Hello dear travel lovers!

The summer beach season is slowly creeping up and I decided that it is necessary to share my experience with those who want to relax on the Crimean shores, and in particular, on the western coast of Crimea - in Evpatoria.

My husband and I rested in this glorious city in September 2012.

We traveled via Moscow by plane. I advise non-Muscovites to make a bigger gap between planes, for some reason lately they don’t allow landing for 1-2 hours, they almost missed the next plane (we had a gap between flights of 2.5 hours. We ran around the airport, warmed up))) on arrival they had fun at the Simferopol airport. It is written: “Do not throw paper into the toilet”, but there are no toilet bowls, a hole in the floor. Hello sovdep)))

From Simferopol you can economically get to Evpatoria. On the 115 bus, get to the railway station for 2.75 gr. , And then by minibus to Evpatoria for 22 gr. on a brother. Drive about 1.5 hours. By the way, the hryvnia is about 4 times more expensive than the ruble, so it’s quite easy to navigate the prices, multiply by 4, and that’s all.

A cafe adjoins the bus station in Evpatoria. After flights, buses and hot weather, we drank a cold draft beer with samsa or cheburek (not bad, by the way). Great! Rest has begun. There is also a Soyuzpechat kiosk, where I recommend buying a map of Evpatoria for 8 or 12 gr. (for 12 - beautiful tourist) - life will be greatly simplified, because. Yevpatoria is quite an extended city.

What can be said about the city as a whole? A nice, cozy town with an ancient and interesting history, a cheerful embankment, a theater, wide sandy beaches, good people and an almost steppe climate.

If we dwell on the climate, we can say that, following the results of two years of rest on the western coast of Crimea (Saki, Evpatoria), I concluded: the beach season ends there in August. Someone may now disagree with me and will argue and say: we swam in October, etc. , but now I know: you can get a tan in September on the western coast of Crimea, but you can’t swim. Water both September was 18-20 degrees (this is not the South Coast). Of course, you can take a dip, but if you are not a walrus, you will not relax much.

In general, in September the weather is good, there is no rain, the sun is warm during the day, but the winds are cold. All the time I want to put on a blouse or a windbreaker, especially in the evenings. Jeans, a windbreaker and closed shoes are a necessary attribute for a comfortable walk in the evening.

I have already said about the city, I will dwell on excursions and places to visit separately.

Hotels, boarding houses, sanatoriums

Of course, there are a great many of them in Evpatoria. It took quite a long time to choose where to stay, because I wanted to combine a comfortable stay with mud therapy. As a result, we stopped at the boarding house "Planet".

But we spent the first and last night in the mini-boarding house "Absolut" (it's more like a hotel, and not so "mini"), because. there were no places on the planet. Absolut is located at: st. Volodya Dubinin, 19/22. Tel: (06569.3-04-69 about 10 minutes walk from Theater Square, 15 minutes from the city beach, good location. An overnight stay there cost 250 rubles. (in honor of the end of the season and the absence of guests, they gave us a discount, so the room cost 300). For a short stay at the hotel, everything is there: shower, air conditioning, refrigerator, TV, Wi-Fi in every room, they give a kettle, for 70 gr. provide a simple but adequate breakfast. For 550 gr. two will be fed three times a day. The rooms, of course, are old, maybe the locker door hangs on one hinge, the toilet bowl is not very well flushed, not very clean, but for 250 rubles. sleep well. But very friendly hosts-administrators, they will tell you everything.

From the second day we moved to the boarding house "Planeta" (Kositsky St. , 29/73, tel (06569.2-80-70.2-83-84.6-03-20). He attracted me, first of all, by the opportunity to provide a more or less decent level of service (close to international standards), a swimming pool and a beautiful territory. The cost of the boarding house is not cheap - 4400 rubles. for a double room per day. But everything was included there: food and accommodation and treatment, they didn’t pay extra for anything (only for medicinal additives in baths)

I tried to find reviews about this boarding house before the trip and there were surprisingly few of them. Then I understood why. The boarding house is departmental. It is from the Russian Space Plant. Khrunichev. Basically, there are people from the plant - they give vouchers to employees for free, but they sell places and freely. We ordered online (through the official website).

Meals 3 times a day, ordered. Those. Today you decide what you will eat every other day. Everything is cooked with high quality and tasty, the menu indicates the number of calories. Good selection of meat dishes. Vegetables are served as a set. You need to choose two dishes for each meal. Everyone is eating. They also give delicious kefir. For 12 days, the food did not have time to get bored. The quality is not canteen, higher level. And it's all nicely done too. Dispersed by waitresses. If you go on an excursion, you must warn in advance - they give a dry ration. If you just don’t have time to return for dinner, they will bring food to your room. Everything is civil.

