February in Andorra
My wife and I were vacationing in Andorra in February 2007. We lived in the Encamp Hotel, 3 *. I liked the hotel, corresponds to three stars. Clean, friendly staff, delicious food (breakfast and dinner buffet). Of the minuses, one can note an unimportant view from the windows and a somewhat monotonous breakfast menu. That's all. There is a bus stop next to the hotel, which is very convenient for skiers. The free "train" runs every 15 minutes and the buses run quite on time. A 10-minute walk is a sports complex where you can swim in the pool, warm up on the simulators, etc. The cost is 7 euros per day (for a week 21 euros).
In the town itself the weather was warm 0-8 degrees. There is no snow at all. You can climb the mountains by funicular, where a "train" brings you in 5-10 minutes, or take a bus to Soldeu or El Tarter (20 minutes) or to other ski places. There was enough snow in the mountains (for us), although not all pistes were open.
Sometimes snow "cannons" worked. A brief photo report of the trip can be found at http://www. toppartner. en/
