we personally gave a tip at check-in after we had already chosen a room from the three offered, and we gave it not at the reception, but to the boy who showed the numbers and dragged the suitcase. Only 5 bucks! And they tried to leave a tip in the room itself for the staff who cleaned the room, 1-2 bucks or 3-5 lire - as a result, it was always well cleaned, clean linen and towels. Maybe this is included, but we were so calmer, since I personally am very picky about cleanliness.
