I met a former soldier in the Old City (or maybe an officer of the Wehrmacht), with whom I rested three years ago in Villa List... Grandfather was about 85-87 years old... We said hello... He complained of joint pain and became on the street scales near the memorial plaque with those who died in Sozopol during the Second World War... For some reason it seemed to me that he fought somewhere here... Therefore, in recent years he has been drawn here... Like a criminal who has not been caught at the scene of a crime. . . : )))
On weekends, all the streets are packed with cars from Sofia, Burgas and Plovdiv. . .
Despite the many vacationers and some fussiness, Sozopol is still beautiful. Each new date with this pearl of Bulgaria brings new pleasant impressions and meetings.

On Cape Skamni, an archaeological expedition led by Dr. Krastina Panayotova found a temple of the ancient goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone. It's just fantastic!! ! Back in September last year, stones were lying here and there was a parking lot... Today - clear outlines of the foundations and walls of the temple !! ! Many projects are funded by the government and the EU. In general, the Bulgarians themselves note that for the first time in many years, the government of Boyko Borisov does not steal, as in the Soviet Union and today's Ukraine and Russia, but takes the first important steps to improve the lives of citizens and the situation in the country and in every locality. This is noticeable in Sozopol and Burgas. One of the directions of reforms is roads. Some sections began to be built and reconstructed back in the 60s of the last century... Now they are finishing : ))) A very important section to the border with Turkey is the road Burgas - Malko Tarnovo, because thousands of tourists are tired of potholes and "ironing boards" of this " highways". . . Here it is possible and necessary for the Bulgarians to learn from the Turks. Although they still call Bulgaria - Bolgaristan.
I was unpleasantly surprised by the amount of cigarette butts and garbage on Harmani beach... And, oddly enough, not only citizens of the CIS, but also Poles and Bulgarians fucked. In many stores, sellers no longer greet vacationers...
Between the Parnassus hotel and the fish restaurant, the Russian brothers (more precisely money) and the Bulgarian company will build something like a screen made of concrete and glass... They will call it "Sozo"... There is already a metal fence, a website and the sale of apartments is open... In order to somehow brighten up the embarrassment in front of the local disgruntled people, who will not have a view of the bay, they promised to reconstruct the stairs to the beach and transfer several apartments to the Union of Bulgarian Cinematographers...
As always, the annual festival was interesting and varied.
