The Nicholas Monastery was founded as a Basilian monastery in 1718 in the neighboring village of Kalinovka, in 1748 it was transferred to Shargorod. After joining the region to the Russian Empire, the monastery in 1795-1799. was the residence of the head of the newly established Orthodox Bratslav diocese. From 1937 to 1986 the monastery was closed. On June 26, 1992, the monastery was consecrated as a male monastery. The monastery complex, surrounded by defensive walls, includes the majestic Nicholas Cathedral, the gate building with a three-tiered bell tower of the middle of the 19th century, the fraternal building with St. Michael's Church, the church of St. Archangel Michael and other Incorporeal Heavenly Forces, rebuilt from the refectory in 1874, corner tower. Among the shrines of the monastery is a copy of the Pochaev Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos. A bell-ringing school was opened at the monastery. Opposite the monastery is the
St. Florian's Church.
