Review of a trip to Austria.
We flew to Vienna in August 2010. I can say this about the hotel - the food was very good, the room was quite spacious. The only downside is the location, so I can't recommend it. It seems to be in the center of the Rathouse Park, but I would like to be closer to the main center. Since we only flew for 4 days, we used the services of an individual guide (by the way, not expensive) and did not regret it at all. The city itself is probably more interesting to explore on your own. I didn’t notice the bass of tourists (as in Barcelona, Rome, etc. ) there, the whole city can be bypassed in 1-2 days (I mean the old center and without visiting the palaces) Vienna is a city where you want to return again. In addition to walking around Vienna, I highly recommend going around the area. Our guide took us to Mount Rabs (somehow it is called), to lakes in the Alps, where we fished, to castles and waterfalls in the Alps, to the city of storks, to Baden. If I had written a review immediately after the trip, I would probably have described it in more detail and colorfully than now after 7 months. Most of all, I was delighted with excursions in the Alps and the city of storks. We were brought by a guide (at our request) to several winemakers where we were able to buy wine older than me. By the way, they didn’t take money from us for tasting, unlike, for example, an excursion to the suburbs of Rome (more on that separately). I'd like to write separately about the guide: We used the services of an individual guide in many countries and cities, but in Vienna there was the best guide. Eduard approaches his work with soul. And he met and saw off, and all the excursions were 1-2 hours longer than the originally announced time, and he didn’t even take an extra charge. We felt very comfortable with him, he didn’t overload us with information, and at the same time he told us very interestingly. We saw a lot of pictures, we would not have seen so much beauty on our own. We do not like to rent a car, and public transport does not go to some places.
I know from my own experience that when you are going to go to a city you haven’t been to yet, you want to ask someone interesting questions. So if anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
