Burano is the island quarter of Venice, known as a place for the production of lace since the 16th century. Like Island of Murano, until 1923 it was considered a separate city from Venice. Burano attracts tourists with colorful houses, unusual architecture and lace shops.

Buranovsky lace
This is a bright, colorful parrot island. It is known not only for the famous lace products, Bussola cookies, but also for the colorful houses that the fishermen's wives once painted so that tired husbands, returning from the catch, would not confuse their house with someone else's. A wonderful mood is guaranteed for everyone. But keep in mind that everything related to lace is a trap for tourists, in the sense that these products are highly overpriced and the calculation is simply that people want to take away a memorable souvenir from the famous island : ).→

The island as a universal mood lifter :)
Island of colored houses. By the way, those residents whose houses overlook the main streets, the city hall obliges to renew the paint on the facades of houses every six months (otherwise a fine is due). As for color, homeowners are not free to choose: if a citizen wants to paint his house, he sends a request to the authorities, who give a list of colors allowed for this building. This is an island in which, as if the whole of Venice is turned inside out, exposing its soul and its daily life. Color madness.→
