We rested with two children (13 years old and 3 years old) in July 2010. On tour. the agency warned - the hotel is ACTIVE! ! It turned out to be true!
Very noisy, especially in the lobby. There are a lot of people. Came when the World Cup was held. The Germans celebrated for two days (they walked drunk and shouted something very loudly). You come to the sea from a big city and you want a certain calmness, but here you won’t get it. I didn’t like the food in the general restaurant - monotonous and not tasty, the dishes are dirty (especially for cups). The rooms are bearable. Bed and towels were changed without any problems. We lived on the 6th floor overlooking the sea - and the main pool (yes, it's noisy, but with the doors closed, the balcony didn't interfere much). The eldest child (13 years old) met the guys and spent the whole day at the pool - he liked it only because he had someone to communicate with. But as for holidays with small children..... I saw how mothers with strollers suffer, dragging them up the stairs near the pool, there is no other way to leave the hotel to the road. The pools are dirty (the water is muddy, and there is dirt on the stairs), so they didn’t dare to go with the younger one - they only went to the sea. To get to the sea, you need to go along a noisy shopping street (down), almost along the road where cars drive very famously, and it is difficult for a three-year-old boy to explain that it is dangerous. We coped with this, but I felt in constant tension, I had to keep my eyes on the child for more than a second (flirting from constantly ran out onto the road). We are returning from the sea, the child is only in our arms, but you yourself understand that you cannot rest uphill and in 30-degree heat. And so 2 times a day. The beach is clean - sun loungers and umbrellas are paid. There are a lot of entertainments for children in Golden Sands. But if you are on the first line, you can rest. And if, like us, until you get to all the attractions, you walk another 150-200 meters and the child is already naughty, because he can’t withstand such a load, then you won’t see anything especially.
I would like to say that for young people the hotel may be suitable, but it is not for relaxing with a small child. I have rested in Bulgaria more than once and I liked the rest in Sozopol, in Elenite, in Albena more. Whoever expects peace and tranquility from the rest, then you are not in Golden Sands. It’s not bad in Bulgaria, but we most likely will go to Turkey next time for the money we paid (where it’s calmer and the food is much better and you can spend time with a child much more interesting).

By the way, about the hotel - I agree with many of the 4 stars it does not pull. And the best option to eat is not at the hotel, but in local restaurants where they cook very tasty and at a reasonable price.
Our friends lived in a 3-star hotel on the first line 50 meters from the beach (by the way, their hotel did not differ much from Mimosa in terms of accommodation) they only took breakfast, the rest of the time they ate in local restaurants and spent about the same money as we lived in 4 stars, eating just awful, and this road to the sea is worth something.....
P. S. I put 4 points for entertainment only because every evening we visited a children's disco - the child really liked to dance with all the children for half an hour (the animators tried very hard). After the disco, every evening there was a program with various skits, competitions (we sat and laughed a couple of times).