Procedures.

Although the Planet is a boarding house, a full range of sanatorium treatment is provided. There are highly qualified specialists of all profiles (both doctors and nurses - to them in general, special thanks to them, they are really excellent specialists). There is even a dentist. By the way, they are very commendable. My husband cured caries there, much cheaper than ours. While everything is fine with the tooth. All procedures are prescribed as expected, there is no need to additionally “bash”. All procedures are prescribed in the first half of the day, everything is chosen rationally so that there is no extra running around. Nothing to complain about. In the bathroom, they will give you a clean towel and pour some tea. Nicely! The main thing is not to be late, otherwise they will get angry. Who will go with the kids, I can say that there will be no problems, everything is comfortable.

Those who go for mud should take into account that the mud is not currently scooped up from Lake Moinaki (it has already been completely “scooped out”), the mud is delivered from Saki, so you don’t get any brine baths or take out mud there, just like in any other place in Evpatoria, get it, but mud applications, tampons, electro-mud, are prescribed to everyone according to their indications. In short, small portions, please, but they cannot provide a mud bath. With brine, the same thing - all kinds of irrigation, but no bath. Maybe it's not worse. There are different opinions on this subject. Saki mud is so active that few people see it in whole baths.

Own, very, very clean. There are wooden awnings and free sunbeds. Plastic sun loungers for a fee, I don’t remember how much, we somehow managed without them. Perfectly clean toilet, I didn’t even know that bio-toilets could be like that. There are lifeguards, a first-aid post, equipment rental. Faucets with water. Cafes nearby. The bus schedule is as follows: To the beach 9.00, 9.30, 10.00, 10.30, 14.30, 15.00, 15.30 From the beach 11.30, 12.00, 12.30, 13.00, 16.30, 17.00, 17.30. Normally fits into the schedule of the day, adjusted to nutrition and procedures.

Rooms and cleaning

For a solid four. Everything seems to be not new, but not worn out, decent, clean and tidy.

The people are friendly, the staff is well trained. There are very few year-round boarding houses in Evpatoria, and Planet is just like that, so they don’t take anyone there, people hold on to work. The city is a resort, basically the work of all is seasonal. The locals said that in winter the city dies out after 9 pm, so judge for yourself how they should relate to permanent and well-paid work. When we had some personal issues, all problems were resolved, we were not offended. Thank them for this!

Well, that's it, everything about the boarding house, if you have any questions, write, I will definitely answer.

Now about what to do in your free time. The boarding house is located in such a place that there are only boarding houses and sanatoriums nearby, one cafe nearby. All entertainment in Evpatoria in the old part of the city.

Why is Evpatoria beautiful? The fact that you can see the ancient history right here, almost without leaving the beach.

The most famous route is Little Jerusalem. In Evpatoria, temples of all religions are concentrated in a small area. There is a completely extraordinary architecture of the Juma-Jami mosque (there is not a single symmetrical element in it. Take a closer look - everything is asymmetrical, but at the same time, completely harmonious), there is a synagogue, those dervishes (a Muslim monastery), the most interesting Karaite kenas (the Karaites are an ancient Turkic people who played a certain role in the history of our last royal dynasty. Today there are very few Karaims in the world - about 2 thousand and the main stronghold is Evpatoria. In kenasah there is a very beautiful courtyard), there is a Greek Orthodox church of St. Elijah (beautiful is also very inside) , there is an Armenian church and, of course, the Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Unfortunately, it was under restoration last year, and we were not able to appreciate the beauty of the cathedral from the inside, but perhaps now it has shone in all its beauty.

I strongly advise you to drive around Evpatoria with a tour, which for a small fee-60 gr. held on Tuesdays from the boarding house. A wonderful guide, Vladimir Sergeevich, tells about the history of Evpatoria, about the military exploits of the inhabitants. Vladimir Sergeevich, as I understand it, used to run the local history museum. A man with amazing knowledge and love for his native city, an excellent speaker. Go with him - you won't regret it!

