My review is personal impressions and information that may be useful for those who are going to Vienna for the first time.

VISA. In St. Petersburg, Austrian visas are issued by the Finnish consulate and, as it turned out, it was even easier to get one than the Finnish one. It took a hotel reservation (Booking), a / b, insurance, passports and questionnaires. There was not a single person at the Austrian window in the consulate (February). Auntie called on the phone, the window was opened, everything was taken away, and seven days later they issued visas. Everything!

AIR TICKETS. State Customs Committee of Russia, cost 26.000 rubles for three.

HOTEL. It turned out not so easy to find a hotel in the center for three (two rooms) at an affordable price. Through booking booked Suite Hotel 900 m zur Oper 4 *, from the name of which it is clear that it is 900 m from the Opera. I really liked the hotel. Two-room suite, not small, two TVs (35 channels, no Russian), bathroom with hairdryer and accessories, kitchenette with microwave, comfortable beds, excellent linens.

Internet in the lobby is free, in the room for a fee. Great breakfast: great selection, great coffee, lots of fruits, yoghurts, salads, omelettes, sausages, juices, pastries...We didn't even have time to try everything in a week. The hotel has a garage (I think 18 euros per day). We had a smoking room (as requested), the windows overlooked the street, so with the window open it is a little noisy due to the tram, but there are rooms with windows facing the courtyard - it will be quiet. There are Russian-speaking staff, you can order excursions in Russian. The cost is 826 euros (7 nights), booked for a month.

TRANSFER. We decided not to save money and ordered an individual one at the hotel (meeting 39 euros, taxi back 36 euros).

VEIN. Vienna met us with cool but sunny weather. During the week there was only one rainy day (though warm +13). I think it makes no sense to describe the sights, everything has already been said.

I can only say that in addition to the "mandatory" program (St. Stephen's Cathedral, Albertina, Hofburg and Schö nbrunn with the zoo) were in the house of music, at the opera, went to Salzburg and on two excursions.

TOURS. Taken at the hotel, the cost is 306 euros for three for 2 excursions. Picked up from the hotel.

SIGHTSEEING IN VIENNA (3 hours, all main attractions with a stop at the Hundertwasser house, ends in Schö nbrunn). It is convenient to take it from 9 in the morning, then at 12 you are in Schö nbrunn, you can stay there and devote the whole day to it. Guide-driver, minivan, there were 5 sightseers. In Schö nbrunn, we bought a Winter Pass (23 euros for adults, 12 for children from 6 to 18 years old). The entire Schö nbrunn is accessible through it (Grand Tour Palace, Zoo, greenhouse with palm trees, carriage museum, desert house) You can buy it at the carriage museum so as not to stand in line. By the way, on it to the palace, too, without a queue. Such a ticket is available from 3.11 to 31.3, in the summer there is a Gold pass (36 euros, the entire Schö nbrunn, including the strudel show, is valid for 1 year).

2nd row of balconies (center) for 57 euros / ticket. There were no others. I was very worried that we would not see anything. BUT! It was wonderful to see and hear, even binoculars were not useful. I found the libretto of the opera (Arabella Strauss) in Russian beforehand, so everything was clear. The building itself is very beautiful and compact inside. Everything is distributed very competently, each floor has its own wardrobe, it seems that the hall is full, and there are few people in the lobby. There is nothing to say about the performance - the highest class.

CONFECTIONERY DEMEL. Of course, we couldn't help but stop by and have a cup of Melange with the well-known cake. Inside it is nice, beautiful boxes, in the depths through a large glass you can see how some goodies are cooked.

SALZBURG. Wonderful town, interesting exposition in the castle. The Christmas tree decoration shop is a miracle, you just don't want to leave! A family ticket to the fortress (for all) cost 24 euros with a funicular.

They took the card at the station for free in German (In the "INFO" booth they asked for 16 euros for the card in Russian! ) Although there is no difference: at least in Japanese, the names are still written in German. From the railway station to go to the old town for about 20 minutes, it is also very easy to understand where. Train tickets were bought on the day of departure (214 euros for three round trips (2nd class, which I liked even more than 1 class (370 euros), the ticket is valid for 30 days). We boarded the Vienna-Munich train 8-20 and at 11.00 were in Salzburg (from Vienna 317 km), back at 17 with something also in Munich. The rest of the trains go with all stops for 1 hour longer. The train has a toilet, a restaurant and a steward with a cart walks around the cars, offers coffee, beer etc.

HEURIG. I really wanted to get to Gritsing and visit something away from the tourist trails. But there wasn't enough time.

Therefore, we found a tavern called Salm Brau (Rennweg, 8) vaguely reminiscent of HEIRIGE, not far from the Belvedere and tasted great ribs with local beer. (There is a menu in Russian)

SAUSAGES. We tried it in several places, but it seemed to be the most delicious in the stall behind the opera.

VIENNA-KART. Didn't buy. It took the subway 2 times (Schö nbrunn and train station), the rest is easily reachable on foot.

Well, the alignment: a / b - 26.000 rubles. , Hotel with breakfast 34.700, visas 5.100, total 65.800 = for three in 8 days.

Excursions: 306 euros, Salzburg 214 euros + tickets to museums.

The rest: food, shopping, souvenirs, transfers are very individual.
