We went (my husband and I) with this company to St. Petersburg from June 21 to June 24, 2013 (Peterhof, Tsarskoye Selo, Scarlet Sails). The bus was old. The toilet in it did not work, although it was provided. The volume of the guide's microphone was not adjustable and jammed, the air conditioner near the windows blew very strongly. We drove to St. Petersburg for about 14 hours with 2 stops for the toilet - moreover, at gas stations, where, in addition to our bus, there were others. At the first stop, only 1 toilet cubicle worked, and to get there it was necessary to stand for at least an hour and a half, those who could not stand it used the neighboring bushes. At the second stop, there were 3 booths, but there were much more buses. After standing in line for more than 1.5 hours, most were left without time for breakfast. Upon arrival, it was planned to stay in a hotel, which, for unknown reasons, did not happen and the tired, tortured, hungry and dirty were taken to the Peter and Paul Fortress. The first meal took place at about 2 pm.
Then we were taken to Tsarskoye Selo and you can imagine what kind of photos we got after 2 days without a shower. Then everyone was loaded onto a bus with a promise to arrive in an hour at the analogue of Rublevsky highway in St. Petersburg (Repino) for accommodation in a hotel. We drove for about 3 hours, accommodation took another 2 hours (they could not figure out the payment for the group). Hotel "Baltiets" is far from a chic three-ruble note, but it looks more or less normal. The group was horrified and shocked when they saw the place of actual accommodation - it was one of the buildings 5 floors (the farthest) from the building with the reception, with collapsed steps, rotten and rickety doors, with the inscription "Hospital" and the corresponding smell of junk and basement humidity.
Old shabby doors of the 4th floor, two small and very ancient beds with mattresses like in second-class carriages, a chair that looks like it was brought from a dump, stains and drips on the ceiling in the room, wallpaper moving away from the walls, broken, moldy bathroom tiles, peeling off plaster ceiling on the floor and a glass shelf above the sink, a dripping ceiling tied with a bag to a nail on the shower wall, holey curtains - in general, without a couple of liters of alcohol it was even scary to go there, not to sleep there. Appeals to the guide, calls to Moscow, to which, with surprise, Lyudmila (apparently she is also the director of the company) said that this could not be, there are normal conditions - double comfortable rooms. Attempts to pay extra in this hotel or rent a room for a fee in a neighboring hotel were also unsuccessful - there were no empty seats at all. As a result, we spent time outside the room until 5 am, and at 9 am we already handed over the keys.
Further, our adventures continued in the same spirit. Our guide (Nelli Petrovna) was quite knowledgeable, but very soft in character and absolutely incapable of organizing a group, with constantly changing plans. During the excursions, she did not have any identifying marks (umbrellas, flowers, etc., which are usually found in such cases), by which she could be found if you suddenly turn away for a few seconds and lose sight of her. As a result, half of those who wanted to listen to the tour were lost after five minutes, because she was not waiting for anyone, even if she said that you have 5 minutes to take pictures, she disappeared from sight in a minute and moved very quickly.
We did not want to go back to Moscow by bus in such conditions and took train tickets.
Never in our lives have we experienced such pleasure from a trip in the old compartment car of an additional (non-branded) train, as after spending time on a “comfortable” bus and experiencing a night in a “comfortable double room” of a hostel. An amazing contrast of the luxury of Tsarskoye Selo and Peterhof with the conditions organized by this travel agency.
