For a family holiday, I chose an apart-hotel for 4 adults (children 18 and 19 years old), the choice was urgent and hasty, 4 days before departure, we agreed to an offer from the category of "more or less". Yes, I read the negative reviews about the hotel - and I was mentally prepared for the neighborhood of noisy Dutch stoned students, and for old furniture, and for poor plumbing, and for the already well-known "dirty and smelly" curtain in the bathroom... And these "charms "We received the full program . . (But rubber gloves, disinfectants, a floor rag, rope and clothespins - this was my "gentleman's" set). But what awaited us is beyond reasonable. The first call was a warning when checking in from the lady manager "you check if everything is in order. " It turned out that there were lists with available utensils, appliances, number of blankets, pillows, towels, etc. in the room.
OK, childhood passed in pioneer camps, "we know, we swam. " They quickly counted the spoons and glasses, checked out the dirty, shabby walls and furnishings, grimaced at the sagging mattress and shabby towels. The kettle was also leaking, dripping from the pipes in the toilet on the boiler...
We realized that European youth "buzzes" in these apartments regularly and on a grand scale, and there has not been a smell of repairs since the day it was founded in 2006. But this did not stop us from enjoying the sea and the sun. And 3 days before departure, the cleaning lady unfolded the corner folds of the wretched, battered curtains - tulle, grown old in the southern sun - and showed us a hole. Apparently, the time has come to find it.

First, the administrator guy came running, then the manager - well, of course, they claimed that we were to blame for the "damage" of the property. And this worn "fart" was estimated at the reception at 260 US dollars.
At first we smiled and did not take the claims seriously, but when a representative from the travel agency was involved in the negotiations, they, together with the manager, began to actively press me, I realized that I was a figure in a long-established scenario. They offered a "compromise" - not to swim and sunbathe the remaining 3 days of rest, but to make a march through the shops and ateliers and, bloody from the nose, purchase a similar, but ALWAYS NEW fart-curtain.

Even if at the beginning of the showdown I had some impulse to leave money "for the residual value after many years of wear and tear" (let it be called that), then after the threats it disappeared. Spoiled mood. . . And it's not about my human greed (this tour was not cheap at all) - but how can you not respect the client, the guest, "giving a hand". . . after all, we, tourists, feed them. . .
And finally, about the good - "ray of light" - a restaurant in the hotel. We bought half board: breakfast is modest, but dinner is quite decent, grilled dishes are especially delicious. Kudos to the chef and waiters. I liked that it was not a buffet but made to order. A lot of visitors come to the restaurant from outside. . .
Gentlemen, tourists, if you are going to Sunny Beach - find another hotel to check in, and go to Severina for lunch or dinner...

P. S. and one more thing about car rental. The scenario is similar. We met a couple from Moscow and during the conversation it turned out that they rented a car for 2 days, left a deposit of 500 euros and drove off . . (similarly - well, a used car, serviceable, what else do you need? ) suddenly began to count all the perennial scuffs, strokes and scratches on the hood. Why return the deposit - let these rich sweet Russians pay...
