In March 2017, we took a tour with the Sunrise Tour company, so that from 06/12/2017 to 06/25/2017 fly away to rest on a honeymoon.

I would like to immediately introduce all the participants who successfully provided us with a personal hell on vacation.

1. The representative of the company Sunrise Tour - Elena Bardina.

2. Carrier - AZURair.

3. Tour operator - ANEX tour.

4. Hotel - Occidental Punta Cana.

So, the manager - Bardina Elena chose a tour to the Dominican Republic for us, based on our preferences (I wanted paradise beaches in the Bounty style, a beautiful sea / ocean, but at the same time, so that there was something to do on vacation, visit some beautiful places ). So, the manager, promising us a heavenly vacation, picked up the Occidental Punta Cana hotel in Punta Cana, Bavaro for us.

And now, in order about "expectation-reality":

1. A couple of weeks before departure, a Sunrise Tour representative contacted us and said that the flight from Punta Cana to Moscow on 06/25/17 was canceled and suggested that we shift our travel date by 1 day.

It was not quite convenient for us, because in 4 months we assessed the entire timing of the wedding and vacation, performed a number of certain procedures tied to this date, and as a result, such a misfire occurred. But we did not focus on this special attention and agreed, despite the inconvenience. Further, the departure time has shifted. This was also treated calmly (the charter after all). As it turned out later, the above inconveniences are just baby talk and "flowers" compared to what we got next.

2. Day of departure. We are flying with AZURair. First time flying with these airlines. There was no worse flight in our lives: 12 hours of hell in super-cramped, "wooden" chairs, where the knees rest against the seat in front, garbage food and the boorish attitude of the flight attendants. By the way, when we flew there, at least they gave us pillows and blankets. There were no pillows on the way back.

Yes, and yet, upon arrival at the hotel, at a meeting with the guide, we were offered to buy seats in the aisle by the toilet for $ 100 (you can stretch your legs there). Good business, right?

3. When checking into the hotel, at the reception they explained that we were on a honeymoon, which they refused to believe in, because the aforementioned Elena Bardina did not consider it necessary to send this note to the hotel.

We were given the keys to the room, settled us in the 10th building. When we entered the room, we found a Hispanic man having fun with some lady.

Again at the reception. They change our room, but they settle in the same 10th building.

4. About living conditions in the 10th building:

Plumbing is terrible, everything falls off, half does not work. Broken tiles in the bathroom. The roof is leaking so that in the morning you wake up just in the sea. The air conditioner does not maintain the temperature: either you are suffocating from stuffiness, or you are sitting in the refrigerator, and there is no third option.

About the features of the 10th building and the strategy of the hotel to extort money from tourists:

As it turned out later, the 10th building is the oldest building of the hotel, which is in disrepair. All other buildings have been renovated, there are quite comfortable living conditions. BUT! The hotel staff INTENTIONALLY settle tourists in the 10th building, so that they later approach them with requests for relocation from other buildings FOR MONEY. When we approached with such a request, we were not moved the first time, but the last time, the young man at the reception just carefully wrote on a piece of paper a certain amount for which he was ready to move us. We were indignant, did not pay anything, however, with grief in half, we were moved to a normal building.

After talking with other guests of the hotel, we came to the conclusion that the scheme is quite well-established: ALL are first settled in the 10th building, then tourists unfasten 100-300 dollars to the hotel staff, and after that they are relocated.

It seems that in this situation, we "got off easy", BUT GUYS, WE HAVE A HONEYMOON!!! And we obviously didn't expect that...

6. About food at the hotel:

The food is disgusting. Buffet, everything is very Americanized: fatty, fried, low quality cholesterin food, which is not suitable for "Russian stomachs". And that's half the trouble. The biggest tragedy is that 80% of the food is stale. Not only does it taste terrible, but the risk of poisoning is also high. IN 12 DAYS WE POISONED 3 TIMES!

The bar is disgusting: a lot of syrup is added to cocktails in order to drown out the taste of the cheap liquor that is poured into it. The wine is terrible too.

7. About the beach:

The beach is dirty. There are cigarette butts, cups, candy wrappers, etc. lying around. A bunch of algae on the shore, which are not always cleaned.

There are sunbeds, no umbrellas.

But the ocean is beautiful. Can not argue. But this is the merit of nature.

8. About excursions:

We went to Saona. This place did not justify itself at all: a dreary road, dirty beaches that are teeming with tourists, and everything is also garbage food, which is prepared in unsanitary conditions.

4 huts: Divorce for big money.

Canopy: the only normal excursion. Extreme, impressions. Here we put a solid five.

7. Animation:

None. Or rather, it is, but nothing at all. Every evening they put on "shows" to which pseudo-artists are invited. Look funny.

Conclusion: On the 4th day already howled from everything around. I really wanted to go home. Approached the hotel guide on this issue. We were not allowed to leave early. There was no better vacation. Thanks to all the participants of this holiday for spoiling the honeymoon trip!
