In March 2014, we decided to return to Dubai again to rest. A year earlier, we rested at the Sun and Sens hotel (Dubai) and were very pleased with the rest. Since the trip was not planned in advance and organized spontaneously, the choice of hotels was not great. Of the proposed options, we chose the Versales hotel, as it suited us in terms of location. The hotel is within a 10-minute walk from the Union and Al Rigga metro stations, which was very important for us. After reading all the reviews in advance, we realized that there were very few positive reviews, but we decided that each person has his own needs and perhaps everything is not so bad. Arriving in Dubai, we were brought to the hotel, where, having approached the administrator, we were told that it was necessary to wait for check-in until 14.00 (our arrival time was 11.00), however, the administrator said that if we wanted, we could pay 40 dollars and we will be settled, which we refused. A hotel employee approached us and very kindly offered to go to the sofas standing in the hotel lobby and wait there, while he offered us a choice of coffee (expresso or cappuccino). We asked to bring two cups of coffee, being sure that this was a standard hospitality procedure, however, after the coffee was drunk, we were offered to pay for it in the amount of 40 AED for two cups (about 400 rubles). We paid, what can you do, but the sediment remained, since they didn’t say a word to us that coffee was not free. We were settled on the 7th floor in room No. 708. Upon entering the room, it immediately caught my eye that there were water stains in the corner on the ceiling and the table was in some spots. We are not proud people, so we did not pay attention to it. There is no appearance of the hotel, as the facade is being renovated. During the week of our stay, we never saw any renovations being carried out. Having climbed to the roof of the hotel, where the pool is located, we were informed that the pool was not working. We had only breakfast, basically every morning the same thing. Fried eggs, olives, sausages, beans in tomato, sliced u200bu200b(tomatoes, cucumbers), sometimes potatoes, steamed vegetables, milk porridge. Two types of juices and pastries. Didn't leave hungry. Cleaning was reduced only to a change of towels, and sometimes they polisosili near the entrance and EVERYTHING! Since we returned only in the evenings, the quality of cleaning was also not the main thing. Linen was changed only once. Passports are taken as a deposit at the hotel. On the day of departure, we packed our things in advance and went down to the reception and gave the administrator a card from the room. He asked to wait until the room was checked and after a few minutes he told us that we needed to go up to the room. In previously read reviews about the hotel, some tourists wrote that the hotel staff bred "ours" for money, so going up to the room, we already assumed that we would have to fork out, but for what exactly, we did not know. Everything turned out to be banal: one small towel was missing from the bathroom. Having filed a claim, we were told that for a non-existent towel measuring 30 x 50 cm, we would have to pay 40 drkh (400 rubles). Since the bus was supposed to come in 15 minutes and the suitcase was already packed with a film, we gave the money to the administrator without understanding and without scandal, while he smiled so sweetly and probably wished us a happy journey. It’s unpleasant to realize that you were lit on a towel, but what can you do. So if you are considering this hotel for a holiday, count the towels every day and look into the bar, as there is no inventory of the contents of the bar and prices. We left some money in the safe in the room, some we took with us. Nothing was missing from the safe. There are no Russian speaking staff at the hotel. In general, we did not have a very positive impression of the hotel, so I would not recommend staying there, although we are used to relaxing in economy class and are not picky. Have a good rest!
