We went to meet the new year 2016 in Jordan, through Pegas Touristik. Naturally, when buying a tour, a New Year's dinner was imposed, costing $ 70 per person. Upon arrival, the hotel manager did not understand for a long time what we wanted from him, and what kind of New Year's dinner we were talking about. The fact is that the hotel is in transit, there are few people there even during the season, and on NG we were practically alone. The hotel does not organize any gala dinner, because and it makes no sense. I will say more, during the week that we lived there, we were the only ones who had breakfast and dinner at the hotel (the price of the tour included breakfast and dinner).
Returning to the question of the New Year's dinner. We complained to the local representative of Pegasus, he dealt with the hotel all day long and naturally, as happens in such cases, the hotel nodded at Pegasus, Pegasus nodded at the hotel. As a result, after long discussions among themselves, naturally in the local dialect, the hotel manager promised us that there would still be dinner.
At 9 pm (!) we were invited by phone to a restaurant. We went down. We were alone in the restaurant (!!!). We were offered to choose from the standard menu (the fact that the menu was standard became clear the very next day, because the whole next week we were offered the same dishes), which consisted of 1 soup, 3 hot ones to choose from, 2 salads to choose from , and also, they especially noted that the dinner was festive, therefore, we are supposed to have a bottle of wine (0.33 bottle of dry local wine, which neither I nor my husband drink) and a “special” dessert (!!!) 2 cakes from neighboring store, also a little edible. The rest of the days there was an ordinary dessert, much more delicious. Of course, no entertainment program was provided. We had dinner and left the hotel restaurant around 21.30. On this New Year's dinner for $ 140 for two was over.
The next day, at the reception, we were met by the hotel manager, who speaks excellent Russian, who was aware of our problem.
He told us that the hotel did not set any conditions for the New Year's dinner for Pegasus. The initiative came directly from Pegasus. Those. the money went directly to Pegasus. The hotel did not see them, as we New Year's dinner.
Upon arrival in Moscow, through our tour agent, we wrote a claim to Pegas with a request to return the money for the service not rendered. 2.5 months (!!!), instead of the prescribed couple of weeks, Pegasus considered our claim. The result was their official letter, drawn up by not very professional Pegasus lawyers (I myself work in a law firm and I know how and who writes such replies), in which it was explained to us idiots that under the conditions of the tour, the time of the New Year's dinner and its menu are not negotiated. Dinner took place. The money will not be returned.
As a result, the travel agent refunded the money to us, but this did not bring proper satisfaction.
My claim to Pegasus was not caused by poverty and the desire to return $ 140, but simply by the principle, to return the money that was first pulled out of us by imposing an unnecessary service on us (it was impossible to buy a tour without this), and then, this service was not provided yet (not I believe that a bottle of wine 0.33 and 2 cakes cost $140).
There were many more mistakes from Pegasus (both on excursions and on the hotel itself), but most of all, the New Year's dinner and the position of Pegasus in relation to their customers were infuriating.
Pegasus failed the loyalty test. Greed will not lead to good.
