I have rested with Atlas several times (Greece), and, in principle, I was quite satisfied. True, it should be noted that the organization of our last trip to Crete (September 2010) left mixed feelings about itself. It was the work of the travel agency and the manager that they simply forgot that we needed visas ... a separate story, which was, apparently, the first call.
However, when in November the question arose about my mother's vacation in Egypt, I habitually turned to Atlas. A tour was purchased in advance, everything was confirmed, and with a sense of peace I began to expect the day of departure (11/28, Sunday). The day before (Friday 26.11) I myself called Alexandra Tsapurina (Manager for Egypt) with a question about when to pick up tickets, insurance and vouchers. I was told that I could only get them at the airport counter 2.5 hours before departure. In general, a typical practice, they flew like this more than once.
We arrived at the airport 3 hours before departure. Plane at 12:00.
What was our surprise when neither at 9:30 nor at 11:00 the courier did not appear!!!
The telephones of the Atlas office were also silent, dozens of times I listened to the male voice of the answering machine, which said that Sunday was a day off! Alexandra Tsapurina did not provide me with any other way of communication, assuring me that they would always answer me by phone of the office !!!
So, the registration is coming to an end, we are at the counter, mother with a suitcase and in frustrated feelings ... And an absolute misunderstanding of what to do.
If there had been no Intourist courier, I think we would have gone home with our suitcases, but he advised us to contact the flight check-in window and find out if there was a reservation for the plane. Absolutely crushed, I sent my mother without a package of documents to Egypt, completely not knowing at that time whether the hotel was booked for her at all and whether anyone was waiting for her in Sharm El Sheikh.
She immediately went to the central office, which still works on Sunday in "duty mode", where two girls sat. To the question: how to act in a similar situation for a tourist who cannot even contact a travel agency by phone, who is to blame and whether they are waiting for their mother in Egypt at all - no one could answer.
As it turned out later, the meeting party, prescribed in the Agreement, had no idea about the tourist sent to them. Alexandra Tsapurina, staying on weekends, gave me instructions on the phone, actually offering my mother to do the work on the spot that she had to do herself: come, find, tell, explain, ask, etc. (in a foreign country, not knowing the language). As a result, everything was resolved, of course, the tourist was met in Egypt by TezTour, and after a while he was safely settled.
However, it cost a lot of nerves and just human experiences when you go to another country, not at all understanding whether they are waiting for you there.
We were able to find out the medical insurance number only on the second day of active calls to Alexandra Tsapurina, it's difficult, after all, to dictate the number.
By the way, I did not receive an answer to my Complaint, accepted for consideration by the General Director of AtlasTravel LLC Smirnov D.A.
The desire to contact Atlas again has completely disappeared, because the travel agency kindly offers you to solve the problems of departure / arrival, transfer and accommodation for your money. And I would like to rest.
