses the Accademia Gallery, the Cavalli Franchetti Palace, the Cantarini dal Zaffo Palace and many others .
