Travel date August 2010

I am pleased to be the first to review this country – Bangladesh, Dhaka. A business trip is a business trip.

For a month, my wife and I tried to find reviews about this country. No reviews in the last 5 years! ? All that dug up is the need to do vaccinations and various other information about the country.

Made a complex of vaccinations and on the road. The fact that Bangladesh is not a tourist country is for sure, rather extreme, there is nothing to see - dirt, poverty and unsanitary conditions. Don't risk going there unless you really need it. You really need to think before you go.

But everything is in order.

1. Visa in Moscow (2 weeks), we did through Ankara (1 day).

2. Transport.

What we saw during our week in Dhaka is impossible to describe. Chaos and lack of culture. Everyone honks and the head is square during the day. See for yourself http://video. bigmir. net/show/70218/ and http://video. bigmir. net/show/46774/

Cycle rickshaws and tuk tuk taxis are in full chaotic motion. The police practically do not interfere in the movement of "transport".

The transport is so worn out and broken that it is not possible to establish the age.

3. Roads. The roads are narrow and there are clearly few of them. The roads are dirty and the sidewalks are littered with rubbish and waste. It is not possible to approach shops and buildings with garbage, pits and puddles. They only got out of the car to the office and the hotel.

4. Nutrition. All food is heavily fried on fries, a lot of pepper and not understandable to visitors. For tourists and visitors, a big problem is where to eat. The only place where we ate was a meager kitchen in a 4 * hotel. The cost of the room is $80 (salary in factories is $80-100 per month). A lot of vegetables and fruits, but the way everything is sold was very disdainful to eat them. 1 kg. mango $2 (150 takka). There is not much choice, food and cuisine is not tasty. The complete absence of dairy products, cheeses and simple cuisine, salads, cereals, etc. During the week of stay, they ate 2 times at the hotel, scrambled eggs for breakfast and rice for dinner. It's good that they took tea, coffee, cheese, sausage and Mivina with them.

5. People. Excuse me - these are not people!

Probably 50-60% of the country's population are animals. Complete lack of culture. They spit everywhere and crap (toilet) right on the street. Dirty, poor and hungry. It is impossible to drive or walk along the street. The beggarly beggars grab by the arms and by the legs, preventing them from passing. Since the bulk of the population lives, it is not possible to remember without a shudder. The "houses" they live in are sheds and boxes. I throw out the garbage near the sheds. Garbage bins all over the city. The smell is appropriate. These settlements are so littered with rubbish that scaffolds have been made for people to walk.

6. Tourism. Maybe there are places for tourism, we have not found. Next time (November-December), maybe we'll find something.

7. Industry. It seems very convenient for the leaders of the country to have such a working potential. The working class that lives in sheds and gets $3-4 a day. Factories and plants are large and, as I understand it, they are being built by the Chinese, Americans, etc.

Cheap labor. Lots of brick factories. Mountains of finished bricks, then women (mostly) sit on the ground and grind them into rubble with hammers for construction.

What else they do and what they produce, I don’t understand yet, but everyone is doing something! ? The vanity is incredible.

8. Customs. Be sure to declare more than $5.000 and be careful. , During the inspection and recalculation of money, we have early. customs post stole part of the amount. Found in the hotel during the recalculation. On the way back, they handed over the suitcase as luggage, upon arrival they found that the lock was broken in it and things were rummaged through. The air carrier promises compensation. And at the airport, packing a suitcase for Ducky, they don’t take dollars. Apparently it's easier to gut unpacked suitcases.

9. Hotels. We lived in the Bengal 4 * hotel. The cost of the room is $80. There are hotels and 250 per day.

Impressions are strong. My wife said she wouldn't go again. In 2 weeks we fly to an exhibition in Thailand. We hope the experience will be pleasant.
