I had a chance to visit the glorious city of Sozopol this June.
I went through the tour operator ICS-group. Sky-express flew from Vnukovo. At the airport we were met by a minibus of the host side Alma-Tour, which took us to Sozopol in 40 minutes.
Hotel Koral pleased: convenient location in the new city, proximity to the central beach, which is less than a hundred meters away.
The hotel itself is located on the shore, on a rock, so you can’t go down to the sea directly from it. But on the veranda overlooking the sea, there are free sunbeds where you can sunbathe. 7 minutes from the hotel there is another Harmonite beach.
Be careful when booking a hotel, because. "Koralov 3*" in Sozopol as many as three! One of our "corals" on Lazuren Bryag street, the other at the devil's horns in the Budjaka beach area, the third could not be found, they say he is somewhere in the old city.

The hotel is designed for 160 people. Vacationers are mostly Norwegians, Swedes, Danes of middle and old age. Many Bulgarians come for the weekend.
The hotel staff is friendly, only one girl at the reception spoke Russian well, the rest speak English, they understand Russian poorly. The hotel itself is obviously not new, but the rooms are clean and pleasant. The furniture is new. The rooms are bright in beige and green tones, in my opinion quite spacious. The room has a wardrobe, 2 double beds, 2 bedside tables, a small sofa bed, a table with a mirror and a TV. Showed 4 Russian channels, my mother watched with pleasure.
Instead of a shower, a bathtub, which is nice. There is a refrigerator in the room, but it is not clear how to use it. it only works when the key card is in the electricity slot, i. e. When you leave the room, the refrigerator does not work.
We had a view of the street, they didn’t change it, because. view is pleasant. The only drawback was that in the morning you could hear the car picking up the garbage, because. slept with an open balcony. The room is equipped with air conditioning, but we did not use it, because there was no heat.
There are only 2 glasses of dishes in the room. There is simply nowhere to put the purchased fruits.
An iron and ironing board can be borrowed from reception and ironed in the room.
The hotel has an indoor swimming pool and a gym. The water in the pool is 17 degrees, it is not heated, so having plunged into it once, I did not use it again. Didn't work out in the gym.
There is a bar next to the reception, the prices are normal. There is a lobby bar on the 4th floor, but at the time when we were there it was not working.
The restaurant in Koral does not belong directly to the hotel, but is rented by several Bulgarians. The breakfasts are meager and monotonous, on the first day they didn’t like the food at all, then they began to feed better. The restaurant has a terrace with a picturesque view of the old town and the central beach.

At the same time, the cuisine, if ordered, is delicious and not more expensive than in the city. We took fish, salads, kawarma, we were satisfied.
We dined in the city at the Ribna Sreshcha cafe, not far from the old city. There prices are slightly lower than in other places. The order is delivered immediately. On average, lunch cost us about 15-20 levs (about 400 rubles). There are very tasty soups, awesome cutlets with salad (kyufteta).
Nearby is the bar "Karibi", where they often drank cocktails (the price of a mojito is around 120 rubles, I liked the cuisine in the restaurant "Sveti Nikola", which is located next to the square in the old town.
We have never been to the Mekhana and the Old Mill restaurants, so I can’t say anything about them.
The city itself is small, consists of an old and a new part. The old part is notable for its old houses, narrow streets, the fortress wall, which overlooks the sea and is beautifully illuminated at night. There are several museums in the old part that are worth visiting. There is also an art gallery of Sozopol artists, you should go there only as a support for the artists of Sozopol, because. the impression from the visit is very sad: a wretched 2-storey building, with gloomy paintings deformed from dampness, without any digression.
The new part consists of many small hotels and guest houses, which were mostly empty at that time, because. the season was just beginning. The Budjaka beach area (20 minutes walk from the hotel) was completely unpopulated. Before the trip, we chose between 2 hotels "Apolis", which is located just in the Budjaka area, and "Koral", so we were glad that we chose the "Koral", which was located in the center of life.
Hotels in the city 2-3 *, the only 4 * Villa List, probably the most expensive hotel in the city. The nearest 5 * Duni is 8 km from the city.
During the day, the city lives a leisurely life, tourists walk along the streets, young artists paint the old city.

In the evening, there are much fewer people on the streets. There are 3 clubs in the new part of the city: City, Mojito and Harem (approx. 10 minutes from the hotel. At that time they were already working, but there were no people yet. The most visited was the City, many people came there on weekends The music there is only Bulgarian, similar to Turkish. The design of the club is interesting - there are biblical scenes on the walls.
Having been there once, I never went again. Maybe it's more fun in high season.
In 5 minutes from the hotel there is a good dive center "Aqua-Sub". I am a diver, so I chose Sozopol also as a place for diving. The best diving in Bulgaria in Sozopol. The dive center has wonderful instructors Simeon Gatev (INTD instructor) and Dimo Dzhapunov (PADI instructor, they speak excellent Russian. The prices are moderate. The equipment is new, it is possible to both dive from the boat and from the shore. The sea is much cleaner than in Novorossiysk . Saw seahorses(! ), which is rare in the Black Sea.
I almost forgot, the host was Alma-Tour. They worked perfectly, there were no complaints about the transfer, attentive attitude towards customers. The company representative Dimmi told a lot about the history of the country, unobtrusively recommended excursions, gave valuable recommendations on recreation. She called to find out how we were doing, if everything was okay.
There are many excursions offered, but they were only on one in Plovdiv and the Bachkovo Monastery, they were satisfied.
The overall impression of the trip is the most positive! Reasonable prices, excellent service, friendly people. It is incomparable with our Black Sea coast - both cheaper and better (a trip for a week with a flight and a visa plus breakfast for one cost 17 tyr. , if we had flown from Domodedovo, it would have cost another 3 tyr cheaper! ) Definitely worth the trip. I hope to be back here!
Have a wonderful holiday everyone!