There is a good museum Odun-bazaar kapusy - a museum of the fortress gates. In this museum, located in the restored fortress gates of the 15th century, there is a unique model 5 * 9 meters in size of the medieval city of Kezlev (the medieval name of Evpatoria). There, each house is in its place, as it was. There are other exhibits as well. The tour is not long, but the Tatar guide also tells very well. Also in these gates there is a wonderful coffee shop with a colorful oriental interior, Tatar coffee, fragrant teas, quiet music, hookah and oriental sweets. In such places, the sense of time is lost. Prices: a cup of coffee 25-30 gr. , 25 a teapot, sweets from 6 to 15 gr.

By the way, you should definitely eat their national dishes at the Karaites (the entrance is next to the entrance to the kenasas). Everything is very tasty, but chebureks are especially praised. We, unfortunately, did not have time to try them, because. they came late (they are only cooked until 7 pm), but the cafe itself is open until 10. You can bring your own alcoholic drinks, because. they don’t have anything stronger than beer, but it doesn’t work very well with such delicious food. Dinner (soup, 2 hot, appetizers) cost 150 gr.

Near the fortress gates there is a cool entertainment for lovers of "hand-made". There is a brutal potter and for 50 gr. conducts MK in his craft. Under his strict guidance, beautiful vessels and vases are obtained, which can be picked up a day after drying. For another 20 gr. they will be fired in a furnace and it will be possible to pour water into them. Potter-brutal man Jan. Photos with him turned out like from the movie "Ghost". Here is my girlfriend having fun. …………. The entertainment is cool. Making a thing with your own hands is somehow so real, there are so few master craftsmen left now, everything is so stamped. The more valuable things are made individually. Such a glechik (jug) is now in my kitchen))

There is also a museum of local lore, with many archaeological finds and a theater - the decoration of the city. I really wanted to go, but somehow did not grow together.

There is also a literary cafe, where on Fri. , Sat. and Sun. Live music and piano playing from 17:00 to 20:00.

Opposite the theater building (across the square) in the lane. Akhmatova d. 30 there is a House of Wine - a tasting room with a small museum and a shop with a large selection of Crimean wine from almost all factories. Tue, Thu and Sat. Samille arrives and conducts a tasting tour. It lasts 1.5 hours, costs 50 gr. wines of 7 Crimean factories are tasted. You can just buy different varieties of wine/cognac on tap and taste it yourself (there are tables for this and quite a nice entourage).

There is a jazz cafe on Demysheva.

And there is another wonderful place - the dolphinarium. It is located in a beautiful new building at the end of the new embankment: Kievskaya st. , 19/20, tel. 099-02-44-301. If you have forgotten what children's delight is, you have forgotten how to laugh carelessly, clap your hands and enjoy life, you are there, you will experience real delight and carefree happiness. It costs like 100 gr. , if memory serves. The duration of the performance is 1 hour.

What she knew about Evpatoria seemed to be told. The main fun is on the new embankment - emb. Gorky (from the theater square go down to the sea and to the right a few blocks). Street musicians, cafes, all kinds of trade, carousels, rides (closer to the park). I advise you to eat on the new embankment in the cafe "at Volodya", which is near the pier. It looks like an eatery, because plastic tables and chairs, but it is on the 1st floor. On the second, it is much prettier and sooo tasty and not very expensive. For a magnificent dinner of delicious shurpa, 300 gr. barbecue, plates of marinated and baked vegetables, bottles of Inkerman wine paid 270 gr. We had a wonderful dinner there twice: to the music, admiring the Evpatoria bay, the pier with lights.

The old embankment (V. Tereshkova) used to be very cool too, now it is under restoration. The view is spoiled by a scary wooden fence and there is still almost no one hanging out there, only a few artists, so behind the portrait, go there.

What can be said here? In Crimea, they are for every taste and color: even in palaces, even in mountains, even in caves, even in monasteries. The only thing that limits vacationers living in sanatoriums and boarding houses is that half a day from Monday to Friday is occupied with procedures. If it’s a pity to miss, then only Sundays remain free. In addition, Evpatoria is the westernmost city of Crimea and it takes about 3 hours to get to the South Coast (southern coast), where most of the sights are located. Somewhat tiring, although of course the beauties that Crimea has to offer are worth it.

We only went out twice. Because I’m far from the first time in Crimea, I’ve been to many places, I wanted something “such” and we decided to go to Cape Fiolent and visit St. George’s Balaklava Monastery and Balaklava itself. You can describe the beauty of Cape Fiolent and the feeling of grace that visits you in the monastery for a very long time, but I will simply say this: you must visit it. This is the place where God is very close. Such a feeling happens when you are on an island in the ocean - you feel like a grain of sand in the universe. Standing on the edge of the cliff of Cape Fiolent and seeing all the power and beauty of the deep sea under your feet, you understand how fleeting our existence is and how empty our worldly fuss is.

