blue stone

Blue-stone, Blue Rock
russia, Pereslavl-Zalessky
The blue stone is a huge ritual stone, from the times of pagan Russia, located on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyevo. It got its name because of the peculiarity of its surface to change color after rain from gray to blue. The weight of the stone is approximately 12 tons. According to legend, the Blue Stone could cure all sorts of ailments, and women from infertility. Now the boulder goes underground, its height reaches less than one meter.

A common thing for such "unusual" places - the information about the stone is varied and blurry. Either the former pagan temple, or the haven of the devil, but still people come to the stone, believing that the stone will fulfill their desires, sit thoughtfully on it and leave offerings in the form of coins. In appearance, the stone, indeed, is not very characteristic of a dark bluish-gray color, possibly hematite. It protrudes 30 centimeters above the ground, but they say it is much larger, it just gradually sinks into the soil.
