On "duty" and business matters, I most often travel alone. You have to spend a lot of time in different countries, and sometimes you just want to be alone with yourself. The main issue for me when buying a tour is the speed of paperwork and the complexity of the service. And in this Tour4Friends seems to give odds to a number of firms with which I have already dealt. The cost of the trip turned out to be surprisingly pleasant, I already know this market, and included the price of tickets, and transfer, and insurance.
This time, having decided on the necessary, at least a week, rest (it was in early May), I decided to go to the legendary island of Rhodes, which I remember from my school days. It is difficult to describe the sights of the island of Rhodes, most of which I managed to see in a few words, but I will try.
The famous Rhodes fortress, the stronghold of 19 great masters of hospitals and the knights of Rhodes, looks unusually majestic and reliable even in our age of huge buildings. The fortress has something to please the eye, plus historical exhibitions are often held there.
As throughout Greece, there are plenty of monuments of ancient and medieval architecture in Rhodes. There are definitely enough sights for a week trip. This is the Rhodes acropolis, the ruins of which are part of the picturesque ensemble of the fortress of the knights, and the city of Kamiros, well preserved from the 5th century, with its residential quarters, and the medieval Lindos with the acropolis, which is the 2nd largest and most important in all of Hellas, and the famous natural Park Seven Springs.
I stayed at the Vassilia Hotel (2 *), located in the very center of the town. Pretty cozy, tidy, the level of comfort is quite acceptable, friendly staff.
The hotel itself is located in a pleasant proximity to the warm sea and the Old Town, the food is excellent - thanks to the half board.
