The country that surprised the Guinness Book of Records.
In April of this year, we rested at the Carlton Hotel 4 * with the whole family: grandmother, grandfather, daughter and grandson of five years. It is very upsetting that with the growth of the dollar, our ability to get out of the country is becoming increasingly difficult. We have to reduce the number of rest days, etc. Last summer, our family rested not in the best boarding house in Crimea and for almost the same money as in the Emirates.
My husband and I visited almost 20 countries of the world, and my daughter traveled all over Europe, was in Peru, China. The presence of a small child dramatically changed our plans and we had to part with the dream of traveling to our beloved Asia.

We flew to the Emirates on a Ural Airlines charter. On April 14, we changed the time of departure from the country, and at a very inconvenient time for us. At 14.30 our trip from Tver to Domodedovo began. The plane's flight was postponed from 4.00 to 0.50. We flew 5 hours. The plane is small, cramped, the aisles are narrow. There are many children. Everyone is screaming. Surprisingly, for the first time in many years of flying, we were not offered drinks. Then the stewards gave everyone a package of food and offered a choice: tea, coffee, juice, water, other drinks. We poured half the juice into a small paper cup. And that is all. Now this is the norm for 5 hours of flight. The service is very unpretentious. I was very, very ashamed of this crew of flight I 63091 (April 14.0. 45).
The whole family dreamed of admiring the beauties of Dubai Airport. But, alas, we were not lucky. The plane landed at another Dubai airport, where there was nothing remarkable. We had to travel all over Dubai. After 1.5 hours we were at the hotel.
We are in the Emirates for the second time. Prior to that, rested in September in the Grand Hotel. Arriving at Dubai Airport, we were stunned by the grandiosity of the building, the unusual design, the huge areas, the most beautiful waterfall on the wall 5-6 floors high, the transparent scurrying elevators, the underground metro between the terminals. We were confused and went in the other direction from the customs. I rode elevators, the subway, climbed the escalator up and down....Unexpectedly, we met a Russian tourist who knows English. Thanks to her, more than a dozen "lost" tourists got out of the labyrinth of the airport.
Dubai and Sharjah are close by. We drove from the airport to the hotel for about 20 minutes with our mouths open, contemplating the extraordinary beauty of the huge skyscrapers that stood like a solid wall along the road. The weather also pleased us: the air was over 50 degrees, the water in the sea was +37, and in the pool +34. Nightmare. This was in September 2014.
Carlton Hotel is located at the very beginning of Sharjah and is the first building on the Caribbean coast. Further along the coastline there are 6-7 more hotels and hotels across the road. There are also two restaurants and a shop. This is the outskirts of Sharjah. The coastal area is not yet fully developed. The rest of the huge number of hotels is located in the city center around the Khalid lagoon. On buses, tourists are taken to hotels for swimming in the sea.
Remember that Sharjah is the strictest Emirate. It is strictly forbidden to drink alcoholic beverages and beer. Get in a taxi and in 15 minutes you are in Dubai. Here, drink as much as you like. Or take it with you from home.

At 8:30 we arrived at the hotel. Check-in to rooms at 13-14 hours. Our child is on the road from 15.00 without sleep and normal food. For a very long time we had to persuade our granddaughter to ask for a reception room from a Russian-speaking employee. Our baby came up to her and began to whine in a plaintive voice: “Auntie! Auntie! I am very tired, I have not slept all day and I really want to eat! Give me a number, please. " Everyone laughed together, but the number was given. Only my husband and I were left to wait in the lobby. At 13.15 we received the keys.
Carlton Hotel was built in the national style, a small and cozy hotel. I really liked the floors in the corridors, covered with thick carpet. So the hotel was quiet. The room is spacious. Two single beds with lots of pillows, a large wardrobe with hangers for every taste, a large dressing table, a TV with several Russian channels, telephones, a refrigerator, a safe, an electric kettle with a set for coffee and tea, a daily 1.5 liter bottle of water. There are no water sources on the peninsula and they get all the water on an industrial scale from the sea. This is normal drinking water, and the salts necessary for the body are added to the bottles. We were also pleased with the iron and ironing board, which we never had in the hotels where we lived. Disposable slippers, shoe brush, scales. The bathroom is in trouble, toilet, bathroom and a set of towels that are changed every day. Sets of soaps, shampoos, washing water, lyoton gel, toothbrushes with tiny paste, disposable razors with gel, ear sticks, tampons… All bathroom equipment is a bit old. The once white plumbing gave off yellowness, the grout between the tiles has long disappeared. I want to say that in my daughter's room (they lived two rooms away from us) the plumbing is all new and blue, apparently, there was a renovation. The room was cleaned daily, but it was rarely seen to vacuum, as the crumbs from the tea party lay untouched. Pay attention to the ceiling and you will see a sign with an arrow, where the arrow points to Qibla, the place where Muslims should face to pray.
We took two meals a day - breakfast from 7 to 11 and lunch from 13 to 16. Lunch for dinner can be changed without prior arrangement (the food is the same). At the entrance to the restaurant sits an employee who writes down the room number and the number of people. The restaurant is large, clean and bright. Almost all the staff knows or understands Russian. They work quickly, quietly, without fuss. There are always empty seats in the restaurant.
The menu is almost the same every day. In the morning: oatmeal, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, side dishes, stewed vegetables, sausages, beans, pancakes, salads, muesli, cereals, tea, coffee, always lemon and mint, croissants, sweet rolls, jams, butter, yogurt, fruit salads , and from fruits - only watermelon. I want to especially note the quality of juices that are poured into containers from bags. Very tasty! I especially liked the mango. This is not Turkey for you, where powder is poured into a container in the morning, and then topped up with water all day.

