Had a fabulous rest. Rusalka Hotel
Had a fabulous rest!! ! My husband and I arrived in Sozopol. We started planning our trip at the end of May. We decided not to go on tour. agency and choose the city and hotel on the Internet. To begin with, we decided on important criteria for the hotel and the resort as a whole:
1) the resort should be with elements of local color (architecture);
2) the hotel MUST be on the very seashore and naturally a balcony overlooking the sea;
3) the room should have: air conditioning, bathroom, shower.
We started by reading various reviews and descriptions of resorts in Bulgaria, and settled on Sozopol. Then, miraculously, we landed on a website where we chose the Rusalka family hotel.Iamwritingawebsite:http://sozopol.com/sozopol_room_157. htm. It is very important that on the site we could set the criteria for selecting a hotel, apartment or apartment, see photos of rooms and views from the window, and most importantly, see the location of the hotel on the city map. Pay attention to the fact that there are hotels with the same name or a chic room, but a view of the garages or the road.
I booked a room via the Internet and, just in case, called the hostess back and confirmed our interest. Air tickets were bought for a charter flight Kyiv-Burgas-Kyiv. And then came the moment when we flew to Burgas! After going through passport control, picking up our luggage, we left the airport building. We did not see any bus flights directly to Sozopol, and in general we did not understand where the buses that stood in the parking lot were going. We decided to take a taxi. It cost us 90 leva (the average rate is 1 Euro=1.92 lev). Expensive, of course, but from the surging euphoria, we thought about how to see the sea as soon as possible, and not start bargaining with people who speak little or no Russian or English...
Expectations from the hotel were met in full: a small but clean room with a balcony, shower, air conditioning, mini fridge, TV, wardrobe, bedside tables, chest of drawers, a table and two chairs with a table on the balcony. And the most important thing is the sea view from the balcony! The price of the hotel included breakfast. A complete diet is not required. It was interesting for us to take a walk in the evening and visit different restaurants. On average, dinner or lunch cost us 25-40lv (without alcohol). Fruits were two times cheaper than in Kyiv. The best recommendation for a hotel when it is mostly foreigners. The "Mermaid" rested: the British, French, Germans and Bulgarians of the "respect" level. With the cleaning of the room and the regular replacement of bed linen, there were no problems at all. They didn't always sit at the reception, but for us it was not a problem at all. The only point: there are no safes in the rooms.
Tours I recommend:
1) to Istanbul and not less than 2 days, otherwise I don’t understand what you can see in time. Istanbul is very impressive. You will be offered several excursions around Istanbul for an additional fee (be sure to take it): a boat trip along the Bosphorus!! ! and in the evening a restaurant with belly dancing, national dances. You will have time to walk around the Grand Bazaar - the largest covered bazaar in Istanbul and the "cheapest". Don’t believe in the cheap one, prices are beaten there for both the Japanese, the British and the Americans, and they don’t like Russians and Ukrainians there because they are bargaining ! The sellers are still those cunning Malans... You can bargain and do not focus on prices at all. For example, a husband from trips brings souvenir saucers, plates with the name and image of a country or city on it. He liked one. The cost was indicated 30Euro! “What is Gerasim for??!......... ” When my husband and I turned around, he asked our cost, we named 15 Turkish liras and he sold us and then, I think we overpaid. The average exchange rate is 1 Euro = 1.85 Turkish Lira. The advice is this: call the price a little lower than the amount that it is not a pity to give for a thing. And forget to do total shopping there. I impressed the jewelry range with wild “handcuff” bracelets and “collar” chains.
2) Valley of the Thracian kings-Kazanlak-Valley of roses-Shipka-Village of artisans near Gabrovo. It was all in one tour. We left at 6 am and returned at 11 pm. Interesting, versatile, well thought out.
3) Nessebar, visited on their own. There are buses to Nessebar on a regular bus to Burgas and from the same station. Bus departure frequency is 20-30 minutes. The ticket price per person is 8 BGN.
In Sozopol, a lot of people have a rest with children. The sea was constantly warm. We didn’t go to the public beach, we didn’t like the general rookery and we didn’t have a goal to sunbathe. We went swimming right in front of the hotel or near the museum. There are pebbles (my husband is interested in diving with a mask), on which rapans, mussels grow, fish swim, beautiful algae grow and the water is clear as a tear. And one more advantage over the public beach, when there are waves on the sea, a lot of algae and other vegetation are nailed to the public beach, and everything is clean here.
We swam in the sea for a very long time like “two schizophrenic dolphins”, then we went up to the room, took a shower, washed off the sea salt and sat on the balcony or read in the room, and all this with the balcony and window open. The sea constantly rustles and the sea breeze blows. With languages they have, while young people have weak English or the older generation can remember Russian a little. The Ukrainian language is more similar to Bulgarian than Russian, but in general I had to turn on the mind and understand the menu and people with associations.
The last reminder for those who are planning a holiday in Bulgaria: in terms of level, this is not the azure coast of France, but it is also very far (for the better) from the Crimean holiday.