We got there on our own. The path, of course, is not close, but it's worth it. First, from the bus station of Yevpatoriya (take a taxi to it. In Yevpatoriya, a taxi costs 13-20 gr. very cheaply) to Severnaya station (by bus at 6.40, so that you have more time to walk. Morning flights to Severnaya note: 06.02, 06.40, 09.02, 10.15) on the way for about 2 hours, then by boat to the center of Sevastopol. There is a bus stop right next to the waterfront. There are a lot of minibuses, we went like on the 9th to the stop "5th kilometer" There is a transfer to the minibus number 3 to Fiolent. Minibuses run frequently, so it turned out not very long and inexpensive 49 gr. per person in each direction.

When we arrived at the monastery, the liturgy was already ending, but we listened to the sermon, venerated the relics (there are many particles, there are even apostolic ones, although they are rarely found anywhere) - it was lucky to touch such a shrine, toured the monastery. My husband asked for blessings for photography from the rector Father Savvaty, so he learned that we had come so far away - we were from Syktyvkar - he was very friendly, told about the monastery and even blessed us to dine in the monastery refectory. This is such an unexpected gift to us. There is a holy spring in the monastery.

After staying in the monastery, we went down the famous St. George Stairs to Jasper Beach. It was not easy to overcome 857 steps even down - at the end the legs were trembling. I am surprised how the locals go to the beach twice a day, with children and the elderly, and with all the belongings, food, tents, because. everything is expensive on the beach, trained guys. Everywhere it is written that the stairs are in good condition, but this is not at all the case - in many places the steps are dilapidated, there are no handrails, you have to go very carefully. Locals say that every year those who want to “cut off” are removed from the rocks by the Ministry of Emergency Situations))) But for the sake of truth, it must be said that there are benches along the way and thanks to the trees you walk almost all the time in the shade. While descending, the views shook the imagination all the time and I wanted to take endless pictures. The beach itself is not very large, and merchants break prices for 30 gr. for a sunbed and even just for a falling shadow 20 gr. I was shocked, apparently in Ukraine they are allowed to buy the national treasure into property. Some kind of nonsense: for the fact that I will lie on my towel in the shade of their tent (not under an awning! ), I have to pay 20 gr. ))))

But the surrounding beauty, the crystal clear sea overshadowed this clutter. Having swum and sunbathed, we sailed on a boat (20gr. ) Directly from the beach to Balaklava, along the way, too, a bastard from the beauties (sail about 40 min. ). Time passed like a tour. A boat runs from the beach to Balaklava every two hours. So you don't have to climb all the way up. Although I really wanted to check myself, but my husband agreed to go down only on the condition that we would not climb back))))

There is also something to see in Balaklava. There is a submarine museum, but on Friday evening it was no longer open, so we just walked along the beautiful embankment and had a wonderful dinner at the Fisherman's Hut with freshly caught fish accompanied by good Crimean wine (about 200 gr. ). Sitting in a restaurant (cafe), which is right on stilts above the water, it was so pleasant to feed the birds and fish with a bun and meet the sunset. The day went well!

By taxi for 80 gr. we reached Sevastopol and there, in the usual way, to Severnaya and Yevpatoriya. Just in case, the telephone number of the Northern bus station dispatcher, if you need to clarify flights: 0652545676 (or 80 at the end)

We planned the second excursion for the last day of our stay. I wanted to put such a bold exclamation point in the program of our stay in Evpatoria. And it turned out in fact a fat blot. My husband is in Crimea for the first time and I really wanted to show him the best places in the South Coast - Yalta, Ai-Petri, Foros. (I was on Ai-Petri in 2011, I still remember with such joy). I really wanted to show him this beauty, too. in the past in 2011 went with a friend.

We bought the official tour at the boarding house. The aunt who sold us the tour is standing in front of the dining room. I will tell you in detail about how we tried to get on the tour.

Thanks to that person - and this was done, as I understand it, with the money of one person, a philanthropist from Russia, who restored all this so that our historical memory would not be erased, would not disappear.

It was on such a sad and solemn note that we ended our vacation. Not quite as planned, but such a fate is visible.

What else can be added? Crimea is very different: bright and affectionate, heroic and solemn, cheerful and romantic. Everyone will find in it what they want. I like it, I hope you will like it too. It's good to be at home.

If you have any questions, ask, I will be happy to answer O_Kuhar@mail. ru"
