Rested in Bulgaria July-August-11 nights. We took vouchers in St. Petersburg from Biblio-Globus.
We didn’t even expect that such a decent 2 * hotel would come across on last-minute trips. I liked everything, although we are not whimsical, but we also took vouchers not at all expensive. Before that, they were in Greece 2 times and in Cyprus in 4 * and 3 *. New building (there are only 2 of them, one of the parents, the other of the daughter), decent furniture, double-glazed windows, a balcony with furniture overlooking a quiet courtyard with a cherry tree, where you can sit calmly in the evening with a glass of wine. . . birds singing in the morning, the chirping of crickets in the evening, starry nights. . . quite quiet, which is not unimportant for someone who loves a quiet holiday, without the noise and roar of music in the evenings.
Cleaning daily, change of linen-2 times in 11 nights, kettle, iron on the shared floor around the clock, refrigerator, TV in the room, no air conditioning, but it was not stuffy at all (the balcony was opened at night). A safe in a family hotel is not needed, all things can be safely stored in the room. There were almost no mosquitoes. It takes 10-15 minutes to the sea through a field with willows along the path, even closer than many other hotels in the center of Kranevo.

The beach is nice, sandy, quite clean, water without algae, especially for families with children. True, some small insects floated in the water for several days, probably larvae from a river flowing into the sea.
They ate on their own. Greek-type salad was made every day (tomatoes, peppers, cheese, olives, apples, herbs seasoned with olive oil), cold cuts, grilled chicken purchased (9-12 leva, sausage, kiselomlyako (curdled milk) and sandwiches for breakfast, always had dinner with wine, which is not expensive here. True, they also brought some food with them, because we went for the first time without food, it turned out that not everything was so scary, they didn’t die of hunger (but keep in mind that when I arrive in Bulgaria at the airport, food ( meat and dairy, as well as with a cocoa content of more than 5%) are subject to confiscation, the customs checks during inspection. They confiscated stew from us, they didn’t notice anything else (cheese, pate, chocolate). Pulkovo.
We went on our own to Varna (stop in the center of Kranevo) and Balchik (stop on the highway at the end of the street) on minibuses (4 and 3 leva respectively). Not far (40 and 20 min. ) and convenient, I liked it.
In Varna, they exchanged currency at a bank more profitably, looked at the old center, the old Cathedral in the center, a park, a beach, then went to the local market for groceries, mostly fruits and vegetables, and left back.
In Balchik, we went to the botanical garden with the Palace and the cactus garden, the largest in Europe, we expected more to be honest, not at all big... , the entrance is 8 euros, the garden is all made of transitions and bridges made of stones. But it was necessary to go, since we arrived, we liked the town itself, we went up to the observation deck, the view is very beautiful!
In Kranevo itself, we climbed to the observation deck at the exit from Kranevo to Varna, there, on the way, the unfinished Old Tower Hotel (OLD TOWER), where you can also take pictures. Also very beautiful views of the entire bay up to Balchik.
