Holidays in Fujairah

Rested in Fujairah, hotel "Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort" 5 *, from November 27 to December 4, 2012.

We chose a beach holiday.

The Emirate of Fujairah is considered the most picturesque emirate in the country and the Arabs come here as a resort. But, given the peculiarities of the climate in the country, nature, in principle, is quite stingy.

And maybe someone reading that this is a very picturesque emirate surrounded by mountains will be somewhat disappointed to see the reality.

The surrounding nature is not lush, really rather stingy. But the coast is being developed, hotels are being built, and the entire infrastructure is located on the territory of the hotels. Now in the place where our

hotel, there are several hotels and you can walk along the shore in the territory of other hotels, see how others relax. It's not far and walking along the Indian Ocean is a pleasant pleasure.

Our hotel is located on the shores of the Gulf of Oman in the Indian Ocean.

The territory is green, well-groomed, not very small, private beach. There are enough sun loungers for everyone, towels can be changed several times during the day. There were not very many people at that time, the hotel was about half full. By the end of the holiday people increased.

December 2 is a national holiday in the Emirates and a lot of Arab families came to the hotel for the weekend. But, in my opinion, they do not interfere with rest at all. Do not scream, do not make noise, children do not rush. They keep very dignified and a little apart.

In the reviews that we read before the trip, it was written that this is a resort area for the weekend, Arab families constantly come to relax.

We were brought to the hotel by car, the transfer was paid in advance. We met with smiles, a nice girl took our documents for registration. And they brought us a drink of hibiscus. A very beautiful hall.

In the reviews we read that there are problems with the minibar, so we asked the minibar to be removed. The reception only speaks English. English is spoken by almost all the staff. One girl who works in the SPA center speaks Russian. The staff responsible for sports is Russian-speaking.

Upon check-in, they take a deposit, 100 dirhams per day from the room, and return it upon check-out. We didn't have any problems with that.

Before the trip, we heard that the view from the room from the 3rd floor (in our opinion), they have a 2nd floor more beautiful than from the 1st floor and we asked for a higher room. We were not refused. The view was really nice, you could see both the ocean and greenery.

The room was normal, like everything was. Very high ceiling in the form of a cone. Balcony, refrigerator, TV. I can’t say whether it’s all 5 * or not. Nothing irritated. The air conditioner worked.

They cleaned every day, brought water for free, 0.5 liters per person. Of course tea. Coffee.

We only had breakfast and it seems to me that they are the same everywhere.

The hotel has several restaurants and bars.

Resting people are Russians, Ukrainians, a little German and English speech.

In the pool free of charge every day at 10.30 and 16.00 aqua aerobics. Very popular. Coaches speak Russian. Also every day water polo is also popular.

There is also stretching and some kind of gymnastics, but we didn’t go there and I can’t say how good it is.

Also free of charge in the SPA center is a decent gym, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and indoor pool (indoors). Massage for money.

There is a free bus to Dubai 2 times a week, you need to sign up in advance and to Fujairah (city).

There is also a free bus every day from Fujairah Mall. Leaves the hotel at 11.20 and leaves the supermarket at 18.00. The shopping center is not located in the city itself and therefore, having arrived there, you will only be there.

The most ordinary shopping center, there is a restaurant area, large enough and those who are not interested in shopping can not go. True, you can not wait for the bus, but return to the hotel by taxi. Also, after spending a little time in the supermarket, you can take a taxi to the city of Fujairah, it's about 10 minutes, look and then return to the supermarket to the bus or go to the hotel. We didn't use a taxi, but everyone says it's very cheap.

Many, having gone to Dubai on an excursion, then took a taxi and drove on their own or to see the city for themselves and what they had not yet seen or for shopping.

Upon arrival at the airport in Dubai, representatives of tour operators give everyone an envelope with promotional papers about excursions and prices for them, as well as the time of meeting at the hotel with the guide, which is usually on the second day after arrival. I strongly advise everyone to go to this meeting,

You can learn a lot of useful things about the hotel, what is for money and what is free, they will tell you about the excursions in detail and it will be clear whether you want it or not, they tell you how much a taxi can cost to the neighboring market, to Fujairah, Dubai. They will help you to take a taxi, it is worth taking taxis that stand at the hotel or not. Since they speak Russian everything can be asked.

Often questions do not appear immediately, or we did not want to go on a tour, but then we wanted to. The representative of our tour operator lived in Dubai and said that the next time she would come only in a week. Somehow, we immediately had few questions and we did not immediately think of excursions. After talking with people, almost all vacationers speak Russian and it didn’t seem to me that this was bad, but maybe because the hotel was not full, we learned that a representative of another tour operator is here every day from 9 am to 13.00. They are all in the hotel lobby in uniform and it is impossible not to recognize them.

They came and asked everyone. They told us everything in detail and we took a ticket for a tour from her.

Word of mouth works, you learn a lot of useful information from each other. People are willing to tell, especially if they have already lived here for several days. We learned about all the few animations from a woman we met at the hotel, she learned from another. I think that it should be written somewhere, but I did not find it after walking around the hotel. We were also told by the aqua aerobics trainer during class.

A lot of families with children rested in the hotel. Children are mostly of kindergarten age, because schoolchildren are probably studying.

The guides said that this is the best time, the temperature is 26-28 degrees, the ocean is warm.

At 6 pm it was already dark and the pool was closed. Although there is lighting near the pool and it might be nice if the pool worked longer.

Moreover, the evening is still long and there is nothing special to do. My friend, with whom we rested here, said that when she rested in China, the pool was closed at 11 pm.

At the end of the rest, the last two days, some very small jellyfish appeared in the ocean, about half the nail of the little finger on the hand. But they stung very unpleasantly, it seems not dangerous, but very unpleasant. On the last day there were a lot of them, the lifeguard who is on duty on the shore put up red flags, they just didn’t let anyone into the ocean. This was the most unpleasant thing for us during our vacation and the news, before the trip we read a lot, but we never wrote about it. They wrote about oil drops in the ocean, but our water was very clean. The lifeguard said that jellyfish appear in winter. Maybe they don't always exist.

We had a trip to Dubai. It certainly must be seen.

Already by today's mind, probably it was necessary to take a combined tour - beach holidays x + 2-3 days in Dubai. Because one excursion for Dubai is still not enough, and of course, we didn’t have any shopping in Dubai, we didn’t have enough time.

In general, I liked the trip. So we were tied to finances and the price-quality ratio was very acceptable. Rested very well. I advise everyone to go with a positive attitude, get more information about the place you are going to, some misunderstandings probably happen on all trips.

Thanks to "Diamond Travels" for the selection of the tour, for providing a lot of information before the trip. For a long time we could not decide on the country we still want to go to and what we have enough of our finances for. I wanted “cheap and cheerful and warm”.
