The day before yesterday we arrived from Sozopol, and since the reviews helped a lot with choosing a place to stay (thanks to everyone who writes), I also hasten to write a review based on fresh impressions. I must say right away that they were not mistaken with the choice, Sozopol is a miracle, I want to return there. Sozopol has everything you want to get from a trip - the sea, and cultural impressions, and romance, and culinary impressions, and history, and the special atmosphere of the old city, indescribable by any photographs, which we just fell in love with. Who wants in Bulgaria not just to lie on the beach and eat food - you are in Sozopol. Now in order:

TOUR OPERATOR:

Tour operator TUI Ukraine (Kyiv), everything was fine, met, brought, the guide gave out all the information, offered excursions, informed the time of departure, picked up and taken without problems, everything is fine, except for one BUT - when the tour was ordered, it was indicated that the arrival airport was Burgas ( which is logical, since it is 40 minutes from Sozopol), but at the last moment we found out that we were flying to Varna. And on the way back, I also had to fly from Varna. Look at the map and you will understand everything. Of course, against the backdrop of a wonderful holiday, this is no longer important, but the sediment, as they say, remained.
The tour was from Tui, but we arranged it through the agency "Let's go with us", I liked everything.

HOTEL:

The hotel is excellent in its category. Friendly hosts (this is a family), they know Russian, they go to a meeting in everything, they help, it was just a pleasure to talk, very good people. According to the conditions - there is everything you need, I will not describe because everything is in the descriptions of the hotel and everything is true.
We lived in room 403a on the 4th floor - a great view from the balcony - the tiled roofs of the town, the sea, the hills, beauty in general. Cleaning at will - if you want to be cleaned - you leave the key, if you don't want it - you don't leave it. The hotel is very calm, quiet, no one interferes with anyone, everything is clean, new. Very good location - close to everything. To Harmani beach - literally 2 minutes, a half-minute walk a couple of small shops, 5-7 minutes - more shops. To the main tourist streets of the new city, where all the trade, restaurants, etc. - 5 minutes, a couple of blocks in the other direction - and you are already in the Old City, that is, the hotel is on the border of the old and new parts, it is very convenient . Bank and tour desks nearby. At the same time, the street itself is quiet, nothing interferes with rest. In general, the hotel has no complaints, I liked everything.

SEA BEACH:

I was only on Harmani beach, so I will write only about it. The sea is different at different times of the day.

We went to the beach early, from 6 to 10 in the morning and the sea was super - calm, clean, not shaken yet, beauty. In general, the sooner the better. The sea is different not only at different times of the day, but also on different parts of the beach. On the edge, where the free zone without umbrellas is algae, you can swim, but when it's already shaken up, it's unpleasant. But it’s worth going a little further, to the central part of the beach - a clean bottom without algae, when there are no people, the water is so clear that you can see every grain of sand at the bottom, just beauty. So walk along the beach and find the place where the sea is better.
The beach is municipal, an umbrella costs 6 leva, a sun lounger is also 6, this is the price for the whole day, it is impossible for half a day. In addition, there is enough space to put your umbrella and lie just like that, without payment, there is no problem with this.

CITY:

New Sozopol - 2-3-storey houses, mini-hotels, under tiled roofs, colorful, beautifully decorated with flowers - very nice.
But the main thing is the Old City - the ancient Greek part, no matter how much you tell, it's not that. A special atmosphere, interesting old houses, beautiful landscaping of facades, cozy streets lined with paving stones, you have to go around every corner, you want to photograph every step. Try, among other things, be sure to walk around the old city very early in the morning, when there are still no people and trade, and late in the evening, when the old streets become especially mysterious (by the way, it’s very calm there and it’s not scary to walk at all). Walk around the city not only along those few streets where the main tourist traffic is, but along all the back streets, and maybe you will fall in love with it just as we fell in love. The inhabitants of Sozopol are very friendly, they will tell you everything, they will help, there is almost no language barrier, a very warm attitude towards visitors.

NUTRITION:

We took the hotel on purpose without food, which we never regretted.

There are so many delicious things around! : ) A sea of cafes and restaurants of different levels and for different budgets, huge portions (almost everything can be safely taken 1 portion for two), full of points with delicious pastries, ice cream, frapé , palanichki (pancakes), etc. In stores you can buy both familiar to us products, and typical Bulgarian ones: sirene (brynza, very tasty) and kashkaval (also their main cheese), delicious raw smoked sausages (lukanka, sujuk, babek, uncle, cudweed), kissele mlyako (yogurt, very tasty, take that , which has a higher fat content), lutenitsa (a sauce of baked peppers, tomatoes, etc. , sold in jars, many variations), Bulgarian delight, etc. Prices are normal. In the new city (near the Harmani beach) the biggest stores are the supermarket on Odesa street, and the Bolero store (on Republican street).

Almost all restaurants offer a 3-course set lunch (soup, main course and dessert) during the day, it costs 5-6 leva.
And of course, in all restaurants you can order something of your choice from the menu.

