for its price category, the hotel is normal, certainly better than its neighbors (on the coast: Grand Hotel, Lou Lou, Golden Beach motel, Lords Beach, Al Bustan) and city hotels that were offered to us at the same price. Our neighbors stayed at this hotel not for the first time and said that the Grand Hotel next door is much worse. The hotel has three advantages: 1) price, 2) close proximity to the sea, 3) the presence of a large swimming pool. We flew to the Emirates at the end of September, just before the start of the "high season", which is why we were able to afford vouchers. In the first days after we arrived, it was VERY humid and hot (just like in a steam room in a bathhouse, terribly disgusting), and even at night it didn’t get better. But then the climate became a bit drier and we were able to endure the heat. In principle, it is correct that the season is considered winter, in the summer it is generally unbearable to be there. The first impression of the hotel was certainly not very good. Immediately the smell of dampness and some kind of neglect hit my nose, and their rooms are not the best. First they settled in a room with a sea view, then moved to the one we bought: street view. The second room was even worse because the air conditioner smelled awful of mold. We asked to do something about it, a man came and cleaned the conder, but this only partially solved the problem. We arrived in the evening, therefore, we were not fed, and we decided to walk in search of food, after a short search we found a small, dirty Palestinian shop, where we bought canned food and bread quite cheaply. It immediately caught my eye that it was not customary for them to walk on the streets, especially in sleeping areas - not a soul. Nutrition.
We took only breakfast, in principle, most of the hotel residents also ate. Here they wrote that they were monotonous. I liked it: there was always something new, different types of sausages / omelettes, you eat so much that you don’t feel like eating before dinner. We spent the first half of the day on the beach / near the pool, then we rested and went to Dubai by shuttle to Deira City Center. They got on the subway and went to see the city. Once we took a taxi to the Dubai Mall and the trip cost us 80 dirhams, which, in principle, is inexpensive, given the distance. There is no animation at the hotel, but there are a lot of German pensioners. Even the music is almost inaudible. In general, boring, especially in the evenings. And somehow you don’t feel like drinking in such heat, so the only entertainment left was a player, books and TV, and sometimes table tennis. In general, we really liked the emirates themselves, at least once it’s worth coming and seeing - especially the Dubai metro, Burj Khalifa (which you can climb), dancing fountains and so on... but the hotel is the worst of those in which I was in Turkey and Egypt. But it is reassuring that it is better than others in this price category. Please note that in addition to the amount for the ticket, you will have to spend a lot more, since the prices are not the cheapest. It took us, in addition to the amount of the voucher, another $ 1.200 for current expenses - and we did not go shopping.
By the way, about shopping - this is perhaps the only entertainment for the local population and tourists. Shopping centers, shops, supermarkets and shops are open on every corner, so you will not be left hungry.
