And in the Riviera, a strict entrance and an expensive beach for strangers. For yours, everything is free. Sea view rooms. We ordered a standard, but we lived in a two-room apartment with two toilets (a bathroom with an area of more than 13 sq. M). Swimming pool with mineral water. The contingent is calm (mothers from Russia or old stiff Germans). Honestly, I left in tears! The only negative: if you take breakfast, then you have to walk into the city. and the local restaurants are expensive.

The cost of dinner "from the nose" 29 leva. You can go to Golden Sands and have dinner there. We did it with a tip of about 50-55 (for two + a child). Basically, the rest is intended for couples with children and the elderly who cannot stand the noise. A real complete rest: a clean beach, a good entrance to the sea, a hydrogen sulfide mineral shower on the beach, a green area with benches and flowers. Quiet in the evening. calmly - people walk, sit, rest. Animation, mainly in the hotel Riviera. You can have fun in Golden Sands. There is a crazy house mixed with the Cherkizovsky market. To the golden sands - 10-15 minutes. on foot. (You can bypass, you can through the hole, which is next to the NIMFA hotel - faster). We had dinner at a Bulgarian restaurant. We liked it there most of all (it is called, in my opinion, GERANA). Warning: there are many exchangers, but not all are honest. Some write a course and a commission of 0%, and some write a course of 1.95, and give 1.55 in their hands. Do not sign the papers that they give before you read the amount in your hands there or ask how much in your hands. Where there is 1.9, it is more real that you will get 1.9. In Varna, the exchange rate of both the euro and the dollar is higher. Hold your bags and money tight, especially at public transport stops. Theft is rampant there. In a taxi, you can even negotiate for 4 leva "from the nose" to Varna, if 6 people are recruited. There are small drawbacks: small rooms (to put the child a cot, I had to remove one bedside table. They are not cleaned well. I recommend taking shower gels and shampoos with you or buying them there (I didn’t like it). We didn’t put spare maids. although they were also used. Internet only works on the 1st floor. If you are bringing a computer, take a wire with a telephone connection or ask them, they give it (for free). You can also take a small kettle or a kettle. and do not drink. At the stop at the entrance to the Riviera, water is sold 6 liters - 3 leva.

This hotel has its own rules against the interests of tourists - very "economical"

I want to share my impressions of a recent holiday in Bulgaria.

1. Place of rest - Bulgaria, 17 km from Varna, Riviera club, Lotos hotel (4 stars). . Double room on the ground floor (all rooms with sea view), buffet breakfast.
2. Rest period - from 20.06. 08 to 18.07. 08 (4 weeks).
3. Organization of recreation - a Kyiv travel agency (was engaged in processing documents for a visa, air tickets, medical insurance, transfer from the airport to the hotel and back, provided a guide-curator in Bulgaria on issues arising on the spot).
4. Team of vacationers. Mom and daughter on GV (9 months). After arriving from the resort, we celebrated 10 months
5. Road to the sea. Flight, acclimatization and other little things.

We had little misunderstandings at the border.
Our customs officers did not want to let my mother and daughter out - since the original of the father's notarized permission was given to the travel agency and not returned, my mother made a copy and naively believed that this was enough at the border - as a result, our plane was delayed because of us for half an hour - the customs officers did not want to skip, probably waiting for "thanks". Advice - you need to have with you only the original notarized permission from the parent. The flight time is about 1.5 hours, i. e. if you want to visit the ladies' room, it's better to do it at the airport. Believe me, going to the toilet on an airplane - holding a child and taking a bag with you (with valuables and children's necessary things) - is not so convenient. The daughter was awake the whole flight - and when she had to go out - she fell asleep. Advice - DO NOT HURRY ANYWHERE - the main thing is to check in on time, get a boarding pass - continue to enjoy the flight and communication with the child.
All the fuss about loading the stroller into the cabin of the aircraft (we remove the cradle and the landing gear folds), landing - getting off the bus, going up and down the ladder - our people usually break forward and are afraid not to be in time - I just missed everyone and in the end I was all they were waiting - on the bus, on the plane, the aircraft personnel also "froze" about loading - you, dear mothers, should not worry about these little things - relax and have fun - after all, you are going to a resort, to the sea! ! !
Before the trip to Bulgaria, we already had 7 months of air travel experience - 5.5 hours with a transfer Kyiv-Amsterdam-Barcelona. Takeoff - landing (daughter received a breast), so that the ears do not lay. True, then it was a little easier for us - there were still the hands of my husband and we were only at the GV. Arrived in Varna, the guide meets (immediately take his contact number !!! ), from there we were taken by taxi (we got an individual transfer) to the hotel.
The driver was talkative, offered to immediately buy a chip card from a local mobile operator in Varna - and a starting voucher for a minimum amount of time, they changed euros to leva. The exchange rate was approximately 1 euro = 2 leva. There was no acclimatization in Bulgaria as such (at least, if it was, it went unnoticed) - my mother was reinsured and did not swim for 1 day.
6. Nutrition.