I can recommend a couple of my favorite places. In the new city, on the "fun" street (which runs along the Harmani beach), I really liked the restaurants Mekhanata and Shatrit (Sarbska Skara) - these are two restaurants of the same office, they are connected. There, be sure to order any meat on the scara (on the grill), there you can directly see this grill and grill from the street. And for the meat, be sure to have greenfinch on skara (vegetables on the grill) and definitely pyrlenka (regular or with garlic) - pyrlenka is such a big flatbread baked on fire, we tried it in different restaurants, but here it was the most delicious, only for the sake of pyrlenka it was worth returning there : )

A special article - Midi on a scoop (mussels in shells), who have not tried - believe me - mussels from the freezing department in the supermarkets of our cities and the freshest mussels from the sea are not the same thing.

There they are almost everywhere, but of course the view of the sea adds an additional taste to mussels : ) we got a special love with the Tangra restaurant in the Old Town, st. Sea cliffs, 25, absolutely beautiful place. Fans of glamor and pathos do not come here, but those who are looking for romance will like it. A restaurant on a rock just above the sea, you can’t even see the shore below, a view of the island with a lighthouse, a tavern-style restaurant, not licked, simple, very homely, as if you go to visit where you are very often and where you are loved, you feel very relaxed. The main thing is to sit by the window, especially in the evening, when the sun sets, the window is open, the sea is splashing, the air is so...You take a mussel, open it, drip a drop of oil (it is on every table), salt, a drop of lemon juice...in general, life successful))) The portion of mussels is large, enough for 2 people, it costs 9-10 leva, if you have another glass of wine (take Chardonnay), you get 18-19 leva for two.
Another restaurant from Sea Rocks Street, 27a - "Windmill" - here the interior is in ethnic style, the atmosphere is different, they ate delicious meat from the grill, but the main thing is that on Saturday the folklore program starts at 21:00 and lasts 45 minutes , you need to come a little earlier - because then there will be no places. The guys dance Bulgarian dances (this is a separate love, look at different Bulgarian choros on youtube in advance and you will understand everything), they sing songs, and at the end the dancers call the audience to dance in such a choro, they show very simple movements for one or two, and when you grab and hold everything dancing by the hand is a special thrill. It helped us a lot the next day in the village of Bata, we already knew the movements and lit there perfectly in this horo at the end of the disco : )

In general, on this street of the Sea Rocks, all the restaurants are just as wonderful - they all have very interesting interiors, in the style of a tavern or ethnic, all with a view of the sea, there is beauty in general.
Yes, the prices are a little higher, but it's better to save on some nonsense, or eat less, but with pleasure.

I liked the Aloha bar on a small beach opposite the Villa List and Selena hotels - a bar on the beach itself, one counter almost by the water, and in the evening it’s just wonderful to sit behind this counter, looking at the night sea and a very beautifully illuminated shore Old city.

SHOPPING:

There are plenty of beach goodies (swimsuits, pareos, umbrellas, flip flops, etc. ) on the main tourist streets of the New City, and there are also in the old city. There are also a lot of shops with cosmetics, clothes, souvenirs, etc. In the Old Town, as a rule, prices are slightly higher, so do not rush to buy the first one that comes across, take a closer look at the options.

You can go shopping in Burgas (about 40 minutes on a regular bus that leaves Sozopol every hour it seems (stop at the beginning of the old town, not far from the amphitheater (which is opposite the Church of Cyril and Methodius), the cost is 4.5 leva one way. In Burgas, it’s not far from the bus stop, Aleksandrovskaya Street, where all the shops are concentrated. Or you can take a bus nearby and get to Mall Galleria Byrgas (look at their website how to get there and what is there), there is a huge shopping center, you can do a lot of shopping. There is also a large grocery supermarket on the 1st floor, you can buy groceries and snacks for your homestay such as those not found in Sozopol stores. because in this Mall Gallery you can spend the whole day and not notice : )

GIFTS AND GIVING HOME:
For girls, of course, cosmetics with rose oil and rose water are Bulgarian chips. Buy "Refan" cosmetics (by the way, in Burgas on Alexandrovskaya and in the Mall Gallery there are Refan branded stores), also BioFresh and Karlovo.

Boys - alcohol (Rakia, Mastic).

Sweets - smoked sausages (lukanka, sujuk, babek, uncle, cudweed), brynza and kashkaval cheeses in vacuum packaging perfectly endured the way home.

Beautiful ceramic dishes, textiles.

SPECIAL POINT FOR ORTHODOX:

On Sunday morning, go to the service at the Church of Cyril and Methodius at around 8:30 am (this is at the beginning of the old city, on the square next to the excavations, opposite the summer stage (amphitheater). An unforgettable feeling to attend a service in another country, and to understand at the same time that it is all the same, dear, together with the Bulgarians to read the Our Father (by the way, in Russian) - it was just some kind of special feeling.
In this church there are the relics of John the Baptist, which are considered healing. In general, there are many chapels in Sozopol where you can pray and put candles, and there is also an old, very beautiful Orthodox church inside, it seems to be called the Church of St. George, on one of the streets of the old city.

TOURS:

We went on an excursion to the Bulgarian village of Bata, we could write a lot, but there is a lot of information and impressions on the Internet about this, I will not repeat it. I will say briefly - it was a lot of fun))) Those who like to have fun, dance - I recommend it.

That's all. Everyone who travels to Sozopol - have a good rest!