For lunch: soup, salads, sauces, various side dishes, stewed vegetables, chicken, often meat and meat with mushrooms, fish, tea, coffee, a huge number of small cakes, watermelon. The food is normal and you will not stay hungry. But when you are relaxing by the sea, you simply need seafood, and not just fish.
The hotel area is small. To the right of the reception there is an exit to the sea. Here, towels are issued on cards. Nearby is a small playground with swings and slides --- all this under an awning. Next is a nice big pool for adults with a depth of 1 to 2.2 meters. It is heated up to + 27 degrees. Near tennis court. There is a sauna. Small children's pool under an awning. A stone's throw from the pool, the sea is the Caribbean Bay. When we drove to the hotel, we were upset that now the weather is colder than usual (both air and sea). We arrived in the rain and thunderstorm, which is very rare here. After lunch the rain stopped. The next day the sun was shining, but a strong wind was blowing. The weather quickly improved, but the sea wanted to be warmer. By the end of the week the air was already over 40 degrees. Pleased with a very pleasant purest white sand, an unusually transparent clean sea, where sunbeams played on the surface of the water. The water in the sea was at first + 24, and then we lost the thermometer. You need to know that around 9-10 o’clock tourists are brought to the beach from other hotels where there is no sea, so try to take a seat before this time. Usually there were no problems with the places.
About 600 meters from the hotel towards Dubai on the coast there is an oceanarium. Beautifully designed territory, a playground for children on an old ship, around a park with flowers, fountains. Very nice environment and great place for kids. The aquarium is open all day. An adult ticket costs 25 dirhams, and a child ticket costs 15 dirhams. It's nice that for pensioners of any nationality the entrance is free. With this ticket you can visit the exhibition of ancient ships. We have seen many aquariums, but this one is not the best. The collection of fish is not rich. It is very difficult to photograph fish in aquariums due to the specific lighting. There is a huge aquarium with a viewing path. Of the fish there are the most nimble young sharks. We saw one big turtle. There were no skates. It was a pity to look at two half-dead moray eels. Many fish lie motionless at the bottom... But you need to take children to the aquarium. I think they will like it. Children will not understand the deplorable state of some fish.
Be sure to go to the "Golden Center" (the bus from the hotel and back is free). Unusually beautiful two buildings, reminiscent of locomotives. Gold is sold in one building, and clothes, shoes, souvenirs are sold in the other... If you pass under the bridge, you will get to the huge Sharjah indoor market, where you can buy vegetables, fruits, nuts. In the other half of the market they sell freshly caught fish. It is a great pleasure to look at unprecedented overseas fish. I have never seen half a fish in my life.

We took a taxi to Khalid Bay (this is the city center). We watched the Al Noop Mosque and the singing fountains. Everywhere they write that the fountains are open daily from 18.00 every half hour. Around the Khalid lagoon there is a large green area, an amusement park for children, in the middle of the lagoon there is a green island with a water park and attractions. All this is not free. Fountains began to work only at 19.30, instead of the declared 18.00. They say that some days they don't even work. Compare this fountain with the fountain in Dubai is not even close. It is amazing there - a fabulous, beautiful, powerful, enchanting performance with marvelous, exciting music. Watch it once and remember it for the rest of your life.
We sent one daughter to Abu Dhabi. There is no need to travel with a small child: he will not understand anything, but will only be exhausted. We ourselves last time visited everything that is possible. Abu Dhabi is the capital of the Emirates and is located on a huge number of islands. The greenest Emirate. Can anyone be left indifferent by the dazzling Sheikh Zayed Mosque - this is the main treasury and a showcase of the countless wealth of the country. The mosque is the eighth "Wonder of the World". Emirates is a country of skyscrapers, a state with a highly developed economy. Having discovered huge reserves of oil and gas, they managed to build fabulously beautiful cities among the waterless desert and create amazing conditions for the life of their compatriots. Emirates: amazing, fabulously beautiful, richest country in the world; a country with a great future; a country that is trying to surprise the whole world and fill all the pages of the Guinness Book of Records. The irresistible desire to always be the first and the best is their way of life. You can talk about the Emirates for hours. I recommend everyone to visit this country and see these wonders with their own eyes. You will never regret. Only you need to go here in the spring or at the end of September. All summer it's hot for +50 in the shade, huge humidity and a boiling sea—not everyone can stand this.
Rested very well. The hotel corresponds to 4 * and is good for a relaxing family holiday. The day of departure has come. We warn all tourists that in the Emirates, tourists are not always informed about the time of departure. The previous time, we spent several hours at the hotel waiting for the transfer, and when we got through to the tour operator, we were scolded, since sending tourists was not her concern. This time we specifically discussed this topic with the hotel guide.
"Ural Airlines" were at the "height". Not only was the departure time changed from 11.00 to 9.00. The Emirate of Departure has been changed: instead of Dubai, we fly from Ras Al Kaiman. Departure from the hotel at 4.00 (and this is with a small child). It took about two hours to get to the airport. The airport is almost empty. Planes rarely fly there. Our plane was cramped, with narrow aisles, and packed full of passengers. This time they gave us a drink, and then they gave us breakfast, which consisted of a palm-sized bun, a thin piece of sausage and a cucumber. It was an unforgettable sophistication of Ural Airlines. Bravo, Ural guys!

Despite some unpleasant moments of the organization of rest, I think that our trip was a success. They all returned rested, tanned, bathed in plenty. Communicated with very hospitable, sympathetic, good-natured and calm people. We learned a lot about the smiling country, which broke all records in the Guinness Book of Records. Happy travels to you all!
