Hotel ratings by criteria:
We went to Bulgaria for the first time. We chose this country as it is cheaper than in Turkey.

The hotel is not bad - a quiet, peaceful place, it is good to relax here with children. Friendly staff, speak a little Russian.
We arrived early - at six in the morning, we were lucky, our room was free and we were quickly settled.
The room is large in area - two rooms with a balcony and a bathroom. In one room there was a TV (32-inch screen), a small refrigerator (there was little that could fit in it and it was frankly weak), a small non-folding sofa and something like an unfolded folding chair. The second room is a bedroom, with a large bed and a mirror. For four people (three adults and one child) - the room was spacious enough. The room is clean and comfortable, but very modest.

From dishes - three cups, three glasses, two saucers, an electric kettle. There are no spoons and forks. There is also no mini bar, tea, coffee, a one and a half liter bottle of water every day (as it is written on the hotel website) in the room either. We asked at the reception for another cup, but there are still four of us, they promised us, but did not bring it. But they brought us another set of bed linen (at our request) and a cot, and we did not ask for a cot.
The room was cleaned, but without fanaticism. I even became interested. the maid cleans something in the room or not. It turned out to clean up - they left the beds unmade once - the maid made them up. During our stay, our towels were changed once.
Pluses of the hotel - clean, there are no cockroaches, no rats, there were not even flies and mosquitoes.
The food at the hotel is not bad at all, at least we did not remain hungry. The hotel has a swimming pool for adults and children, sun loungers and umbrellas around the pool. Of the attractions in Balchik, there is a botanical garden (ticket 8 lev) - I think it’s worth going on an excursion, and the palace of the Romanian queen in the same garden, I wasn’t in the palace - but it didn’t make an impression from the outside. I think that the queen could build something more decent.
In Balchik itself, the sea is not very good, on the embankment the exit to the sea is littered with boulders, you have to go down to the sea along iron stairs. which is inconvenient. But next to the city there is another resort - Albena. Go to Albena 20 minutes by bus, ticket price 2.5 leva. There is a good beach, the sea is clean but shallow near the coast, but there is an amusement park, the entire territory of the resort is well-groomed. From Albena you can get to another famous resort - Golden Sands, travel 2.5 leva. It is noisier on Golden Sands, there are more people, but the sea is deeper, more wave on which it is so pleasant to swing. I liked Golden Sands better.
The weather was good all the time, sunny. The temperature was over 30 degrees during the day. the water in the sea is warm - about 25-26 degrees.
The disadvantages of the hotel itself - weak WIFI, not a very diverse menu in the dining room.
Cons of the Balchik resort - a bad beach.
Bulgarians are friendly people, many know Russian, so you can always find a common language with them.
Conclusion: holidays in Bulgaria are a good alternative to more expensive resorts in Turkey and Egypt.