If you are fans of fish, feta cheese, wine and far from small portions, then a holiday in Bulgaria is what you need!
We only paid for breakfast (despite my insistent requests to the travel agency to provide us with dinner as well - they rejected it, although after talking with local vacationers at our hotel - it was not difficult for the travel agency to organize dinner for us. (Some travel agencies even offered lunch ).
But, Bulgarians do business in this case too - you can pay for dinner at the "black box office" of the restaurant - regardless of the amount eaten and drunk (tea and other drinks - for an additional fee at dinner) - 28 lev (this is 14 euros). Although if you take into account the 28-day stay - the breakfast buffet is already boring at 3 weeks. I imagine if we also ate the same dinner buffet all the time. Although it must be said that the Bulgarians are trying - every Thursday they arrange Bulgarian cuisine with red tablecloths. This evening they serve brandy and special bread, Bulgarian music sounds, and the dishes are full of national delights, the emphasis on vegetables is clearly visible.

Breakfast from 7.30 to 10.00. The restaurant is three stars. And God forbid you come at 10 - the first thing they do is remove the thermos with hot water, cups and hide the coffee machines with a cape. If you ask for boiling water at the beginning of 11 am - then you will be reprimanded with the words - everything is no longer allowed.
It bothered me a little (you just feel like in the Gestapo, once we got caught - but we were content with cold drinking water).

My daughter kept me company in silence at breakfast - she talked while sitting in a stroller with older children and with the staff. Sometimes I gave her a crust to slobber, pasta (pre-soaked the oil with napkins) and some water (compote). The fact is that we are still at odds with the EC about dairy products. We are terribly pouring on both kefir and cottage cheese (to the point of vomiting). Therefore, we have a taboo on dairy products (I think up to a year). In Bulgaria (they say that only here) for children and not only (unfortunately, not for us) there is a fermented milk product - sour milk. It contains a very useful unique kefir stick. It tastes like thick kefir. I took this bryndza every morning for breakfast.

Anyutka ate porridge at lunchtime after the sea. I took with me 3 cereals (Baby), made in Slovenia.
I also brought a thermos and dried fruits for compote from home. I also took a teapot-minute, which lived for 1.5 weeks and died. The guide got me a new electric kettle (non-disk) at the reception. By the way, you can order water delivery to your room at the reception. At lunch, I finished my daughter's porridge and ate fruit. Already after lunchtime sleep (around 6-7 pm) we went to a restaurant - I often ordered something fish or meat for myself, and asked my daughter to grind on a blender or chicken soup or fish soup). Moreover, they did not immediately understand what a blender is - for the Bulgarians the word is more understandable - "pass". We often went to a fish restaurant with a baby - we liked the waiters and the atmosphere is not intrusive + the sound of the waves + the playground nearby. We ate - and on the playground with the children to get acquainted and play. And so on until 9-10 pm.

Parents are encouraged to try the shark. (Unless, of course, there is no intolerance to this product).

My daughter has gained about 1 kg this month.
At other times, we gained less - an average of 500-600g per month.

7. Daily routine.

I do not like these words on vacation. But with Manyunka, you have to adapt to her sleep-wake schedule. And also not to be in the sun from 12 to 16.
We usually had the first rise somewhere at 7-8 o'clock. Then the morning toilet, breakfast (until 9.30-10.00), sleep (not always - she asked Anyuta to sleep on the beach), beach, lunch, sleep with sis, walks (in the park or 2nd exit to the beach), going to the city for shopping , dinner, entertainment, sleep, watching Russian channels without a daughter (movies, news, entertainment programs).

