I know enough about the timeshare rest system, firstly due to the fact that I came across it abroad, often when you are in Europe a person comes up near the hotel and offers to come to the presentation.

In Russia, I also came across such a vacation, but I didn’t go to presentations, especially since the 90s were a rather troubled time, I, like many at that time, tried not to get too involved with something unusual.

A year ago, in Moscow, I was also invited to a presentation (it is surprising, by the way, that the sales methods of timeshare companies are the same all over the world, and even in Russia they are almost the same), but I had to leave for St. Petersburg the next day, therefore, unfortunately (there would be more field for comparison), did not get on it.

And so, relatively recently (about two weeks ago) I visited such a presentation in Novosibirsk - just from the company Sunrise S.

In principle, as I said, I know what a timeshare is, and the fact that it is quite normal in Europe, but in Russia it was a little scary to go to the presentation, but the interest overcame.

For those who are interested, I will give my subjective impressions and a comparison of "how they do it in Europe" and "how they do it here."

First contact

Europe: they usually approach tourists near the hotel, which is logical in principle.

Russia: they approached me at the airport when I flew to Novosibirsk. Which is also logical - where else if not at the airport to look for people who travel frequently.

Second contact:

Europe: practically absent, you are explained the approximate benefits of a timeshare on the spot and are offered to attend a presentation. Sometimes they pick up the phone and call back (apparently when enough people are dialed).

Russia: They pick up the phone + conduct a survey (obviously to weed out people who are not interested in such services in advance, apparently they weed out singles, under 25 years old (judging by the fact that there were only family and about 30 at the presentation), that is, the most solvent and active audience. Later they call back , and apparently so that a person has an incentive to go in the cold for some kind of presentation, they say that the person has won a gift.By the way, they really give a gift.According to my observations: those who are obviously not suitable (not interested in such a holiday, negatively inclined, insolvent , etc.) they usually give household appliances worth about 500-1000 rubles. Those who doubt whether to go or not are given a certificate for a week of free accommodation. The rest are usually not given anything, they just sign a contract, but there are very few of them.

Presentation itself:

Europe: usually this is some kind of restaurant, which is either completely or several tables in a separate corner is occupied by company representatives and potential customers. Usually a small set of light snacks, mineral water. It is strange that they do not give alcohol. Although it may be unethical, especially since some come with children.

The presentation lasts about three hours, films are broadcast (by the way, of good quality), various interactive interactions are practiced between participants and employees of the company, there is a very aggressive sale - I think that the travel agency understands that if the tourist is not sold now, then tomorrow he will simply not be in the country.

Russia: In my case, there was a company office, quite spacious, but slightly overdone with the number of guests.

In principle, it almost does not differ from the European one, with the exception of less professional work - there is no such interaction, dialogue with clients, more boring "telling" about how cool it is to relax on a timeshare. But in general, the sale is also quite strong, it is clear that this is practically a tracing paper from Western sales techniques. Movies are also broadcast, of the same quality, really impressive.

Minus compared to Europe - for the client - they feed only once, they always give water.

Peculiarities:

In Europe, the general price is usually announced to all those present.

In Russia, each table has its own manager, who tries to somehow determine what the client would like in general, and tries to offer him exactly that. However, it is felt that the choice of hotels in Russia is less, therefore, they usually offer only standard destinations - Thailand, Turkey, Spain, Hainan.

You can buy a house not in Asia, but in Europe, but it is clear that the managers are still focused on Asia (probably the difference in the cost of building a hotel and selling it is significantly greater than in Europe).

In general - quite informative. I (knowing their requirements for marital status, went with a friend who pretended to be "husband") received a certificate for a test trip to the cheapest destination - Turkey, and I probably use it, especially since it falls just after the New Year holidays, which I promise I'll write back in detail if I go anyway.

And more about the certificate. The certificate entitles you to free accommodation in apartments, however! there are pitfalls, which, although they are directly stated in the certificate, it will not be superfluous to duplicate them here, you can use the certificate only if you pay for air travel services through the Sunrise S travel agency.

The ticket price is comparable to the cost in non-discount airlines, apparently the travel agency earns on commissions. In addition, you must be married (in practice, as I understand it, this is a pure formality - because I was not required to provide documentary evidence) And one more important point - you will have to endure another 3-hour presentation already at the hotel.

However, it's probably worth it - judging by the photos, the hotel is close to *****. That's all for now, wish me luck, and maybe see you here again with my report :)
