Hotel ratings by criteria:
I will describe in comparison. vacationed in Coral beach Sharjah 4 years ago.
Carlton 4* is better than Coral 4*:
* the presence of a balcony in the room (it was very desirable for me),
*proximity to the infrastructure of grocery stores (2 markets nearby. Within walking distance of a mini-market with a slightly overpriced price. Or 15-20 minutes walk - a good store with good prices and assortment).
* availability of places of "culture and recreation". 10 minutes walk - Sharjah Aquarium and Sea Museum, Canal. 25-35 minutes walk - Ferris wheel, entertainment center.
* the size of the rooms. our number was in the central place of the main building and it was larger than usual (there are only 2 of them on the floor). the room itself is about 20 sq. m. (excluding balcony, bathroom, corridor).
* by sea. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or a pattern, but 4 years ago the water was very dirty. after dinner it was impossible to force oneself to swim in the sea. here the water is a tear.

Coral is better than Carlton:
*food. assortment and names of dishes (took half board).
* the presence of swimming pools with slides, magnificent locker rooms with showers, toilets, hair dryers separately for the sea and for the pools.
* Shuttle bass routes (I am haunted by the feeling that Carlton, with its 1 route in Sharjah and 2 in Dubai, has noticeably passed),
*large green area
*bath set consisted of soap, cap, gel, shampoo and lotion. in Carlton there was only one cap, used on the first day, no more brought. no lotion (take more of your skin moisturizers), but a lot of paper handkerchiefs.
* there was a Russian-speaking girl at the reception of Koral

Generally, the staff is polite and friendly. but not without the human factor. caught and not in the mood. they can be humanly understood, but they are at work.

Chalet rooms are said to be worse than the main building. I have not been inside, but in appearance I would not go there. if you're in a chalet, pay attention. when you enter the hotel look at the numbering.
on the left - rooms overlooking the pool, on the right - access to the courtyard. if in the left wing there is some minimal view from the window, perspective, horizon, then the right wing is a closed space of a lawn, a massage parlor and something like a one-story building for a spa.

for the central body, the left wing is also preferred. There is a view of the pool and courts. right wing - to the utility yard.
the shuttle bass travels around Sharjah only to the "cars" - the central souk, the central market.
get off the bus, go to the mosque, across the road from it to bypass the bridge - you find yourself in the place of 4 markets: fruit and vegetable, fish, meat, poultry. try sugar cane and green coconut milk.

go forward through the mosque without bypassing the bridge - you find yourself in a cheap area for Hindus - Rolla. cheap souvenirs, cheap clothes and accessories there (shops like Day to day center).

US dollars are accepted in stores. change is given at a very good rate.

try to keep a trifle. it is better to pay with taxi drivers "on account"

did not take excursions. the internet is full of options for a self-organized vacation in Dubai. tried it - liked it.

have a nice holiday!
ask, I will answer

PS: I give credit to Carlton. we had a grief on vacation, we ended up in the hospital. the hotel treated with all his heart. took great care of us. many thanks to them!
