Feedback on the advertising tour "Brazil-Paraguay-Argentina-Chile", organized by Deo Travel LLC. (from 04.12.10)
This tour was announced as an advertising one and originally assumed a visit to another country - "Uruguay". Much has been done, as they say now, to promote and sell this tourist product: a special offer !!! , 5 countries in South America, only for employees of travel agencies.
Then it turned out that this tour was organized by the Argentinean travel agency Ankristur, with which, it should be noted, I did not conclude an agreement, and the Deo employees did not know what they were selling: there was no representative with the group, and before that they had given the route with the firm "Ankristur" did not pass. On the eve of the trip, I tried to prove to the Deo manager Ekaterina that the tour was ordinary, not advertising, because my friends had just arrived from a similar tour with Ankristur and there was nothing close to advertising there.
What started here: and provide the details of the company, and business cards, and visits to hotels according to the program for 5-6 in each country. But all this is visibility and fuss. The first, without sufficient grounds, was to cancel a visit to Uruguay, allegedly they did not open visas. But in fact, Ankristur never drove to Uruguay, and was not going to include it in the program, it’s too troublesome. For them and Paraguay, a novelty, we had to study the route together with them - instead of the indicated 4 hours on the bus to get from the waterfalls to Paraguay 12 o'clock, constantly hearing that we will arrive in an hour. Maybe they just have a different concept of "hour". No business cards were useful, we did not visit hotels, we have nothing to compare with those in which we lived. The organizers of this "advertising" tour or have no idea about such tours at all, but more, in my opinion, pursued commercial interests.
I think that the indicated name of the tour: Brazil-Paraguay-Argentina-Chile does not correspond to the content, since we visited only the capitals of these countries, the familiarization program with which leaves much to be desired. It turns out that we were freed up from visiting hotels so that we could order paid excursions from them, because as travel agents they should know more, and so we have an ordinary tour program “Three Wishes”. In Brazil, the guide Arthur told us so directly: “What do you want!” The day in Brazil began and ended with the collection of money. The guide himself
always dissatisfied with something, capricious. The representative of "Ankristura", Christina, who accompanied during the tour, did not react to the tourists' complaints about Arthur.
When recruiting a group, the mandatory knowledge of English was not indicated, the group was supposed to be Russian-speaking, but, for example, I don’t know who came to the airport for me,
no name, no place of work, who does not speak Russian at all, and, accordingly, could not help the tourist whose suitcase was missing, she herself had to communicate with the airline. Excursions to the waterfalls were accompanied by guides who did not speak a word of Russian. As for our escort from "Ankristur" - Christina - a special case, if in one phrase: two laps three floods instead of a serious attitude to business: constant delays (the group will gather and wait for the guide) , no skills in organizing people (the group could wait an hour for 1-2 people late for an hour, led by Christina), complete ignorance of the national characteristics of a Russian person (speaking Russian does not mean being Russian). Christina repeatedly needed to be reminded of the request, but this is not the fact that she will do it.
As for financial issues, for example, to figure out what was wrongly calculated in the hotel, or asked her to solve the issue of collecting money for the person who was robbed, she does not hear this at all and leaves these problems. Moreover, on the last day she was not with the group, she flew away before us, we checked in and flew out at the airport ourselves. How many times I haven’t flown, but this is the first time this has happened to me on a promotional tour. The tour program is stretched, for example, what was planned in Buenos Aires could be done in 2 days, and was it worth it to go to the ranch for 7 hours to ride horses for 20 minutes. Of course, there are ranches that really show the national characteristics of the Argentines, but it costs more, and in the organization of our tour we always felt
economic approach on the part of the organizers. All the mentioned drawings and gifts are trinkets, and even the promised discs in Argentina were never given. It's a shame that such an organization
on the part of Ankristura, it did not contribute to a more complete acquaintance with the capitals, due to delays, ignorance of the route time on the road, and the selection of guides by country leaves much to be desired. .
It is a pity that so many negative things had to be said about the organization of this tour, but, frankly, for me, the opening of such an organization of a promotional tour, and also from whom? After all, Deo Travel has been on the travel services market for a long time, a company with a name, its image, a guarantee of reliability.
ness. Many participants of the tour were perplexed by this. I don’t want to think that these are signs of a deterioration in the position of the Deo company, that it is so illegible in partners, which is the main thing for it
It's not an image, it's a benefit.
