Loved the tour to Porvoo in early September. We found it on the company's website, the tour was called "The Charm of the Middle Ages." We liked the name and decided to find out what kind of Middle Ages is in Finland. They called, they arrived, there is an anthill in the office, everyone is going somewhere, which means you can buy, since there is a demand :) We signed an agreement, the day before we found out information on the bus and the guide and drove off. The city is really very nice, it's nice to walk around it, there are a lot of interesting facts. Of the medieval buildings there, probably, only the Cathedral is suitable, and everything else is the end of the 19th, beginning of the 20th century, but this does not spoil the impression at all, on the contrary, it gives romance to the city. Therefore, I would call the tour not "the charm of the Middle Ages", but somehow "the charm of the romantic age", or something towards the charm of romanticism :) I also really liked the chocolate shop, it will please those with a sweet tooth.
I also liked the rest in the spa hotel on the estate, the estate, of course, is chic, also somewhere in the late 19th century, a very pleasant atomosphere. The spa is not as crowded as usual in Imatra, so everything was comfortable. In general, a really very good and thoughtful tour, the guide was very interesting to listen to. I am glad that I chose the Porvoo tour and not Helsinki or Imatra.
