Rested in September in Kemer. Lying on the beach all day is not about us, we are active people, we love to travel and go on excursions. Even before the trip, we planned a number of excursions where we had never been before. Knowing about the excessive appetites of the host travel companies, we chose in advance other companies whose prices are much lower. So, on the advice of friends, we chose Grand Utopia Travel. An excursion along the Demre-Mira-Kekova route we chose for two cost us $50. For comparison, the hotel guide on the first day offered this tour 2 times more expensive. A convenient form of payment, you can pay via the Internet or in the hands of a guide. We preferred the second option. At the appointed time, a minibus arrived to us, in which there were 15 people with a guide. The guide Olga all the way (and we drove to Demre for about 2 hours) loaded our heads with interesting information, we learned a lot from her lips for the first time.
In Demre we visited the Lycian tombs and the ruins of the ancient city of Myra.. Amazing place and great views. It is amazing how ancient people managed to climb these sheer cliffs. Then there was an excursion to the church of St. Nicholas the Pleasant. Interestingly, in a Muslim country, Christian monuments are still preserved in such excellent condition. Even the frescoes are still preserved. Olga told us a lot of interesting things about the life of St. Nicholas. After we dined at a restaurant in the lower World (lunch was already included in the price of the tour) and sailed on a yacht to watch from the sea the flooded city near the island of Kekova, which was half submerged as a result of the earthquake. The views there are absolutely incredible. The sea was calm, the water was clear, so we could see marble stairs and columns in the depths. And at the end of the tour, we anchored not far from the coast and enjoyed the warm and clear sea for about an hour.
We drove back tired but happy. Wonderful excursion!