8. Walking, bathing.

On the protected territory of the hotel there is a park shady area - it's great to walk with the crumbs when they sleep and get ready for bed. We liked the bench from where the view of the sea opened - so we slept under the pine tree and inhaled the aroma of the sea breeze at the same time.
We loved to swim in the sea.
Almost every day - swam, dived, jumped on my mother's back in the sea. The first days, my mother went to the beach with a stroller. The rescue boys helped carry the stroller to the sunbeds with an umbrella. Then it became more convenient for me to put the baby in an ergo baby (kangaroo) and go to the beach with a bag of things. I bought a pool for my daughter - to be honest, we flopped there for 3-4 days. If a child bathes in the sea, this is an unnecessary thing. Be careful with the sun! ! ! The baby and I all the time sunbathed only under an umbrella - it lets the rays through, so after 12 it’s still better not to risk it and stomp into the hotel or into the shade under the tree. Or wrap a sleeping child in a diaper on a sunbed (cover). When we went to the city in the heat, we used sunscreen - our daughter had a factor of 50.

Before going to bed, if mother and daughter still had strength, they swam in the bath in the room. The bath is not deep, my daughter is up to her thigh - as it was supposed to dive, it didn’t quite work out.
But, this shortcoming was compensated by diving into the sea. The water was from 19 to 24 degrees somewhere. The sea is always different. Now calm, now a storm, now the purest, now with algae and small particles of jellyfish. The air temperature was from 25 in the morning to 34 in the afternoon. We slept with an open balcony - humidity from 50 to 80.

9. Medical assistance.

On the very first day - my daughter fell out of bed and about 10 minutes later she fell again but already in the bathroom on the tiles (the first 5 drops of blood) - the cry was unbearable (which is not at all typical for my relatively calm daughter), and my mother called to your doctor's head. I didn’t have a guide’s phone number yet and I had to call a doctor through the reception. The doctor came, whistled to my daughter, made a compress of alcohol and stuck a band-aid on her forehead and hairs. Said to put ice. And for all these procedures I wished 80 lev (40 euros). And most likely I will not be reimbursed for this money as insurance.
Despite the fact that since January 1.2007 Bulgaria has been in the European Union, the currency is still the lev. 1 euro is about 2 leva. Peaches, plums, nectarines, bananas about 5-6 lev per kg. Juices are somehow not very popular with them, judging by the supermarkets and breakfast - there are drinks all around. For breakfast - drinks of their apparatus are simply terrible in taste - it is better not to poison yourself.
Pampers were bought in a pharmacy - the prices are cheaper than in the market, the assortment is small, the goods are replenished on average 1 time in 3 days. Do not even think about seeing an economical pack of diapers on sale - you only need to go to Varna for this. Maximum quantity - 20 pieces and with non-stretch elastic band. From dry cereals - only Humana, from jars - Nestle (in markets). So it's better, of course, to take cereal and food with you.

From souvenirs you can buy magnets (if you and your loved ones are not tired of them yet), ceramics. What is in abundance here are T-shirts, flip flops, hats, beach bags. And rose products - water, lotions, creams, shampoos.
(in general, everything for the ladies). With men it is more difficult in terms of presentations. Probably alcohol is the best option. But a single mother (which I was) must weigh her strength herself - based on the weight of the suitcases. From alcohol, you can bring mastic (aniseed vodka), rakia (you need to figure out which one).

11. Entertainment.

The animation program is very well thought out. They play bocha on the beach, do morning exercises (I had it under the windows), play ball games. Evening children's disco. The baby was happy to dance in my arms to the beat of the groovy music. There is a playground with swings and slides. There are 2 swimming pools on the territory of the hotel, one of them is smaller for children. But we didn't go there because we swam in the sea. Also for tennis lovers there are courts with a unique surface, you can play for a fee. You can also pamper yourself and take a course of massages, spa treatments for women and men.
They also offer an extensive program of excursions.

It should be noted that the public who come here - have been here more than once - I met Muscovites who have already come here 9 (! ) times and for 2.5 months. But in my opinion, this is overkill. Although I have not seen a better place for children to rest. So I recommend!

In the morning we ate at the hotel, in the afternoon - when where. The food is normal, nothing different from the Riviera Beach.
Restaurants used in the Riviera by everyone, everywhere tasty and inexpensive. For a change, we went to Golden Sands.
In the pools on the Riviera, the water is mineral, not chlorinated, which, given the love of children for pools, is important. ))
In general, we were once again convinced that for a long vacation at sea with kids, you can’t imagine anything better than the Riviera. In terms of price-quality ratio, in the absence of a language barrier in the case of grandmothers staying with children, in terms of climate, etc.
It’s a pity only this year the Black Sea was polluted with fuel oil...
