I really need information about the resort from those in the know
Good afternoon everyone!
There was a burning desire to get on skis and do it without fail in the Carpathians, in Bukovel.
We are planning a trip from mid-December 2010 to the end of December (maybe we will capture the New Year).
I'm very interested in the following information:
1. What is the weather like in Bukovel in December, are there enough sunny days to sunbathe?
2. Please recommend a ski school, since we do not ski :(, but I would very much like to.
3. Do I need to bring equipment with me and what kind, or can I rent it on the spot? And how much it might cost.
4. well, maybe you will advise something useful.
Thanks in advance to everyone who will respond.

In Bukovel, there may still be no snow in December, like last year, for example. But no one knows what will happen this year. You can rent everything right there, and there are enough instructors, all from one Bukovel school. I don’t know anything about sunbathing, I have never heard of anyone sunbathing there.

1. In the middle of December, there is usually no snow - they turn on the guns. On artificial snow - like a rubber young lady - you yourself understand, for an amateur. )))
2. Masters - full. Ask right there.
3. I have been riding for 5 years and decided that I would do it. So I got skis and boots. You can also rent a set on site. In Mykulychyn and Tatariv it costs from 60 UAH, in Bukovel it is more expensive. I think 100 UAH. invest per day (if you don’t mind the money).
4. Where will you live? Have you seen the prices in Bukovel? Start from 200 UAH. for a person. I advise Mykulychyn - from 50 UAH. for a person. Lots of useful info on go2karpaty.info.

In December, no one can guarantee snow. If it’s frosty, they’ll throw snow. For beginners, it doesn’t matter what kind of snow to learn on. The 7th track for dummies will definitely work in December. learn. Go to www.bukovel.com/
to the forum - heroes, traces, rental, schools - instructors. There are reviews and contacts of good instructors. You will also find all the information you need there. There are no problems with rental in Bukovel. morning promotion, or buy promotional passes in advance. Information on promotions on the same site. In my opinion, now you can buy at a discount of either 20% or 30%. Take ski passes for times, not days. Sunbathe in Bukovel usually spring. Learn to ride, come in February and March. The best skiing.

Thank you so much for the information! We will decide on housing.
And yet about the sun.
We are just from Murmansk, the sun is a very important element of relaxation for us.
Is the weather in December in the Carpathians cloudy and slushy all the time? Or are there options and with what frequency? At least how to dress, at what temperature limit and air humidity?
And then it seems to us, the inhabitants of the far north, that everywhere it is under -20 and darkness is all around :)

If you order in the heavenly office, you will have sunshine. Go to the same Bukovel website in the photo gallery. There are archives for all years. See what the weather was like in December. , you will not care what the weather is. We ride in severe frost, and in the heat of +18, and in a snowstorm, and under wet snow. And always with the same pleasure. The main thing is the presence of snow and the right equipment. Before the trip, look at the website on webcams and the weather forecast, and you will know how to dress.

Have you tried going to sea? Kidding ;-)
The sun comes and even very often)))
аватар zheka1979
By the way, Mikho Saakashvili advertises his resort very much - there you can swim in the sea and ride in the mountains)))

We have a foreign passport covered, we are military, otherwise the sea and ..., and so we have to embody old unfulfilled dreams within the CIS :)
Thank you all very much!!!

So you don’t need a passport to Crimea either))) Especially to Sevastopol))) There you will feel no worse than Moscow for another 25 years (at least))))
In general, have a good rest ;-)

We decided we had to go! And the weather is nonsense - you'll never guess :)

How about in Crimea in December?
After all, vacation is on schedule, there is no choice :)))
Only ski resorts remain, and we choose from them. And we have never been in the Carpathians - exotic. We will look at pasties and khachapuri in Murmansk;)

By the way, I didn’t find adequate hotels in Bukovel in many respects. A sore point with food. This year, as in the previous one, we will look in the vicinity.

Dear LILIANA_ODESSA, if you find something interesting, let us know :)
Thank you!

What interests you in a hotel? That is, the main thing, t.s.?
аватар sashaK
In principle, comfort (clean room, clean bed, hot shower) and respectful attitude of the staff. Food is not a problem if there are shops and cafes nearby :) If we are talking about a ski hotel, then probably the proximity of the ski lifts (to be honest, we have no experience in this type of recreation, we don’t know how to choose them). I would also like to see a “promenadnaya” nearby, where to take a walk in the evening, entertainment (not bars and discos, something for the soul - cinema, for example), sights where to spend time when the weather is not good - we can’t just sit and watch TV staring in order to spend time usefully :) Usually we are determined by reviews and by a set of the above criteria, the price, of course, also matters :)

Unfortunately, there is no cinema in the Carpathians yet - the only place for recreation is a bowling alley, a kolyba, a cafe/restaurant and a spa/sauna. For prices, you can look at the Bukovel website (bukovel.com).
I would say that the issue of price is decisive. Since you eat from afar, then, of course, it will be more convenient for you to live right near the ski lifts, although it will be 15-20 times more expensive than living 15-20 km from the village.
Personally, I travel by car (from Kyiv - only 630 km) and live in Mykulychyn (20 km from Bukovel). It costs a week of rest (travel, meals, skiing - 12-15 descents a day) about 2200 UAH. ($280) per person. A similar pleasure with living on the mountain starts from 5.0-6.0 thousand UAH. ($630-760) per person.
In a word, the choice is yours.

Bukovel will definitely suit you. There are no cinemas there, but there is somewhere to take a walk. There is a skating rink, there is a ski school, a spa center, restaurants. You can just ride the lifts without skis and sit in a cafe at the top. The magic of the Carpathians. More expensive "Patkovsky" - there 3 meals a day are included and closer to the center of the resort. SKY HOTEL is more for inveterate skiers (it is allowed to grumble around the hotel in ski boots :), at a price like Patkovsky, a little cheaper, but only breakfast .I personally like Villa Buko, it's even more expensive, but the rooms are super. Choose as it were from what, only advice - to a hotel with the name "Bukovel" - I wouldn't risk it - we were eventually settled outside the resort.

You can organize your vacation in a different way. Last year we lived in the "Lavender Country Club" in Tatariv (8 km from Bukovel along the highway) The service at the hotel is much better than in Bukovel: the price already includes a sauna, a swimming pool, a gym, a cinema (small), a children's playroom. There is a territory near the river (in Bukovel it is usually not there - there are crowds of vacationers around) You can get to Bukovel in 15 minutes and walk there at least the whole day, but if there is no weather, you can stay at the hotel - go sauna, gym, etc.
аватар zheka1979
There is an alternative proposal - a hotel in Mykulychyn "At the Carpathian Guru". About 20 km from Bukovel, the cost of rest (without travel) with equipment rental will be about 1800 UAH. ($230).

What a great forum you have!
Got a lot of information! Thank you.
On search engines, they fished out crumbs of information about Bukovel, and then they filled up in 3 days :)
We will be determined. It's probably best to book in advance.
