We rested at the Marina Palace Hotel 4 *. In the city of Nessebar, Bulgaria in June-July 2007.
Hotel
Good location, first line, rooftop swimming pool with a beautiful view of the sea and the Old Town, marina, bar directly on the roof of the hotel. The peculiarity of the hotel is its elevators made of transparent plastic, the one that is located from the side of the sea, rising, allows you to admire the seascape. On the same side of the hotel there is an equipped pedestrian zone, along which vacationers walk towards the Old Town and back, there is another road from the side of the main entrance of the hotel.
Most of the rooms have side and direct sea views. On the one hand, the windows look at the neighboring modern hotel, on the other - at the Soviet times, a 2-storey small hotel with a small green area.

The hotel practically does not have its own territory, but this is not accepted in Bulgaria. We arrived at the hotel and were warmly welcomed, offered to leave things in a special room while we were waiting for check-in, we were placed within 40 minutes, we did not have to wait.
The rooms are spacious, there is a safe in the room for a fee (50 leva for 14 days of rent), daily cleaning, extraneous sounds from the corridor did not come. Balcony with side sea view. The furniture is modern, the plumbing is new, but there are also problems - poor waterproofing between floors, at times, water was dripping a little from the neighbors overhead - in the shower area.
Change of towels daily, bed linen - every three days. Left a tip for the maid.
Meals (we only took breakfast) are the usual - scrambled eggs, sausages, vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers), sliced u200bu200bsausage, cheese, muffins of 2 types, once there were pasta, mushrooms, cereals, muesli, milk, tea coffee. Service by waiters.
Beach
200-250 meters from the hotel. The sea is clean, the temperature is refreshing 22-23, the sunset is pleasant, there are small crabs that sometimes try to climb up you. There were also jellyfish of different sizes, they sting quite painfully, they are found not on the shore, but away from the shore - for those who like to swim.
The beach itself is large, equipped with umbrellas and sunbeds and divided by price categories. The price for a set - 1 umbrella, 2 sun loungers was 20 leva at first (the rate of 1 euro - 1.95 leva) amounted to 10 euros, and from 1.07 -30 leva. Neighboring rows of 15 leva, here the umbrellas are smaller and older. There is a toilet, but there is no shower on the beach, as is customary. After we found out that we need to go into the depths of the beach and there, having paid a little more money, you can realize your desire - inconvenient.

There is a bar on the beach with various drinks, ice cream began to be offered closer to July, although the beach was filled with people by 60-65 percent. Daily cleaning on the beach, garbage collection, wiping the sunbeds from the sand, there are no trash cans, but a woman walks with a bucket, you give the garbage yourself or she will come up and pick it up herself. Rescuers, if the yellow flag is raised (small sea disturbance), make sure that they do not enter the sea with mattresses. If you are not satisfied, you think that with such a wave you can swim with a mattress, then you are sent to a wild beach, which is located at the end of the beach about 900 meters.
Nutrition.
Before the trip, we read reviews about holidays in Nessebar, about food - there is a clear trend towards higher food prices. Lunch for two - salad, soup, beer or juice, main course, fish was sometimes preferred to meat - cost from 30 to 50 leva if meat was ordered. I do not advise ordering a barbecue, a steak, because meat is BOILED before browning.
Grilled chicken, lamb dishes correspond to our ideas, but the portions are quite small. I had to look for places where decently fed.
Not far from the hotel there is a cafe "Victoria" - I do not advise, poisoning is guaranteed, "soups" sin there, so don't go there!
The hotel itself has a restaurant, they feed very well, we liked it.
Self rest
Apart from the poisoning, the rest was a success. There is also a place to take a walk in the evening, carousels for children, playgrounds. Bathed, rested, relaxed. We were on excursions - a walk on the sea, in Varna in the dolphinarium (for an amateur), we wanted to go to a Bulgarian village, but it didn’t work out, and then we found out that we hadn’t lost anything.
Excursions were booked at the agency opposite the hotel on the left, because. the representative of the meeting party had the time for meetings in the morning, when you are on the beach. Prices are almost the same (+ -) 5 leva.
Nessebar is conducive to a relaxing holiday, and for those who want an incendiary holiday, Sunny Beach is recommended.
